  1. It serves its purpose, both as a crowd control and vehicle-disabler as above mentioned and a powerful short-range tool. If you're attacked by someone with a melee weapon or shotgun at close range and you have a concussion rifle you can just lay into them and the continuing blind/stun/knockback will kill them before they can get close enough. Personally, though, I'd also love the Brute Shot to compliment the Sticky Detonator, seeing as they're both explosives.
  2. ...I had no idea. Now that I think about it, it seems like a showcase of the OP's creativity/character masked as a community activity. Still...
  3. I would like to see the Brute Chopper and Brute Shot, either the Prowler or the Revenant, and (Don't sue me) the Needle Rifle to complement the Carbine in the same way the DMR does the Battle Rifle. It would also be luvverly to see the return of the Sentinal Beam as a Promethean weapon.
  4. Hoo-rah for creativity. Think I'm going to add a little Halo 4 flair in here, despite your want of Reach designs. Name - UNSC Indomitable Basic design - Interceptor Armor - Common black color basically, though in many places it has been tinted crimson. Number of crew - 800 Vehicle bay contents - Able to carry and deploy four pelicans. Has somewhat deficient and therefore almost unused ODST pods. Other Information - Equipped with four heavy, pivoting machine turrets defensively and Previous Deployment - Damaged heavily during the end of the Human-Covanant war but rebuilt and re-designated 'Indomitable'. Spartan Name - Revel Callsign - m003 Preferred Weapon - DMR and Magnum, though he's finding the Lightrifle to his tastes Armour designs - Air Assault helmet, Operator shoulders, Breacher chestpiece Armour colors - Sage and gold Emblem - harlequin Previous deployments - Before becoming a Spartan IV, Revel was deployed extensively during the end of the Human-Covanant war. Encounters with MC - As a Spartan of Majestic Team, Revel aided Master Chief during his trials on Requiem. Any other Information that does fit anywhere else - An impressive marksman and a jolly fellow, Revel fits in easily both on and off the battlefield.
  5. Two projectiles would be kinda cool, but sadly there will be no new weapons in Halo 4 other than the 10 revealed. I do have high hopes for the return of the Brute Shot and the Sentinel Beam as a Promethean-class weapon, though.
  6. Great idea with great potential but easily abusable, and having someone to screen all the entries would be tedious and boring. Still, I fully support this, especially since my planned Spartan Ops squad with a few of my buddies might masquerade as the Four Horsemen--"Many know the Reaper but I don't know you."
  7. Looks great. Once again, you gotta admire the sheer amount of work 343i is putting into this game--props to them. Many of those Promethean concept and weapon designs look amazing as well, though they explained well why they chose what they did.
  8. Although I've been anticipating and would love to see a Covanant weapons spotlight, I think the dubstep is unnecessary. Too many things nowadays are branded with it in the hopes of instant popularity. Besides, hearing the new weapons sounds is always delightful (Though there was a wub-less option available for the UNSC weapons video)
  9. This pleases me. As stated in the article, a brand-spankin' new class of enemies is another thing entirely from simply adding an enemy or two. I think the Prometheans and practically everything relating to them looks excellent, though at this point I'm testing the boundaries of hype for this game.
  10. I'm glad I could be of assistance. I have some new accoutrement as well. If you're the kind of person who would rather recline and watch a video rather than sifting through scads of imagine files, I have found an all-inclusive Halo 4 Armor video from Pax. Who knows, maybe it has something that Benishroom and I missed. Once again, if this is privileged content I'll remove the vid in an instant. I'm sure that this list at least includes Scanner and Strider, acquirable through purchase of the War Games map pack. In the latest Halo 4 bulletin (Actually at the Halo 4 Pax Panel) two revelations took place. One is the reassuring announcement that the list of color options for armor will be expounded upon or refined, and the other is the momentarily saddening deconfirmation of the Mark V helmet, as well as the declaration of the armor shown as Pax being everything that's shipping with the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19nznZGyuw0
  11. So far, Mark V1, Recon, Scout, EVA, and Rogue helmets are confirmed, though some are of course altered a little. Hayabusa and Marathon are discontinued and will not be returning. I would be extremely surprised if Mark V, CQB, Security, and ODST permutations didn't make their return. Personally I think it would be a nice touch if the Mark IV helmet was put in, just for grins. It would also be great if you could decal your emblem onto different parts of your Spartan's body, like their chest or helmet/visor. I got a kick out of the shark/smiley/frowny face visors in RvB.
  12. Some sort of drop shield grenade wouldn't happen to have been inspired from the 'Hail Mary' in RvB in any way, would it? As for my thoughts on the armor ability selection, I'm well pleased. Camo looks good, apparently holograms are better this time around as well, and the jet pack (Now more of a jump pack) alteration looks good. My only criticisms would be the length of the dash provided by the thruster pack and not sure why the hardlight shield was put into third-person.
  13. Link to the original thread on the Waypoint forum - https://forums.halo....pdated-9-3.aspx Disclaimer: List compiled and edited by Benishroom using information from as far back as E3 to the more recent Pax. I am not responsible for it, only for shamelessly copy/pasting it here for your viewing pleasure. I'm quite sure this isn't quite representative of the final product, but has many elements that will be present in it. If this is leaked information I really shouldn't have posted here I thoroughly apologize in advance and promise that I will remove it if asked by an administrator. Without further ado, the compendium. Hope you found this as interesting and hype-boosting as I did! Even more than ever I'm excited to play this game--the degree of customization you'll have over both your character and your gameplay (Based on playstyle specified by loadouts) will be simply amazing. And this isn't even the final form!
  14. My idea is this: the commanders of the Spartan Ops have recieved a distress beacon from the Master Chief that he is pinned down outside a targeted Forerunner installation. The four Spartans are dispatched on a perilous, danger-ridden ride through the jungle on two Mongeese, armed with a bomb to deliver to the installation's doorstep. After driving through the jungle and blasting through any opposition, the four Spartans arrive at the installation where they escort the bomb carrier through several lines of Promethean defenses and then detonate it at the front door. Then they have to survive the full attention of the Promethean defences during their retreat through the jungle while the Chief infiltrates the installation, furthering the campaign. My thought process behind this would be that it's a high-octane, dangerous but awesome adventure through the jungle, helping out the chief with a bomb, and then back again.
  15. This would be very, very useful and worth the time and effort of implementing it. It's a small thing, but small things that improve the flow of the game can be icing on the cake.
  16. Now everyone whining about all the new somewhat strange-looking helmets like Pioneer and Fotus can have their decidedly military, more vanilla-esque helmets. Everyone's happy. Especially me, after seeing the new EOD, EVA, Aviator, Venator...I could go on. Pretty hyped.
  17. I agree with Tailgeese about the weapon variations. It's astonishing really how much control we'll have over our playstyle this time around. Why, we're even getting medics (Regeneration fielders)! As for this incinerator cannon, looks pretty cool. I couldn't quite tell if the projectile was a huge explosion, bounced like the Fuel Rod, or maybe even left something like fire on the ground it hit, which would be pretty cool if you ask me.
  18. I was thinking the same thing the other day. There was an abundance of water in Halo Reach's forge world, and from what I've seen on Ravine there's a good amount there too. My idea would be to make the water an actual element instead of an animation over a killzone, so that anything immersed in it actually displaces it. I could see this taking a long time to implement, though, so it's unlikely. As for my other ideas, I'd want there to be a switchable palette between human, covanant, and forerunner-themed objects. I also know it's been deconfirmed, but an undo tool and a mass movement tool would be nice as well.
  19. Who wouldn't like wearing the head of your enemy as a helmet? I think it would be pretty cool and not too hard to implement, seeing as they already have the model ready and waiting.
  20. Rogue and Wetwork have their obvious usefulness (As well as neat armor) but I feel like Stalker and Operator would be good choices too. Stalker opens up a whole range of strategic thinking and the enemy team's movements, while Operator is the clutch specialization for the team's designated pilot or driver, which I usually end up being. Out of all of them Operator armor looks the coolest IMO so I'll go with that.
  21. This video made me very happy. I can't see a single thing so far I don't like about this game. The weapons, the AAs, the vehicles, the mechanics; it's all good if this video is anything to go by.
  22. Personally I think that the more the merrier. I'm sure that they'll be plenty of traditiona armor, but having a bunch of new, outlandish, science-fictiony stuff is fun too. One of the most fun things about this game that differentiates it from...certain others, is that it doesn't care to be unrealistic if it means having a good time.
