  1. Reach is not a good example. Halo 3 or 2 would be. When I said "false", it just means that I disagree with your opinion. When I said the original Halo community died, I meant the players Halo attracted in Halo CE, 2, and 3. Most of them are gone because of Halo 4. The majority of the population that's left are the infinity lovers. The people who find random elements in gameplay fine. About the dubstep cannon, it was just a hyperbole. But you can't say that personal ordnance is good for balanced gameplay. The main problem is that they give free stuff to players. That's a CoD thing. Not a Halo thing. Simply getting assists raises the ordnance bar. Players should fight for the weapons with map control and teamwork. Not having it handed to them from outer space.
  2. False. 343i turned core Halo gameplay into something random and imbalanced. Everything revolves around the infinity settings that single handedly killed the old Halo community. There's nothing nice or balanced about getting a dubstep cannon for 10 assists.

  4. Personal loadouts are bad. Spawning with a mini shotgun in your pocket is incredibly imbalanced.
  5. It just sounds like you want a whole different game, dude. Honestly, reading that first list made me cringe. Halo getting boring? Halo 4, maybe. But I think you're only playing the campaign man. Matchmaking gets boring quickly too because of the dumb infinity settings. You need to get yourself in some custom games and be reminded of how un-boring Halo can be.

    Yes. _____________________________________________________________ It's actually pretty stupid that Forge Island's water is basically a blue screen. Gone are the maps that incorporate blue water into their design like in Reach. Any Halo 4 map using the water feels tacky because the water doesn't feel like water. It was just lazy on 343's part to screw that up.
  8. It was said that the Great Anvils held a lot of secrets. I do believe we stumbled upon one. After reporting the discovery to HQ, Commander Mirage received orders to set up a base by the doors. This was a mistake. Now, I'm in charge and she is nowhere to be found. _______________________________________________________________ I haven't made a 1v1 map in a while. Figured it's time for another. That's how Mirage came to life. Mirage is asymmetric and is built on the lovely Forge Island. Mirage boasts great aesthetics which I'm very proud of. Her smooth curves and tasteful textures make her a pleasant sight to the eyes. You can feel like you're in actual place instead of just some random arena. I really tried to make her believable. I do hope I succeeded. I also thought about where I was going to build her and I think I hit the sweet spot. The windows are placed in a way where they actually show Forge Island's great scenery instead of an empty grassland. I also placed the map in an area where the sun hits it just right. Power weapons/powerups Sniper Rifle - 0 spare clips - 90s respawn Speed Boost - 120s respawn But enough about aesthetics. Let's talk gameplay. The map is very fast paced. Due to it's size, there are few moments where players spend a lot of time just trying to find each other. The map also blends long and short sightlines together very nicely. In the outskirts of the map, players are given long sightlines while the building in the middle provides plenty of CQC action. Mirage seems like it's gameplay would be donut-ish but this isn't the case. Fights happen everywhere and not just in the outskirts. This is because of the way the middle building is merged with the edges. It's a very quick way to get from one side of the map to the other and is also fairly protected. Players spawn with their own advantages at the start of a game. Starting Blue team spawns closer to the Speed Boost while starting Red team spawns closer to the sniper. This trade off works for the map because the person with Speed Boost is given enough movement options which will allow him to get closer to the sniper safely and engage in a more favorable situation. Not to mention he's harder to hit because of Speed Boost. As for the guy with the sniper, he is given plenty of long sightlines to work with. Dat teleporter doe. This teleporter design was drawn from Dax's Ciela The teleporter is quite useful in this map. It can be used as a means to escape.   9. Exactly. Throwdown is fine if there were actually people in it. I miss Reach's MLG though. Although I think 343 knows that having a lot of competitive playlists isn't good for them because most competitive players who were around in the old Halo days have all left. Just the casuals left now.

Final Update -One-way shield in the beginning has been replaced with a trait zone that still prevents humans from getting to the Flood spawn. -Soft kill barrier in the rocket launcher spawn in the second phase has been removed. -Removed a Shotgun in the first phase. -Made the map unbreakable. -Increased the spawn time of the second teleporter by one second. -Added video.   11. False. With Halo 4 having more bullet magnetism and aim assist than previous Halo games, sniping (and shooting, in general) is way easier. Correct. Agreed.
  12. False. The Binary Rifle, Dubstep Cannon, and the Boltshot are OP competitively speaking. First of all, The Boltshot is a mini shotgun in your pocket. The Dubstep Cannon is the Dubstep Cannon. The Binary is an insta-kill anywhere in the body. It's OP regardless of its ammo count.

  15. No. H2A should come out first. First of all, it's H2A. Who doesn't want that? Secondly, they've only been working on H5 for a year. That's about as long as they have with H4 and look what happened there. H4 destroyed the original community and brought in the Infinity-loving newbies. I want H5 to be delayed. I want it to be as good as and as mechanically sound as possible so that it'll be a step-up from the frustrating nightmare that is Halo 4.

    Medal Madness

    If some of you are unaware, a new gametype called Medal Madness was added into matchmaking just recently. Medal Madness is sort of a casual-competitive minigame (if there is even such a thing) and the purpose is to get as many of a certain medal as possible. There is a countdown on how long you can attempt getting the medal before it changes. The team who got the most of the required medal gets a point. Race to 7 points. I personally like this gametype and sadly, it gets taken out of matchmaking after a certain period of time. So if you're interested, go play it before it's too late!   18. I'm editing the map with these changes. Soon, this version will be available for all to download. I just need to test it first. This walkway is on a delayed spawn. It's basically a sneak route the Flood can use in the second phase. This is because the Flood sometimes run out of options (and fun ) when there are too many humans in the second phase. The idea behind the map was to create a fast-paced map where players can feel like there's an actual story behind the map and will have to use teamwork to achieve success. With City of Grey's aesthetics and phases, it accomplishes this goal. This linear Flood map is a difficult one. It's difficult but it's not impossible. If the humans coordinate with one another, they will succeed. This map is inspired by the fast-paced gameplay of Favela Vengeance and the classic Halo feeling brought by the Warthog run of Coastal Highway. MAJOR UPDATE (Check OP for screenshots) -Added hard routes from the bases to top mid. -Added more cover and verticality to bottom mid so that it's not just a stump and a flat area. -Closed off the drop from top mid to bottom mid. -Made the map compatible with Ricochet and Oddball. Both gametypes are yet to be tested. -Moved the snipers to the back routes of each base. -Moved Rockets to top mid and placed and Overshield at bottom mid. -Added a rock path from the huts to the back routes to improve the circular flow of the map. -Minor aesthetic changes.
