  1. In 10 years what he describes in the last paragraph would be pretty cool
  2. I played a guy once named Teh Bawney who had 1 arm. I recently saw a topic he posted on halo waypoint.
  3. Looks like 343i is getting serious and working hard to get this game back on track
  4. I saw a bit of the live feed and I really liked what I saw. Hopefully halo 4 builds some momentum and gets on track in the competitive world
  5. So is AGL the new league that they are trying to get to be popular? Just watching this makes me want a MLG playlist or AGL playlist or something with these maps and setting in it!
  6. Sorry about the dude thing I dont need a ranking system to show off, but I need it to play for something. If you've ever played in a sports league, your goal is to win the championship. Just like a MLG players goal is to win the National Championship, I have lowered my standards a bit and wish to get a 50 in a few playlists. Without a ranking system, there is no reason to try really hard because there are no ramifications of winning or losing, you are going to get EXP either way. This promotes less teamwork because everyone is just trying to get as many kills as possible. Months ago on this forum, there were many topics about why a ranking system is better for the game. You should check them out.
  7. Because its doing so well right now without it... Look man, I play for fun too and goof around. If you want to do that all the time then go ahead. Saying that competitive gaming is bad for Halo isnt true. You can play social playlists while people who want to try and win will play competitive playlists. If you haven't noticed, Halo Reach and Halo 4 have significantly less populations than Halo 2 and 3 because there arent ranking systems. By saying Halo will do better without MLG is your idea of making the game suited to only casual players. Sure they'll sell copies because they'll hype up the community just like they did for Halo 4, get everyone to buy it, only to be utterly dissappointed. If thats your definition of "better" than yes, you are correct.
  8. It is stupid but its not the end of the world like everyone else is making it out to be. You can still see your ranks and possibly the ranks of the people you are playing. Even if you can't see their ranks, you will be playing against people of the same or around the same level as you.
  9. Your simply incorrect by saying Halo will do better without MLG. That is moronic. Fine you want no competition this is how it would work: Lets all jump for joy with flowers and butterflies in CasualLand!!!! In CasualLand, if one team wins, the other team gets to win the next game. That way its fair for everyone!!! But seriously, what is the point of a game if you aren't trying to win? Sure if your enjoying a board game with some friends you don't have to be in full on competition mode, but you are still trying to win.
  10. Unfortunately so few people play it, that I have played some of the people in that game. You seem to play the same people all the time. From a business perspective they should get rid of it, but from a fans perspective they should keep it so we start to like them!!
  11. Ill see you on GTA then haha
  12. yeah I agree its stupid thats its not in the game, but there are bigger problems than that in this game haha
  13. Wow thats ridiculous, I didn't know that. Your still going to match players that are around your level so other than visibly seeing their rank, it isn't going to matter much.
  14. In the latest Halo Waypoint Bulletin, Kevin Franklin released the following information about matchmaking War Games Community Update Every week we share information about upcoming Matchmaking playlist updates (see above), but Kevin Franklin also wanted to touch on some other things expected to arrive over the next few months. So those of you that have been asking about CSR, Extraction and other War Games-related topics should immediately begin digging into the information below. There are morsels to be unearthed, and that’s all I’m going to say about that. Hey everyone, Kevin Franklin here. The 343 War Games team has been hard at work on new playlist content, DLC maps, and other such goodies. We are incredibly excited for our upcoming DLC announcement, but until then we have some other updates to share with you. CSR – Competitive Skill Rank We have been working closely with several internal teams on optimizing the ranking system, and working to integrate it into your Waypoint player profile, accessible on web, phone and tablet. More Details: • You will have a unique CSR visible per playlist. • Your highest CSR across all playlists will be promoted in the player profile on Halo Waypoint. • CSR uses familiar 1-50 scale. • When CSR launches, everyone will start with a fresh rating. Our targeted launch date for CSR is April 2013, and we will be re-configuring some of our most competitive playlists to accommodate the launch of the feature. Playlist Rotations Going Forward We have been reading your feedback on rotational playlists, and we would like to clarify our approach going forward. • Several of the modes currently on ‘hiatus’ are getting updates and fixes based on community feedback. • We are planning to build several multi-mode playlists that include rotated modes, and new modes we have not launched yet. It is important that we build strong playlist compositions in time for the CSR launch. • We hope to keep Grifball and Doubles in as regular playlists. Future Playlists and Modes Alongside bug fixes, feature improvements, and new maps, here are some modes and playlists we are working on: • Grifball Playlist: Slated to include multiple versions of Grifball and new courts. • Extraction Playlist: Adding overtime, fixing a score bug, improving the capture experience, and tuning maps. • Infinity CTF: More details next week. And that brings this week’s Halo Bulletin to a close. I hope you found answers to a few of your most asked questions, and we’ll be back next week to do it all again. Until then… This sounds great and all, but APRIL? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Thats another 2 months of Halo 4 collecting dust. View full article

  16. I'd love for those things to be changed too. Progress is real slow for 343i right now. Unfortunately this isnt 343i's official website, you need to head over to halo waypoint and post on those forums, although they probably wont read it

  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6ov3LR7yBQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlJLMzReG00 http://www.syracuse....squared_ta.html ESPN First take and MTV true life.I believe he retired from professional gaming because Halo Reach was pretty bad for MLG and now its gone in Halo 4. And no its not a fad, its HUGE for other games now like Starcraft 2 and League of Legends You are right about spending a while bunch of time practicing, but professional athletes spend the same amount of time traveling with their teams and practicing. Lets say you practice 8 hours a day you can still have a normal life. Again there arent that many sponsored MLG gamers but they do get paid pretty well. Tsquared was the top of the money making gamers, but he was paid very well.
  19. Please, tell me then, have you played previous halo titles? What do you enjoy so much about Halo 4 that you have to defend it like this? I didn't mean to insult anyone, if you think I want to hate Halo 4 then your wrong, I clearly said I wanted to like this game and I still might even start playing this game once the next update comes out.
  20. MLG didn't shape a franchise, but it did bring to our eyes the idea that you can win some serious $$ from competitively playing games. MLG had SSBM tournaments and other games but the game with the biggest cash prizes was Halo 2 and 3. So myself, along with other competitors who happened to play Halo started playing MLG. MLG probably did not add a huge amount of sales numbers as you said, but it clearly put Halo onto a bigger stage. Tsquared got sponsored by Dr. Pepper and was on major TV networks because he was known as a professional Halo gamer. You also say competitive gaming starts with you which is true, but you need a tournament to compete in. Without MLG tournaments, and with the path VG has started on (whoever plays the most wins a jeep), professional gaming is heading south.
  21. Well put. This game sold all those copies because it had the name "Halo", which was known to be a great franchise. I too, played the game for 2 weeks and have moved on till it gets updated. This game was pretty much a scam. I tried very hard to like it, but its just lacking too much of what I used to love in Halo. When everyone on these forums didn't like what they were seeing I told them to give it a chance and embrace the new changes. Some of those changes I liked, some I didn't, and some are completely unacceptable. I cannot remember a previous Halo title where I thought a feature was outright wrong, except not having a ranking system in Reach. That being said, anyone here can enjoy this game. If you do happen to enjoy this game, thats great, but you must be either easy to appease or have not played Halo 2 or 3.
  22. Here is the update history for halo 2 and 3, I couldn't find a Halo Reach link but they did the TU that got rid of Bloom. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo_2_Auto-Updates http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Halo_3_Title_Updates Heres the deal. There were obviously problems in these games, the moral of the story is that most of the time they were resolved. There was never a ranking system added to Halo Reach, which is pretty much the only thing that I didn't like in that game (and the DMR but I can live with that). The community has been begging and pleading with 343i for changes to be made to Halo 4 and all we hear is "were working on it" or "next week" or "next month." This game was released as a beta and if this game was actually ready to come out, sure there would be little problems here and there that would arise, but not like this where theres a whole bunch of problems that noone is addressing.
  23. No offense but are you living under a rock? You say you played previous halo titles and you truly believe there are no "real problems?" Just to name a few things that I would call problems (not counting ordiance and all that, thats up for debate)... -Very few custom game options -No file browser -No ranking system -Rotational playlists, no playlists that we have had in every single game but this one (ex. team doubles) -No MLG -Boltshot Oh and by the way, I tried and I tried to give this game a chance. Im currently a SR-46 I think. There are simply other games out that I like more than halo 4.
  24. This has to be one of the most uneducated posts I have seen in a long time.
