This info is real and straight from the newest Halo novel, Halo: Primordium. I am pretty sure chief willl crash onto the shield world and there is a battle already going on in side the shield world and chief fights his way back to the UNSC. 343 announced that the Masterchief will get most of his ammo from the frigate. Well they do rescue him.. Maybe he had to hold out until they actually got to him? Just remember..
