    Ranked.

I'm not saying you're wrong about the ranking, in fact, I agree with you. My point was, do some searching. You'll see that this topic is being discussed in at least 4 other threads.

    Ranked.

For crying out loud, seriously dude? You can't be bothered to look and see that this topic is being discussed all over the place? Here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/8136-what-kinds-of-ranks-in-halo-4/ Here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/8200-halo-4-ranking-system/page__hl__ranks (Though this one doesn't have any replies, still discusses rank) Here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/7901-halo-4-ranking-system/page__hl__ranks Here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/7146-my-idea-on-the-rank-system/page__hl__ranks There's four threads, each dealing with the ranks in Halo 4, next time why not search to see if your topic is already being discussed elsewhere. Now, as for your other comments, let's start with this one: "Long term competitive players (the REAL fans)" - - who are you to say who is a real fan or not? That's just being arrogant, and there's no need for it. As for them "being clever by adding all these new things" - - if they don't change the game, people will get BORED with it. Period.

    BxR in halo 4

But the problem with this is it was never an intentional thing, and like Twin said, Bungie couldn't fix it, it was a flaw in the coding. You're right that it won't be put in, but not because of it widening the skill gap, but because it was an error, and they wouldn't intentionally put an error back into the game. The skill gap is going to be widened further by them taking bloom back out, but I agree that they are trying to make the game more casual friendly. Still, I'm planning on getting it and playing it, and as long as it plays well, I'll be happy.
  4. My guess is that's going to be the default for H4... not sure how I feel about it yet.
  5. ET is Eastern Standard Time, US. So that's what... 10:00 AM on the 27th, I think? Somewhere around there.
  6. Welcome! And to elaborate more on what Luke said, the community is here by far one of the best I've come across on the internet. Definitely worth staying around!
  7. Welcome to the forums! Check out this thread for a nice long discussion on the subject. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/7462-bring-back-pinnacle-and-uncaged-in-team-swat/page__pid__87618__st__100?do=findComment&comment=87618
  8. Um, wow? Try not to do this, it makes the thread unnecessarily longer, and it is a pain to read through. Next time, just edit your post. 5 posts in under two minutes... wow. Anyways! Like Fal has said, there are a lot of threads on this topic. It's been argued back and forth, both for and against the idea of elites in Matchmaking, etc. etc. While I feel for those who want to play as elites, and I do, it is 343's game, and they decided to go down this path. Nothing at this point that we can say or do will change their minds unfortunately. Hopefully there will be the option in custom games and forge and things, and the possibility of an elite ops, but all anybody can do is wait and see if they release any more information on this subject.
  9. I'm up in the air on this. Like Viva said, power weapon spawns and weapon placement have been such a huge factor in the game, this is definitely going to change how the game is played. But, with the random weapon drops, maybe it will be okay. I dunno. I reserve my right to wait and see how it's going to be used.

    The Halo 3 Chopper

Love the chopper, one of my favorite vehicles. Sadly, it's a brute vehicle, so probably not in the campaign, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be in the multiplayer.
  11. Where are you trying to play these maps? That's another aspect of the question that needs answered. If you're trying to do a custom game over Live, and the other players don't have the maps, you're out of luck. If you're just trying to go into them on your own and check them out, then I agree with the Director, re-download them, if that fails, install Reach onto your hard drive if you can, and try again.
  12. Okay, so it breaks down like this then. You thought that the vote was suppose to make it so it was either Vanilla Reach, or TU Reach, correct? And now you're questioning why they still have options for Vanilla Reach, if TU supposedly "won" the vote. Well, that being said, on any given day that I go and play Team Slayer, there are always more people in the regular Team Slayer playlist than there are in Super Slayer. Now, do they need an option for both? No, not really, but on the same hand, if it is bringing more players to the game, what's the harm in keeping it that way?
  13. Would you rather them release a beta, and push back the release of the game until, for example, January, or would you rather trust that 343 knows what they are doing? Personally, I'd rather trust 343 and have the game in November.
  14. That's exactly what I was going to get at, Ms. Mystic. I never saw the "results" of said vote, only that there was a lot of support for both Vanilla and Title Update, and that is why they were keeping both styles. As for the TU choice from regular Team Slayer, I never get that option? It's just normal Vanilla Reach. Does it even exist at this point? My understanding was anything TU was labeled as such under the description of the playlist.
  15. Out of curiosity, what did you say previously? I know it wasn't my entire post, I've been following this thread from the beginning and now you have me utterly confused.
  16. Clans, in my mind, are pointless. Never been a part of one, never plan on joining one. And what was that last post even about? It's 343's game, they can do with it what they will. I don't honestly care how many elite clans are out there. I've seen the numbers, what was it, at least 12 with at least 1,000 members? In the whole grand scheme of things, should 343 cater to 12,000 people, or should they just make their game, knowing that the other 4,000,000 people that buy the game will be happy? The only people in this whole thread that seem to really care about the Sangheili being in Halo 4 are you, and maybe what, 6 or 7 other people? I haven't seen much rage about this elsewhere, save for the 9 or 10 topics that popped up when this was first announced, and even then, it has been about the same 10 people arguing for the inclusion of elites. I don't see this audience that they are displeasing. What I do see is a lot of people who are excited about Halo 4. Not because elites are not included, but because the game sounds and is looking phenomenal. So like I said earlier, if having elites is such a big deal to you, then don't purchase the game. It's as simple as that.
  17. What "rights"? Your "right" to have elites in a game? No. Just no. Nobody has a "right" to anything in a game. With this argument, I say that I should be able to start with a rocket launcher and a shotgun at the beginning of every game, it's my "right". See how silly that is? And if you want to argue this point, then let's put it this way. 343 Industries has every right to not include elites in their game.
  18. Where are the results of said vote, to show that TU lost? I've never seen them, personally. Just curious, that's all.
  19. I had a long response to this but decided to walk away from my computer and come back to it a bit later, reread it, and now I'm posting this. Honestly, to say that there is more to a game than having fun is mind boggling. The whole purpose for a game is to have fun. There is no greater depth to it than that. If you don't find a game fun, don't play it. If that means you don't get Halo 4 because there are no elites, and you won't find it fun, then fine. That's entirely your choice. But to act as if it is this great injustice to all of these "elite clans" who "take it seriously"? That's asinine.
  20. If I may ask, why does there need to be another race to play as? Just curious.
  21. The random weapon drops does seem a tad.. odd, but they also stated that the weapons are going to be placed at the beginning of the match like always, just after that it will become random. Not sure if they are applying this to all weapons, or just power weapons though. In one of the sparkcasts they did say that it does have a pattern that can be learned over time, though, so we'll see. The unlocking things does feel very much like CoD/BF. I haven't personally played CoD, but BF, it is a pain, but I understand why it is in there. Unlike the Halo universe, at least in BF3 they have a multitude of guns that perform the same function, and you unlock them as you progress in the different "classes". I'm not sure how much I like this idea for a Halo game, but again, I'll reserve judgement on it until I've seen it in action. Anyway, thanks for the discussion! Should probably get this back on topic about bloom, huh? To me, the whole ZB thing seems a bit overpowered. I may like it more if perhaps the DMR was nerfed a bit, but as it stands, the game wasn't designed for it to be played that way. I dunno. My personal preference, I guess.
  22. Okay wall of text. Let's begin, shall we? Spartans are in multiplayer. Period. The game revolved around the Chief. There's no question that they are in. You say CE didn't capture you're attention because you couldn't play as an elite, so I assume you were absolutely thrilled when Halo 2 allowed this, correct? So now, we have Halo 4. A brand new game to start off a second trilogy, and to top it off, now there is a reason why red spartans fight blue spartans. It's all a training exercise aboard the UNSC Infinity. The maps take place inside a holodeck (think Star Trek). So why would the UNSC have their spartans train as elites, instead of in their natural form as Spartans? It doesn't make sense, from a story perspective. As for elites fighting humans and humans fighting elites, we don't have enough background information to know what is going on. Chances are they are a separatist group (think Star Wars: Attack of the Clones/Revenge of the Sith separatists) that want nothing to do with the new government, yada yada. Now, for your feelings on the matter. Playing a game not for the gameplay, mechanics, not for the abilities, etc, and you are playing for story, then what does it matter that elites are not in the multiplayer side of things? Honestly? I don't mean to come off as rude, I'm just curious. Where was the story behind them being in the multiplayer of Halo 2 or 3? Strictly from the campaign? I understand where you are upset about not being able to play as elites in matchmaking, but like Fal'Taralumee said, if they are playable in Custom Games and Forge, would that be okay? What about a dedicated section, like the so called rumored "Elite Ops"? There is still a lot of unknown information, and the game is still 6 months away. Who knows what surprises 343 may have up their sleeves?
  23. Thanks for the response, Three. How do you feel about the apparent custom loadouts, then? Choices between BR/DMR/AR, etc? Obviously for competetive play, the choices will probably be between DMR/BR, so what are your thoughts on this?
  24. It's the same basic principle as that. Two people each sign in three guests, play against each other and just kill the guests, headshots, assassins, etc, to boost. There's nothing saying that you couldn't also have a group of 8 friends who do the same thing. 8 sign on, one team plays the first game, the other team AFC's. Switch the next game. Banhammer can't distinguish.
