Call of Duty

Does anyone else feel that this game feels a lot like that miserable franchise? One thing I loved about the Halo universe is that there were no loadouts, there was an actual rank not just a number an actual title, and the fact that you had to know the multiplayer maps to get the weapons on the map.

Now there are loadouts so people are all on different playing fields when the game starts, not everyone starts the same. Now there are no ranks but simply a number in which to achieve. What I loved about the past halo games was that in multiplayer you had the name and an icon to show the hard work and dedication that you put into the game. Now you simply get to see a number. Now where the guns are show up in the multiplayer maps so everyone can see. Need more grenades? Just look to see if the game is showing you where you can find more.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this game. It looks absolutely amazing but the gameplay is nothing more than a futuristic call of duty. Everyone that loves and appreciates everything that made halo different than call of duty and other shooters should be disappointed in this game. 343 industries I hate you for what you have done to this franchise. You took a series that I loved and have played since the original Halo and turned it Into a game that I think most die hard halo fans don't care much for, call of duty.

While i can't say much to this as i havent check out the multiplayer yet but Halo2 featured numbered ranks as well. Maybe an attempt to relive the glory days?

I also have to agree with you in a way. I feel they wanted to veer off into their own direction so they wouldn't be clumped/compared with Bungie and it just went tragically downhill.

Amen brother. The game is still fun to play with some friends sure, but it's nothing compared to halo 3. This loadout system is really stupid and the fact that all the weapons are pointed out for you on the map is just stupid. I agree with everything you've said. What happened to being the first one to grab the overshield? Now everyone gets it in killstreak reward? **** that.

So yea, played a few matches earlier. Those weapon indicators are the dumbest thing i've ever seen. Takes away from any sort of map awareness and learning weapon spawn time skills completely.

killstreaks need to go. Now.

Armour abilities are gimmicky enough. Why put more gimmicks and strokes of luck in this game? Jesus.

And on another note, there's no way in hell 343 would go bankrupt. Halo is microsofts flagship. Highly doubt they'd let that happen.

I can let some things slide, as much as i just wanted halo3 with better graphics, i knew it wouldnt be so. So lets begin the tear apart;

-Pointing out weapons, i can deal with. Still a little unsure if they ever respawn. But this is a small change i guess.

-Ordnance drops, i can deal with. Haven't seen any give an unnecessary advantage yet, and they are needed if your stuck in your base because the other team has jacked all your vehicles and there is literally no other way to kill them.

-Changing the score system away from 1 point for a kill to 10 points. No biggie at all, i just noticed it straight away and has been bugging me to no end for some reason.

-Lack of playlists. Remember winding down to some good ol' griffball, or maybe a mongoose race? sure they were some of the craziest playlists and i didnt think would be included - but no SWAT? No doubles? No snipers? - MADNESS. Literally didn't see that one coming.

-No competitive playlists/rank. Teamed unfairly with people all the time. I class myself as quite a good player, and to see me mow through a team of guys (as much as i love it) seems unfair, and can imagine their bitterness towards this system.

Just my two cents. Cant see the competitive thing coming anytime soon, but please bring back some of the playlists, there's more than enough people playing to keep them all alive! -(could always get rid of oddball :P)

Just lost a 6 win streak because of these killstreaks. Enemy team decided to camp out on a landing pad with snipers/needlers/SAWs/Gravity hammers. No one could stop them because they got so many that the weapons just piled up for them. This is what killstreaks encourage. You figure if you got a good vantage point. a sniper/SAW combination will easily outclass the normal BR/DMR loadout. Saw just sprays you and you cant aim due to it knocking up your vision constantly, sniper just takes it easy and takes pot shots at you.

We nearly came back with only 2 kills to go but they had such a huge lead in the beginning and such a constant flow of ammunition/overshields to burn through that it really just becomes mundane and unfun.

The normal halo playstyle of teams just spamming grenades just reinforces this even more.

And with this experience im done with infinity slayer.

At the moment I see no issues with Halo 4 multiplayer. As much as I loved Halo 3 I wanted something new. I wanted something well done. Where Reach failed Halo 4 succeeds. With Armor Abilities, in Reach armor abilities were imbalanced and broke the game. So far as I can tell armor abilities in Halo 4 are balanced. Their is no game breaking armor lock. Jetpack has been severely nerfed to the point that it just gives you that little push.

I will not say Halo 4 is the best. I will not say Halo 4 is the worst. I need to give it some time. There is plenty in the game that is still Halo.

To the person who says they lost a game to campers. Personally I would have just stopped attacking and made them come to me.

Well Halo has been my favorite fps since the Xbox came out. I have owned every Halo since the first. I hate cod. Modern warfare was a decent game and innovative. Since then it has been a regurgitation of the same game except for when zombies was introduced in WaW (I believe it was). Going in to this I was expecting little tweaks that improve the game like every other Halo. It seems like every game has built on the last one. So I was expecting the same with this one.

Me and 3 of my friends tried to do a co-op campaign Monday night. After taking 45 minutes to finally get into a party together we were all thinkîng 4 was starting out on a negative note. Then it started and the cutscenes were absolutely phenomenal. We were blown away with how the game looked. We played a couple of missions and called it a night. I was extremely happy with this game. It was everything I was hoping it would be from a campaign standpoint. So this morning I couldn't way to jump into multiplayer. I played for about 45 seconds and the only thing I could think of was call of duty set in the future. After such a huge buildup from the night before that is maybe why I was so disappointed in how the multiplayer plays. But as I said earlier I hate cod and unfortunately this game feels very similar to me. I also don't like how I can't keep the controls the same but make melee B and crouch RB.
