  1. Sniper, best long range, arguably the best anti-vehicle and if skilled enough, handy in mid-close quarters.

    BxR in halo 4

BxR made it that you did a melee followed by a BR shot instantly (removed the anamation of lowering the gun). BxB was the same but followed by a 2nd melee. Then you had what few could manage to do was the RRX(YY), which was a glitch that shot 2 br shots instead of 1 (and the yy so you can do it a 2nd time without delay). I dont think it added skill, you basically just had a auto kill whenever in melee range, whoever was first or had better conection usually won. And I noticed OP didnt mention the RRX, I would bet you couldnt pull it off and wouldnt be happy that would return now would you? In the end I had to know these things since it was needed to play at higher levels, even though Bungie has stated weapon glitches are in the same boat as super jumps and are cheating. I am certain these things will not return.
  3. i feel like gameplay wise, Reach did better then Halo 3 (after TU). Super Slayer feels a lot like Halo 2, which in my opinion is the most competitive Halo and had the best gameplay. Halo 3 was slightly disapointing for me but was okay overall. However, I wish that Halo 4 has the things OP has mentionned like no armor abilities and a visible ranking system.
  4. Playlists that are always in halo are: -Team Slayer -Team Objectives -FFA -Big team battle -team snipers -team swat We expect to see after release: -MLG -Grifball -Action sack And recently its expected to have : -Coop -Firefight -Invasion
  5. I dont like the idea of it being like CoD. Usually in Halo a player quits when he gets dominated, that being said, when you will join a "started" game, the score will be something like 40-20 against you. Not fun in my opinion. Also, some of the more competitive players that keep track of weapon spawns in the game will no longer have any rythme, just making the game less skilled for him in general. The only way I could see it work is if the only case where a game could be joined is if the score diffriential is only +/- 5 kills, 1 flag cature and so on depending on gametype.
  6. I dont care that much, as long as there is no bleedthrough melee like in Halo 3. I prefer Halo 2 and Reaches style as it feels less like run and gun then melee and more like shoot, if too close melee and jump back and be first to get a headshot.
  7. Im not sure what you mean by "power-ups". Reach didnt have any in Matchmaking. Unless you are talking about Armor Abilities.
  8. The only issue I would have with individual skill taking part in rank is that people would want to betray to attain those power weapons so they might rank up even if they loose. If anything, I think it would make things worse. And after second thought, betrayals deminishing rank is a bad idea when it comes to derankers. And it would be a bad idea to "plateau" a persons highest skill.
  9. Mentionned this in the betray thread, but I'd like to see an on topic discussion to see what everyone thinks. I think it would be cool and fun to know how much damage was given/taken to teammates and ennemies. It would be fun to see if you are not finishing enough, being too reckless on teammates and just see how many near death instances I go through in a game. the only way I could see them showing a stat like this would be if they rate damage from a scale of 0-100 of base player sheilds/health. Meaning if in the end game you did 2025 damage to the other team and only have 14 kills (1400 dmg) would mean you slowed the other team down enough to kill 6 (600 dmg) of them and shot another player with a 4-shot kill weapon (like a BR [25 dmg]). What do you think?
  10. Im not too fond of the rebound damage and auto-boot idea, I still believe mercy is required. But what if instead the game notices the FF damage you deliver within a game. Say it noticed you damaged your teamates enough that it could have killed 2 teammates. At this moment, the last player to take damage gets to make a boot decision, whether they died or not. After this point, the option returns after every value of a betrayals worth of damage has been done. (And this reminds me, it would be cool to have an end game stat on damage given/taken to teammates and ennemies). This could help for those players following you around damaging you but never actually killing you. And the actual kill betrayls will still give the option after 2 betrayals.
  11. You cant change the community, but for fixing the "boot happy" players I'd say the best cure is a rank system. Add a "tip" that shows when you load that says "Carefull about banning accidental betrayls, it could just hurt your chances of ranking up!". People will want to rank up, and will realise Halo is a game that requires a team to win.
  12. I agree, if you remove the -1 for the team you could help avoid de-rankers (assuming theres a rank system), and a +1 to death would suffice as a replacement penalty for the current betray systeme. And yes, usually the higher ranking players are so because they play in teams, but that has nothing to do with betrayls.
  13. I didnt play ZB, but Super Slayer really gives a skill gap in the players. Its always fun winning a game being the only positive player on the team, winning a match thats 2 on 4 for a full game, and loosing with a personal score of 28 - 3 - 6...
  14. To be honest I think the best solution is to add a ranking system. Give the player a reason to win, not just play for lulz and K/D and no real penalty from bertaying and loosing a match. I dont recall this being as much of an issue in H2 and H3. For the issue of players not knowing when to engage or to throw a nade, well you should exceed there rank in no time and be free of lower skilled players.
  15. What about such events as trying to snipe and a teammate purposly shoves his face in your shot trying to **** you over since he "wanted" the sniper.
  16. Yeah I would have to say the friendly fire system is definiantly not what needs a change, but rather the boot system. I think the player should have a choice, what if at the event of a betrayels, only then we get to see the "killcam" so we get to judge if its accidental or not? They could always go with a L4D style, where a vote can be made anytime and if more then 50% of the team agrees then he is booted. Or go with a completly random, idea I came up with. What if you take a penalty for booting som1 regardless of reasons? It would give players a need to reflect if its really worth it, in other words, will it really help the team? Which is the point of the boot system in the first place? to get ride of habitual/ intentional betrayers? Now what could possibly make people reflect on booting to see if the players removal is worth the punishement? A instant death? A longer respawn? a "time-out" on picking up power weapons or accesing vehicles? I think this could work, I couldnt see why not, other then the obvious penalty on the innocent player, however like mentionned above, the only time a boot is needed is when the team is better off without the player, so a small penalty for the removal of such player could still help the team in the end. But I think the L4D boot system is the best.
  17. You cant teach a noob not to throw a nade when he shouldnt (ex: teammates are in melee range of enemie), the only resault would be the teammate getting a -1. I think the only cure for it is them learning not to do such things from other players. However, it would help in situations where a player tries to betray for a power weapon. So far I think they should maybe just remove friendly fire, would make the game less skilled oriented, but would reduce the ***hole moments. Then again, if they include a ranking system players might care more about winning then things like K/D.
  18. I choose Reach (Super Slayer settings), I hated the bleedthrough from Halo 3, made the game feel too much like a run and melee game. The Super Slayer settings are what I think are most near to Halo 2. And I would prefer a game that resembles Halo 2.
  19. I got into it way back when me and a friend used to go rent a game every weekend. We got Halo CE after it released and we loved everything about the game. When I heard about Halo 2, I wanted it very bad, I asked for it for xmas the holiday season it was released as well as getting XBL before. Halo 2 was my first XBL experience, and it was the one I enjoyed the most. I think generally people will favore a game that is there first XBL FPS that they own, I would like to know if others feel the same way.
