Metal Energy Sword And Home Made Gauntlets

Just bought this today for $50 bucks, it's surprisingly sharp and sturdy. Thought it would be cool to put on here. The Gauntlets are WIP just started them today, and by the way they're just to protect my arm from the back of the sword and won't look like spartan armor ( Unfortunately ).

Well, it easily cut through about an inch of weeds, And I barely even tried.

So the back of the Sword is sharp? Why? Couldn't they have dulled it?

I actually found it in an antique store ( weird right )!

 

But it's completely new!

Never mess with sniper, He has a real (metal) energy sword. Jokes aside that is pretty sweet, Just don't cut yourself with it

Edit: The gauntlet is painted green now, I'm letting the second coat dry. You'll have a picture in about ten minutes.

So after procrastinated for like two hours, I finally finished the gauntlet (keep in mind this is my first time making something like this), so here's the pic!

 

 

Edit: forgot to ask if anybody could help figure out a way to attach it to my arm, I'm thinking of using Velcro but just wanted to see if anybody had a different idea

The gauntlet appears to be cardboard. Is that the case?

 

And if it is, then how is that supposed to protect your arm from a blade?

@Axilus Prime Yes it is cardboard, but it's to protect me from the back of the sword. Check my fifth post and you'll see why

I know, I saw it. But if the back of the sword is sharp, wouldn't it be able to cut through the gauntlet? Cardboard isn't very blade-resistant.

Edit: I'm building a Halo inspired airsoft gun, wanted to see if anyone wanted to see my progress, (I haven't started yet still gathering the materials!) I'm hoping I can start this week

I tested it, and I'm gonna keep layering the duck tape

How exactly did the test go? Did it cut through because of inadequate layering?

It sucks, gonna add more duck tape, ALOT more!

I would suggest slipping a layer of thin metal, or even layers of plastic, underneath all of the duct tape.
