Luke Hales
Welcome to the Battle for Earth.Battle for Earth (BFE) is a forum roleplaying community on Enjin, set in the Halo universe during the final days of the Human-Covenant war. While Cairo and various other stations across Africa, Europe and the Americas have been heavily armed and ready for a fight, Asia and Australia have been undermanned, outgunned and simply outmatched. While Asia boasts a large number of military personnel, having the highest population on Earth, Australia boasts one of the smallest populations, and most isolated. Mere hours before the attack on Cairo, a battered frigate known as the UNSC Hammer exits slipspace with only a handful of survivors near Sydney's Orbital Defense Platform. It was not long after that a Covenant fleet followed suit. EMP blasts rock the stations defending the continents of Australia and Asia, preventing warnings to be sent across the orbital grid. Alone and isolated, a handful of rag-tag UNSC men and women must defend what ground they can, while they still have breath in them. While those of the Covenant go on a suicidal rampage to destroy HIGHCOM Facility Bravo-6 and severe the head of the UNSC once and for all.F.A.QQ = Is there an age restriction?Simply, no. We look for fun, active and of course, enthusiastic RP'ers. Q = What is the timeline?Currently it is late October, 2552. The invasion of Cairo and New Mombassa has begun, and the Battle for Earth is here.Q = Can I play a Spartan or ODST?Yes, but there are requirements. We have organised a Rank system. Everyone begins at the first Rank of Private, as you RP, you have the oppurtinity to be raised in rank depending on your skill at RP. You must be a certain rank before you're capable of being a Spartan or ODST, to prove your RP prowess. The same applies for Elites, as Elites are very powerful foes and in some cases can in single combat kill a Spartan.http://battleforearth.enjin.com/

Luke Hales
Then perhaps I'll attempt to peak your interest, as the main forum post is lacking..>We attempt to maintain a realistic approach to the Halo Universe. This means not everyone is an ODST or Spartan, a lot of us are the Marines and Army Corps>We have established a Rank and Profession system. Ranks give you certain advantages and abilities. Professions are nothing more than a 'loadout' persay. Customized loudouts are a no no, for the reason we're attempting to maintain realism. I'm sure if we shipped you off to war, the Army wouldn't flip open their doors and say 'Choose at will'>We have events and missions planned for players to partake in, both Covenant and UNSC players may participate.>We'll be RPing in the weeks that are the Battle for Earth. Rather than participate in Africa, most RP is centralized around Asia and Australia, in which little is known.

Composite Armour
What about tank commanders?
Luke Hales
What of them, specifically?Players are capable of commandeering tanks once they have reached the rank of Corporal. We have introduced and plan to keep this system. This is simply, and quite bluntly, to reduce poorer RP'ers from making bad choices with a lack of knowledge. We view it as this: Would you rather someone RPing in a tank who is an experienced and knowledgeable RP'er? Or someone who has just begun and doesn't know much? It sounds rude, but we mean no offence. If you're a good RP'er, raising up through ranks is VERY easy. It also helps motivate poorer RP'ers to improve themselves in RP. Composite Armour
So I'd have to create a character, get ranks and then toss him aside just to be able to RP the character I want?
Luke Hales
Not typically. Your current character would simply have been given permission, that being said if he had the required training. Not any private is given a tank, understandably. They're powerful things. Composite Armour
So all the characters would have to start out as a private in the MC? Wouldn't that kill a lot of peoples character ideas?
Luke Hales
All characters start out as private. It isn't hard to raise in rank, if you've got the skill.Yes, it would. We're attempting to maintain a realistic approach. Keeping a system of rank helps this. People can work towards their goal, rather than just getting it on a silver platter. I find working for something much more rewarding than just receiving it.
