  1. The faction floors need a little more accentuating cover detail, but I thought I would get this update out there, display enthusiasm for the feedback I have been given! Also chatting with you has given me many ideas to calibrate this map! EX- removing all railings. Pardon if I repeat this but when this was first designed in reach, it was a canal setting, so the railings were really there to keep players from falling in the water. There is no need for that now. My only concern of that is I wonder if it will expose players to much. Thoughts?
  2. Greeting Zandril, on your pinned thread of submission map marker set, in your video you mentioned a free photoshop software to apply these labels! I did an internet search and got lost in a noise of links! If you had time could you share a link to that software? I would love to submit with that pack of attributes you collaborated !

  3. Update 1.2 brings calibrated Ordnance drops, and modification of center scissor jack bridge, and also added ammo crates on floor for cover!
  4. Zandril, I had a chance to play this twice last and had a lot of fun on this map! We played KOTH, and team regicide on it! I just noted in the thread it say s 4v4, sounds insane! I only say that cause I hosted 3v3 and never had a dull moment! Perhaps it was just the game types though! If I had any critique to say... 1) As Squally has mentioned was clutter, I felt this was happening in the I believe its the teal color zone, where snipe spawns, and needles! I felt like there are to many vertical pieces happening! I think that zone could be opened up a little more, perhaps less 1x4,r even sliding them next to walls to still have that awesome structural attribute but open up the dance floor on that zone! Just some thoughts! 2)In the Orange or cayenne biome there was a tree and a rock on the anvil floor in which I saw players got hung up on! I thought the tree looked really good in there, perhaps maybe remove the rock, or scribe it into the wall? I thought Blue and red biomes were solid, although yellow was underplayed in the matches we ran! We had many great firefight moments that felt really fleshed out! The Regicide match we played on it was one of the most funnest times I have ever played that game type ! I am gonna keep this map on my hard drive and look forward to any contributions you might make to this build! Great layout, and hardscape! Its great to get acquainted with your builds!
  5. I played this map today and I noticed very small things (not map braking) at all! But a couple places were there were junctions of pieces that didnt meet the same elevation only by one coordinate of height, and gave the players a slight bump in movement! A lower 4x4 platform could perhaps use a little bit more cover! This could be just my preference and just a thought but, if budget allowed, I would knock out some of the coliseum walls and let the light in, and dig a little deeper to assist the dynamic lighting! Perhaps some Coliseum windows, or visual guides that tell a player this is not a playable area! The lighting wasnt broken, but not happening either! Honestly I really enjoy the layout, of all the different elevations! I utilized all biomes of the map, in which none felt like dominating, nor vulnerable! Very balanced at that! I would not touch the layout, this is what makes this map unique! I love all the structural molding, and aesthetic overhead touches you did! This map will be just fine in my hard drive and add to my custom rotation (I am gonna download the colored render though)! I myself am not new to Forge, but new to submission, and look forward to more of your builds!
  6. I will download this and check it out! Unless there are major issues I try not to critique or praise before I play it! Looks great by the thread!
  7. The layout looks great by the screen caps , I TRY not to critique maps until I play them so I will download, and return to this thread! And I do agree to Zandril, I look forward to the coloring!
  8. Mr Zandril I appreciate the time you have taken to look at the map, and reply to me, Thank you! Time is life and you have shared some! In response to your comments! Windows as walls- couldn't agree more! Problem was is if i used anything else it resulted in ruining any dynamic lighting I had going on, or breaking it in general! Color the wings of the map differently- by this do you mean coloring the the biomes/ structure outcrops differently? If I am understanding this correctly, yes I could! Widen thin ramps- I will explore that! More ground cover- I will explore that to, so far the budget lends itself to accentuate the map like that! Raising cover at red, and blue- at snipe spawn, or the building with the inclined roofs awnings? Nevertheless I will look at all the railings! As I mentioned in the write up above, Right when I was getting this build play test ready, Forge Island was announced! I intend to rebuild it there (I am sure you can imagine how challenging it was to build this on Ravine with square footage and such)! So all these ideas and critiques you have given me, are exactly what I was looking for to aid my next render! Thank you! I will give you a hollar to test this! I have been Forging for years, but have finally got over my shy spree, and decided to start submitting! The more time i spend in the community I see you affiliated with "Forge Cafe", I should cruise over and check that slice of heaven over there to! Thank you for your time, Zandril!
  9. I really would like to thank you for your ideas! I put up the overview screenshot you requested! I also flipped the bridges, and that really ramped up the RISK vs REWARD for those rockets up there! Also made it look really clean! In order to fill the void of that visual queue of the bridge railings, I forged a pergola over the whole thing, which as of now adds to the aesthetics and ties in the architecture loci of the map! I have no clue if you have played this yet, but this small but significant change has increased my admiration for this layout! Thanks! I put screenshots of these changes as well! I loaded it up with my testers, they couldnt identify with the change, but once the match was done, participants asked what was different and mentioned the map played a lot tighter!
  10. I forget to get back to this thread! I didnt give up, and the walkthrough loaded up!! I appreciate you loading this video again so I may see it, thanks! Just ends up it was on my end! ERPS! This map by the screenshots and walkthrough looks very clean! I am planning on downloading this and playing it in my next rotation!
  11. I really like those ideas, and will definitely check it out! I really like those landing pads, but the extensions of the bridge have always been a chin scratcher! Yes I can post an overview, unless I am to close to default killzone!
  12. "EVENT CENTER 1.2" waypoint download link http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/fileshare/details/33a3c8b1-b9f2-4db9-91aa-a16163d152ce GAMERTAG-Festuca GAMETYPES-Slayer variants, CTF, SWAT, great shotty snipes map! PLAYER CAP 4v4 (plays 2v2 surprisingly well CANVAS-RAVINE VERSION 1.5 HARDSCAPE LAYOUT-inverted symmetrical This map was Forged in the last month before Halo 4's launch! The hardscape layout, is inspired from my travels to canal based urban environments in Europe! At the time when we had Forge world, I was able to Forge the vision due to the water in which it was a composition of boardwalks, terraces, bridges, and balconies that had some very intense sight lines. The map was named "CANALS" This map was one I could claim a original Festuca design! Although I was thrilled with the way it turned out, due to the them, it lacked "dance floor" attributes, and kept players moving to a predictable zone! At the time I reforged this in Halo 4, I was unable to recreate the same hardscape it had, because of lack of Forgeable areas near water! Determination lead to a redesign, yet keeping many preferred attributes of the map! The result was a complete facelift of the middle section, and calibrated, modified attacker, and defender bases! The design of the layout really cultivates firefights that to me seem vary rare in Halo, as much as all the biomes are defendable there truly is no dominate area! The redesign has enable fantastic traversing options for the player, in which I see players utilize all areas of the map! As soon as Forge Island came out I was almost hesitant to submit, because after a current BTB build I am working on, I intend to rebuild this because, I spent so much budget on floor, and perimeter! But what better way to release it to this community, in hopes some feedback will aid its next render! I encourage you guys to try this, because I am confident in this layout, and as of now it plays different than any other map I have played! That being said if I had to give an analogy of how this map played, it reminds me of Halo 2's "Sanctuary"! I hope and wish for some feedback would be very welcomed, and of all I hope you enjoy the gameplay of this map! Thanks for your time! Festuca Middle section is what i call a Scissor Jack bridge, Rockets on top @180, Railgun underneath @120 Head on view of the scissor jack bridge Behind the center structures that unite the bridge, is a ladder for alternative flank route! 13. Squally, you are one of my most favorite Forgers! At least a couple of your maps will always have real estate in my hard drive! This map works so well! I am not usually a fan of blocks scirbing into each other, but this is a personal preference, not at all map braking of course, but if anyone in my opinion can pull it off its you! i don't have much to say cause its clean and plays very well! My name is Festuca, and I enjoy your maps! Your application of builds are things I take notes on!-Festuca
  14. Does anyone else consider the "Boltshot" could be called the "WTF gun"?

      I_Make_Big_Boom

I think it's one of the most annoying guns. I really think the Incineration cannon takes the cake though.

  15. Has been occupied, but needs to FORGE, zangit! L8tr!

  16. Is it me, or is this video walkthrough not working? Just curious! Either way it does not brake me from being curios of this map! I be checking it out mahn!
  17. Well I have been here a day, and really dig the vibe here! Sometimes I feel scattered when I join to many forums, but with the shakedown of my first day I must say I really like the UI, and the community! I made a map submission, and derped on one of the requirements, to leave the waypoint link! But somehow I think i had a guardian that assisted this noob! I am in a mood of appreciation!

Stick around and have fun! If you're a frequent forger, I'd suggest making your own thread in the forge forum!

I am thankful Drizzy_Dan, I needed that! Next submission I should have all my T's crossed, and I's dotted! :)

  18. To my understanding, as of now this option is not available for me! You see, I am a NOOB to this site, LOL! Yes this seems to be the case, zangit! Thank you for the compliment, pleasure to meet you! Wait, did one of you gentleman assist me? There is a waypoint link on this submission all of a sudden!
  19. Greetings Psychoduck, and thank you for taking the time to let me know I did not complete all the requirements! Kinda slapping my forehead in embarrassment :wallbash: that I forgot the waypoint link! I do have a question if I may; how may I edit or delete this mistake? I have surveyed the UI, and went to the help section, and if I read correctly, editing or deleting option might be unavailable Any suggestions? Thank you for your time! meanwhile
  20. "Windthrown" Waypoint download link http://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/games/halo4/fileshare/details/370f0851-6877-48af-ae29-9e3955b79746 http://youtu.be/s6W2OZONeyU Second map feature, courtesy of Zandril! Thank you Zan "Windthrown" is one of my more 1st ever serious builds that I accomplished in the first quarter of Reach's launch! Windthrown is rendered, inspired, and designed from the hardscape layout from Halo 3 ODST's original firefight map "Windward"! I chose this hardscape layout, at the time I had no inspiring ideas, so I looked into the Halo franchise for something unique to bring to the community! Choosing this map really helped me understand how maps were Forged, and what elements were needed to make a solid map! Every time I booted up this map, I always thought it would be a fantastic environ to play competitively! During the 3rd render bringing it in to Halo 4, due to multiple requests, it evolved enough that the build kinda became its own, yet you can still tell its spiritual successor, hence the name "Windthrown"! This map has gone through 3 variants, and hours of playtesting over a 2 year span! This current render I feel is finally what I feel ready to release into the wild! Windthrown is set up for 4v4, but hits a sweet spot at 3v3! It plays 2v2 really well also! I have before had multiple gametypes and they all played well, but the consistent request for this map, is straight up Slayer variants! I am amateur at making videos but the video I made for this map explains it well and I hope you enjoy! Waypoint Download Link Hope you guys enjoy! Love to hear thoughts of this map! Thank you for your time!-Festuca
  21. Greetings from the Graminoid Greetings my name is Festuca and Have been playing Halo religiously since Halo 3! I love the game the and the community! It cultivates fond memories so I am reaching out further by joining this Forum site! I am a shy Forger that is attempting to creep out of my shell and connect with the Forging community! I have been Forging since day 1 of Reach but never took the time to submit favorites chose by lobby attendees! I now have 2 maps to submit and more on the way once testing has been completed! I have launched a face book page called "The Oracle" dedicated to Forge builds, custom gametypes, and end up filling in gaps with memes and other Facebook community pages shares! Here is the link if anyone wishes to hang out https://www.facebook.com/ForgeOracle I also started a youtube channel to vent my builds as I saw one day the pages of submissions many Forge content providing paperweights have to go through! So far I did a custom gametype reveal and my first competitive feature! Its tons of fun so far sharing and communicating beyond my normal! Here is my first competitive vid! Appreciate the chance to be a part of this site and look forward to anything! PS, I find it funny spellcheck has no clue of scientific terms and did not register graminoid!
