Gametype: Medieval Slayer

 

This gametype recreate an intense medieval battle and it's based on 3 balanced classes: Knight,Paladin and Archer.

 

Knight

  • The Knight is a balanced class that has both defensive and offensive strategies;
  • He is equipped with a Sword(Energy Sword) and a Shield(Hardlight Shield);
  • Strong against Archers;
  • Weak against Paladins;
  • His shield is unlimited.

Paladin

  • Assault Class;
  • He is equipped with an Hammer(Gravity Hammer) and a Rock(Plasma Grenade);
  • Has unlimited sprint;
  • his hammer can overcome the shields;
  • Strong against Knights;
  • Weak against Archers.

Archer

  • Long ranged class;
  • Equipped with a Bow(Railgun) and a Quiver(Ammo Perk);
  • Strong against Paladins;
  • Weak against Knights.

I really enjoyed playing this gametype, so i shown this to you.

At first I was going to suggest you turn off weapon pickup, so people can't overcome the rock-paper-scissor balance, but then I realized the Hardlight shield, Mobility, Ammo trio was pretty balanced in itself (Though the ammo seems kind of underpowered compared to the other two if you can't stay alive to use the entire quiver.) I really love the feel of the game (especially using railguns as bows, that's awesome) and can't wait to try it out myself!

 

Oh, few more questions: Is this a team regicide or slayer variant? Although slayer is just fine, I think it would be really cool if you had to protect your king (to go along with the entire medieval theme.) Also, is the personal ordnance always set to a railgun, overshield, and pulse grenade? If so, I was just curious what your motivation in that was. But anyways, the gameplay looks amazing.

Mediaval Wars: Expansion is out!

  • Added two more classes: The Wizard(Needler,Plasma Pistol,Promethean Nades,Autosentry) as a supportive class, and the Assassin(Boltshot and Active Camo) as a Stealth class;
  • This two new classes break the Rock/Scissor/Paper mechanic for a more complex Rock/Scissor/Paper/Lizard/Spock, if you get the reference;
  • Weapon Pickup turned off;
  • Unlimited ammos;
  • added potions(power-ups) as personal ordenance(Speed Boost/Overshield/Demange Boost)
  • added 5 shmeefs around the map, each one with a different class;
  • removed rock from Paladin loadout;
  • Removed the ammo perk from Archer.

This is a team slayer variant but i'm working on a team regicide variant too.
