  3. I am not sure if this is the case, but if you have purchased the Champion Bundle there could be a glitch occurring like is happening to others. You can refer to this news item, here, and post issues you are having both of these links. Link 2 Link 3
  4. I found this while looking for information about the Champions Bundle armor and weapon skins issues at Waypoint. I am curious to find out what you make of BS Angel's post script comment below. lol
  5. There is simply no doubt that Destiny is going to be the game that is most played by me after it releases. Bungie has created the type of environment and game play situations that will appreciate the most. It truly is a game you can enjoy with your friends while embarking on all sorts of adventures together either with them or alone. I do not remember feeling this since of anticipation for any games besides Halo 2 and Halo 3.
  6. The Halo 4 Champion Bundle has been receiving a lot of feedback due to various issues with the armor skins, weapons skins and other noted problems. The new skins sold in the Champions Bundle will only appear in the War Games menu and not in spartan Ops or Campaign. Many players are feeling they have been cheated by not having the full use of the skins in all areas of the game as is with all other skins shipped or purchased previously. A comment by BS Angel, when directly asked about the matter brought this response from the 343 employee. Josh ‏@JSA43420 Aug @bsangel I'm really enjoying it! Just wondering if there will ever be a fix so this stuff works in Spartan Ops. Jessica Shea‏@bsangel @JSA434 That content will continue to be available in War Games only. No plans to change that, unfortunately. There have been some other problems being noted by players since the DLC went live. Here are a few of the complaints. It will not allow to play xbox live on the DLC maps When I try to do custom games it sais player failed to load content. I wish I could see my armor such as the forearms and shoulders in game instead it shows inner-plated forearms and scout shoulders. Only the legs appear as the ones you have selected. Prefect, Mark V and Ricochet forearms display as ODST in first-person POV in Custom Games and Matchmaking. Some Forge items in the “Scenery” and “Gadget” palettes of the Majestic and Castle Map Packs will have incorrect labels. The three new armor mods, along with Champions Bundle content, are not available in Spartan Ops or Campaign. Loadouts are reset and Spartan Points are refunded when a new Loadout slot is unlocked. This occurs at SR-6, SR-14, SR-26 and SR-41. When you reach these levels, you will need to re-purchase all items and redo your Loadouts. No Spartan Points will be lost. Ever since I downloaded the bundle pack, my profile became corrupted. I had to re-download all my other halo 4 DLC content & buy all the halo 4 weapons & abilities again. I'm also surprised it gave me extra tokens. The bundle is soo buggy that I can't run most of the time while I have mobility on me! (unlimited sprint). We will keep an eye out for any more information, bugs or glitches that are being reported and bring answers from 343 as they become available.

  12. Microsoft has opened the way for independent developers to use the ID@Xbox program to potentially become a registered XBOX One developer. This type of program is similar to Bugie's Aerospace project that launched back in 2011. The difference here is the ability to produce games directly for a console, given you have a proven record of shipping games for console, PC, phone or tablet use. Here is the story as it originally appeared in eurogamer.net. Microsoft unveils Xbox One indie developer self-publishing program By Wesley Yin-Poole Microsoft has unveiled its Xbox One indie developer self-publishing program. Microsoft said it met with more than 50 developers to learn what they wanted from a self-publishing program, and ID@Xbox, as it's known, is the result. Under the new rules, each registered developer will receive two development kits at no cost, and developers will have access to the full power of the console, cloud services, Kinect and the Xbox Live toolset, which includes Xbox SmartGlass, multiplayer, Achievements and Gamerscore, among other things. Applications to the ID@Xbox Program will be accepted from 20th August at www.xbox.com/id. If a developer is accepted, it will become a registered Xbox One developer. Microsoft said this status will be granted "with priority" to independent game developers "who have a proven track record of shipping games on console, PC, mobile or tablet", suggesting Microsoft has stopped short of creating a true open platform in the vein of the App Store. Crucially, there are no application fees, and as with Xbox 360, there are no fees for certification or title updates. Developers will also benefit from a global support team, headed up by ID@Xbox director Chris Charla. Charla's brief is to maintain personal communication with developers. Community managers will provide quick responses to submissions, and a number of events are planned to explain how the process will work. A chief concern among indie devs is how their games will be discovered by gamers who use the Xbox One. Microsoft said all games are located together on the Xbox One Store, and "rich search scenarios" using voice through Kinect will enable easy discoverability. Trending will showcase what friends and the community are playing, Recommendations will bring forward new games based on what you like to play, Spotlight showcases Editor Picks and, with the Xbox One's Game DVR and Upload feature, new games will be found as gamers capture and share videos. Developers will also be able to create special events out of Achievements and Challenges. The initial phase of the program will begin this autumn, but longer term Microsoft plans to enable any Xbox One console to be used as a development kit for self-publishing purposes. "This means that any hobbyist with a great game idea can make it come to life on Xbox One," Microsoft said. "We know Xbox fans will fall in love with the quality and diversity of games on our platform," Marc Whitten, Xbox Chief Product Officer, said. "We are committed to ID@Xbox and are fully invested in helping independent developers succeed on Xbox One." Microsoft EMEA boss Phil Harrison added: "I am really looking forward to the diversity and creativity of games that will come to Xbox One through the ID@Xbox program. We've worked with the community of developers to craft a platform that helps creators self-publish on Xbox One - irrespective of their size or location." One indie developer already convinced by Microsoft's new initiative is SpyParty creator Chris Hecker: "I'm really excited that Microsoft has listened to feedback from developers and created this program," he said. "As an independent developer, I want SpyParty to be available to as many players as possible, and it feels like Microsoft is interested in not only removing roadblocks for indies to get their games on Xbox One, but they're also genuinely interested in finding ways to bring new and innovative indie games to their platform to help games reach their potential as an art and entertainment form."

  14. Assassins Creed IV Black Flag will not only be bringing back the classic style game play that die hard 'Creed' fans love, but also a new feature that will offer players a whole new way to explore the environment around them. The new underwater swimming experience opens up a vast area for the player to explore and find treasure, upgrades for their ship and other hidden items. You will have the same type of free roam ability under the oceans, seas and lagoons that you find on land except that here you will have no weapons for defense. This means when you encounter sharks, jelly fish, manta rays and various other dangerous sea creatures you must use the environment and stealth to avoid attacks and elude predators because you are the prey underwater. The new experience will allow you to traverse the entire oceans, if you choose, underwater. The one catch is that you need to be wary of your air supply. When diving close to your ship the crew will provide an air bell for use, but in more distant locations you will have to seek out air pockets under rock shelves and in caves. There will be a diverse underwater environment that features ship wrecks, coral reefs, under water caves, lagoons and trenches that are carpeted with lush seaweed beds, sand, clams and filled with all manner of underwater life. In an video interview with producer Arnaud Vaudour, Tom Bramwell of eurogamer.net discusses the new addition of under water exploration in Assassins Creed IV Black Flag.

  18. For those of you who are purchasing, or thinking about purchasing, the new map pack and assorted armors, weapon and armor skins, game types as well as some new stances for your Spartan the Champions Bundle is currently available via the marketplace. The Champions Bundle contains three DLC packs, as well as bonus content, including: Bullseye Pack (Includes Ricochet, a new game type) Steel Skin Pack Infinity Armor Pack Bonus content, including new stances, armor and weapon skins, and a new armor mod Maps Vitigo Vertigo is an asymmetrical map that provides a wide variety of indoor and outdoor combat. The map lends itself best to Slayer and Extraction game types and is best played with anywhere from 8 to 10 players. Vertigo also touts the return of a dynamic, interactive element in a Halo multiplayer map: Each base has a trigger point that depletes the shields of all players in range when shot. The map also contains a series of caves on each side as well as three levels of verticality, providing players with several different routes for attacking each base. Pitfall Not only will Pitfall add another medium-sized symmetrical map to Halo 4 Matchmaking, but the remake also includes updated features (such as strategically placed crates and ledges) that provide increased pace and flow. Whether you’re playing Capture the Flag, Slayer or the new Ricochet game type, Pitfall will bring back memories of sweet, sweet carnage on The Pit. Game Type Ricochet Ricochet has pacing, strategy and unique mix of attack/defend dynamics. The objective of the game type is to protect your team’s goal (a zone that is similar to a Hill in King of the Hill) while scoring in the opposing goal, either by throwing or running the ball into the goal. Running the ball into the goal earns you 50 points, while throwing the ball into the goal gets you 20 points. The game type will be exclusive to the Bullseye Pack for a limited time of 2 weeks, after which it will become available to all players. The Bullseye Pack also includes the Ricochet armor (pictured above). 20. Recharge will give an early recharge to reduced shields. Approximately 1 1/2 seconds. Survivor will discharge you from a destroyed vehicle, in most cases, but you do loose shield strength. Massive splash damage can kill the enable player or the type of final destruction can affect this as well.

  22. When I first read this I kind of laughed, but then thought it is better than nothing. Having to buy a game you already own again just to play it on a the new XBOX One is, well, kind of a put off. I mean you want a game when it first hits the market, then realize you have to shell out another $60.00 for another copy plus the $500.00 for the new console. I guess my initial laugh was based on the thought, "Who is willing to pay $120.00 for a game when they can wait a month or two and get it for $60.00?" The DLC seems hardly any kind of an inducement to pay out that kind of money. I am not the one who could legitimately speak to the new console being backwards compatible for 360 games, but can figure the need for a dual purpose disk reader and supporting hardware/software may not be an easy task or financially viable. Hopefully someone who knows that field better than I can explain that matter. Here is the original story that caught my attention, plus the link to XBOX Wire for the statement in their own words. Microsoft's Xbox 360-One Season Pass Guarantee Most carry across. But there's a catch... By Robert Purchese Thursday, 15 August 2013 story found @ eurogamer.net "Good news*! Companies signing up to Microsoft's Season Pass Guarantee - and the big names apparently are - will give you automatic access to Season Passes for Xbox One games that you've bought on Xbox 360. *There's just one catch: you have to buy the game again on Xbox One. Activision, EA and Ubisoft were mentioned as participating, and Call of Duty: Ghosts and Battlefield 4 were name-dropped. It's better than nothing." story found @ eurogamer.net
