  1. Well, just saw all of Halo 5's campaign. I am impressed. This should be fun...

  2. Thank God and everyone who gave me birthday money...I can get it now!

  3. The H5 gamerpics are amazing.

Well, you can get them off the site, or on your One.

  4. They do look a lot better. Excellent work making them truly Halo-styled, SD.
  5. I thought Chief would be searching for a way to bring her back in H5, but going off of the trailers that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm fine with her either coming back or staying dead, but whatever the case is, I'm sure it'll be interesting one way or another. But, uh, Kakashi, when you make a truly sentient machine or program, he/she will count as a person just as much as you do.
  6. Overall, across the board, my most used weapon would be the Battle Rifle, with the Carbine a close second. My favorite pulled from all four games would be the H2 Beam Rifle though. It's the most accurate sniper weapon in all the games so far, and handles in such a way that I can use it as a primary except at close range. My ideal weapon pairing for fighting Covenant and Prometheans is the Battle Rifle and Beam Rifle together. Naturally Flood make me change it up, but hey, things could get boring if they didn't.
  7. Does that mean I could record and upload a Halo MCC playthrough without a capture card?
  8. I love how the RvB S13 finale makes you feel as Church does. Too bad about the cliffhanger though.

They really do overuse that cliffhanger ending... It's in everything now that's a running series...

      Caboose The Ace

I really didn't like it, Church already died in season 6. Killing off a character and then bringing the character back, only to kill him again. Hardly has any amount of impact on you again. Besides I'm sure we will see him again.

It was much better done this time, Caboose. And I think it has more impact because usually characters don't come back after dying twice. That makes me think Church won't be back except maybe in flashbacks. If they do return after the second death, it becomes a big deal either in a good way or in a "near unkillable force of evil" way.

  9. On the morning of October third, I woke up, washed my face, and ate some breakfast. As usual, I loaded up the site first chance I got (which with the return of power to my house after the devastating typhoon that struck Saipan, was immediately) and saw an odd notification. A new comment, from none other than sonic exe42. I was surprised, since normally I only get those from Fishy, with regard to DBZ Abridged. That stuff is awesome, by the way, but I digress. The first thing that came to mind, actually, was that I might be the new member of the month and it was a congratulations. I had occasionally wondered in the past if I'd get that distinction. But my mind dismissed the thought as silly while I loaded up my profile to view the comment. Then my eyes grew wide. Because on my profile was the biggest surprise I've ever had in all my time here: my own group being listed as Member of the Month. I scrolled down. It was indeed a congratulations. And so I went to the Member of the Month topic posted by RSR. I read the main post. I read all the comments, and liked them all to offer my thanks (except Saral's. Keep your like count excellent as it is, my friend.), sincerely honored to see all the congratulations and comments about my Halo skills and advice. In that moment, I felt wonderful because I could see that I've actually been of help, and honored that all of you either thought I had already been MoM or that I had it coming for quite some time. The irony is that a few months ago, I once told Bnus I believed I had very little chance of being MoM. He told me differently, but I never quite believed him. You were right though, Master of Bread. So I thank you all, not only for the motherhood itself but for believing that I truly deserved it. It really does mean a lot to me. There are far too many of you to list individually and knowing how bad I am with names I'd probably miss a few by accident and be completely embarrassed the next time I saw you post or shout. So unfortunately, I can't do a Fishy-style individual address. I will say that I felt a bit of pressure with the honor as well. But that isn't really a bad thing in this case. You guys showed a high regard for my Halo skills in the campaign area, and with the power having just recently returned, the day I was awarded MoM was also the day of my return to Halo after a forced 2 month break. I was a bit nervous that my skills might have dropped, but thank God, that doesn't seem to be the case. A nice deficit of deaths throughout a Halo 2 playthrough and a particularly crazy encounter during the Regret boss fight showed me that. That encounter...it definitely fits in with the Osiris cinematic somewhat. Given that I was on Legendary and have no Spartan Abilities I find that absolutely insane. A sword Elite charged me after surprising me around a corner. I just barely sidestepped, only to find ANOTHER coming around the corner. I jumped over them both at that point, avoiding two simultaneous swings, then turned around and used the Plasma Pistol and Carbine combo on both. As I went back to my original position, a third came around, and I had to do the same to him. Then I saw a red dot on my radar coming up behind me way too fast to be a Grunt, jumped backwards over him, and performed the combo on what turned out to be yet another sword Elite. Then a few plasma rounds hit me in the back and I spun around while moving behind a pillar just in time to not die. When he came around the pillar I ended up having to quickly combo the Plasma Rifle Elite responsible, finishing with a downed shield and narrowly dodging a blast from Regret that I heard coming from the left. All that craziness in a span of 10 seconds. What motivated me throughout the whole thing though was upholding the standard RSR mentioned in the MoM post itself. So if you guys ever need help with any section of CE, 2, 3, or 4...just ask. I'll do my absolute best to help you. You can post requests here, in fact. The other part of the pressure was Halo 5 related. While I can't offer any help in the area of LASO, I'm honored that you guys expect tips from me in Halo 5 as well. I don't know when I can get it...but whenever that time comes, I'll make sure to deliver. See, the pressure here is good in a way because it gives me a reason not to let you guys down. There's a standard for me to continue to meet and I will always aim to do so. An interesting fact is that the month I was given this title is the month of my birth. So I guess, in a way, I can see this as an early birthday present from you guys. It's certainly a nice one. Once again, thanks to all of you. Honor to the end!
  10. You know, a man once said the following. "I'm a dishonest man. And a dishonest man you can always trust...to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you've got to watch out for...because you never know when they're going to do something extremely...stupid." Therefore, Caboose is the most honest man here.
  11. Well, now we know what Chief's death announcement was all about. This commercial is nice, for sure. Very nice visuals and a little more light shed on the story.
  12. Whoa. This was the biggest surprise loading up the site this morning. I feel honored that so many of you think I had this coming, especially when honestly I wasn't expecting it at all. So thank you. All of you. Really glad to see I've been of some help with those tips I've been handing out. I see a few comments about LASO...heheh. Now that is definitely outside my area of expertise. Haven't ever done a serious LASO attempt before, and I'm kinda planning to save trying that for the MCC and H5. Wouldn't wanna run through that living hell twice now, right? As for H5 Legendary, I fully intend to master that and help others do the same, no matter how long it takes...whenever I can get a One. It certainly looks like it'll be one seriously fun and variable ride. If I can find multiple equally viable solutions to the same problem I'll try and mention all of them when walking people through it. Both cash and check donations accepted. Foreign currency should be converted before being sent. I suppose I should make a MoM post. Not sure how I want to go about it...but sometime this month, I should get it up. Once again, thank you. Perhaps this will sound a bit...fishy...but I love you all.
  13. The Chief has been presumed dead on more than one occasion. This is no spoiler at all.
  14. Episode 50 was easily one of the best Abridged episodes ever.

Really? I found it sorta of a letdown on the comical side.

I loved Cell and Vegeta's banter, especially that part about talking out of the rear, DNA, and that comeback being the most damaging thing Cell had done.

  15. Yes, Osiris would have certainly died attempting that if there was no chaos to throw off the Covenant, but if Blue Team were as superior to them as you say, they could do that without the chaos..and history has shown that they most certainly can't. Osiris wasn't trained as well, but that doesn't make it impossible to catch up, or to almost catch up. Now the II's have superior augmentations they can never have because by their nature they had to be installed during adolescence to work properly, but Osiris' superior tech makes up for the augmentation gap. That leaves the only factor being skill, which Blue Team will of course have an advantage in. Just not a completely insurmountable one. Vale may have been recruited mainly for her other skills, but as we've all seen, her combat ability is nothing short of top-notch. Same goes for the rest of them.
  16. The II's can't have had over 40 years of combat experience because that comes close to their chronological age, which is significantly reduced by cryo. Osiris is definitely not going to find them without engaging. The trailers and story material released so far have made that quite clear. I rather think they do stand a chance. If Blue Team is superior to Osiris to the point that they could actually curbstomp them with barely a fight, a single member would be able to take on dozens of Covenant in a big open area, with vehicles against them, while hardly taking a scratch to the shields and while leaving literally no survivors. And as we all know, there isn't any one Spartan who could do that.
  17. Pulling a Grunt off a ghost has been possible since Halo 2, and smashing through rocks was literally demonstrated twice in the Osiris gameplay video. Shooting while avoiding a sword swing is also possible, again ever since Halo 2. (I've done it. It's risky and I never do it unless it's the only option, but it's doable.) The fact that it was one handed is just an animation difference, but the essence of what was done can be done in gameplay, and nearly as fast as the cinematic showed if not just as fast. Osiris is indeed made up entirely of battle hardened combat vets. Maybe not from that far back, but they know what they're doing and they're clearly the most skilled Spartan-IV's in existence. With the assistance provided by their top of the line suits, they can do things no other IV's can. You don't pick just any team to hunt down the Master Chief. Blue Team's style in their cinematic is less over the top, it seems, but they could pull off the moves Osiris did just as well if not better. Of that, I have no doubt. It's not that the II's suck, Caboose. It's that the IV's have the potential to be good as well.
  18. The Osiris cinematic made perfect sense and can be replicated in gameplay with enough skilled and quick use of the Spartan abilities. There was nothing whatsoever about it that was dumb. Also, I know several real soldiers. Osiris' interactions are much closer to how real soldiers act. Spartan-IV's other than Osiris have shown behavior closer to average highschool freshmen, but Osiris seems on point. Blue Team's interactions are quite different from real soldiers, but at the same time are just as believable because of their different experiences from real soldiers. They were kidnapped together, trained together from the age of six, fought together for years. Naturally this will produce a different dynamic from people who enlisted after the age of 18 and were placed together for missions afterward.
  19. Maybe not quite as impressive or entertaining as the Osiris cinematic, but it was cool nonetheless. Shows the Blue Team dynamic at least. And you gotta give them credit: they killed 3 Elites without even attacking them.
  20. I read this thread simply because I find it entertaining and informative, even if I'm not asking questions. Does this surprise you?
  21. I was looking for games to get from my friends that I could run off my laptop. Halo CE was one of them. I popped it open, expecting to beat the game once and get a bit of fun out of an average game. When I actually played it, I literally said "Holy crap. This is the best game I've ever played." I wanted to try more, so I played more of CE, and then went to a console arcade where I would play the console games for a dollar an hour. I loved Halo even more on a console, since everything was smoother and there was so much more content there, and at that point I decided I had to get an Xbox 360 of my own. Ended up fortunate enough to get one for Christmas, and I've been hooked on Halo ever since. I'm a fairly new fan, only with roughly 3 years of Halo, but I love the game to the point I'm more into it than some veterans from '01.
  22. Chris, you have failed this city! Welcome to the forums. I'm an Arrow fan too, so this is interesting.
  23. That trailed looked like Avengers: Age of Spartans. It was still awesome.
