Halo 4 LE

Hey everyone,

It kind of upsets me the way people all over the internet are saying that the Halo 4 LE is a rip off, especially the ones who complain about how if you buy the DLC pass separately., you will get the helmets, but if you get LE, you wont the helmets. This is quite wrong. http://blogs.haloway...tin-91912-.aspx Look here and scroll to the bottom. Under Halo 4 Limited Edition in the middle column, you can see the following: Halo 4 War Games Map Pass

Launch Day Access to Sx Specializations

UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet

See that? It sais "Halo 4 War Games Map Pass"

If you scroll down even further you get this: Halo 4 War Games Map Pass $24.99 USD Access to Nine Competitive Multiplayer Maps

(Three Future War Games Map Packs, Each

Including Three Maps)

That looks like Halo 4 War Games Map Pass. Oh and look more, it says the map pass grants you access to these helmets and emblem.

So, Halo 4 LE doesn't seem to be a rip off.

Halo 4 costs $60. LE cost $100. So if you do the math, buy the regular edition it will cost 60 + 25 = 85. But, with an extra $15, you get an epic hard case, inside you get an epic metal case, you also get all these free goodies inside like the schematic. You also get the FUD (which is download only :() an armor skin and an assault rifle skin. That sounds very worth it in my opinion.

Anyway, I hope those who wont get the LE for silly reasons will reconsider. I know for sure that silver case will look epic with my collection.

I won't stop you.

I'm afraid you're wrong. The LE War Games Map Pass does not include the 2 helmets, they are exclusive for the Standalone Map Pass. Micro$oft decided to make them different. Also, the schematics are available for everyone online.

No, the standalone map pass is a code. The map pass in the limited edition is also a code. they are both codes on the same peice of cardboard. you will still get the helmets. But if what you are saying is true, 343i stuffed up bigtime. Seriously, it's very easy to make lots of money in market sales. think about this: How much does it cost to generate a code, and make it generate an item in the virtual world? literally nothing, like 10 cents maybe. Then to print it out on a card another 5 cents. So if they can spend 15 cents to make a map pass, and then charge 25 dollars on it, they can profit like hell. So, why can't they add heeeeeeeeeeeps of digital in-game content to LE, it only would cost them 15 cents to make a piece of cardboard that gives you heeps of exclusive helmets and armor and emblems, then charge 25 dollars for it. Then everyone will be like "zomg this LE gives out so much awesome goodies lets fork out an extra $40 to get the LE!" Profit much.

As most of you may know, the Limited Edition content is not so limited anymore. Early access to the Specializations will be given to everyone who plays the game by November 20th. The FUD Extended Edition will be streamed over Halo Waypoint instead of being on the disk or being available for download (you will need a constant internet connection to watch it). The Map Pass that comes with the Limited Edition is cheaper, but the Standalone Map Pass will give you two Exclusive helmets. The other additional content, like the blueprints and papers, will be available for everyone to read online.

At this point, it's not really worth paying 100$ for the Limited Edition. You will save a lot of money by downgrading to the Standard Edition for 60$ and then buy Standalone Map Pass for 25$, which actually gives you the same, if not more, content. I will downgrade my pre-order and get the Standard Edition instead. What about you?

Maybe you should look at the last post on that topic... Here, I'll bring it to you.

That's quite enough. Just because you didn't get a bulletin telling you that the people who are buying the LE are still getting the same thing that they were always told to be getting does NOT mean you can start flaming and being rude.

This thread and issue has more than run it's course. Any more threads on the subject will be locked on sight as there is absolutely NO need to hash out the issue any further. Feel free to continue discussing other, non leaked aspects of Halo 4 however do not start other topics about this subject.

Thanks.

Now, let's dissect this a bit, because I know it's not blatantly obvious what snickerdoodle is saying here. Basically, the reason that Microsoft/343i didn't release a statement about the LE was because they didn't make any changes to the LE.

The only changes that were made LE wise was that the included some of the things that were LE exclusive for SE buyers as well. So yes, you are still getting all the stuff they said you were getting (including the scanner helmets and such) because they haven't said you weren't getting that.

The post you are using as your source is from a normal member, and actually didn't mention anything about there being such a thing as the "Standalone Map Pack" and the "LE Map Pack". And I have seen no conclusive proof that there even IS a difference except from some members who've heard it from other members who've heard it from other members who've heard it from inconsistent sources like H4Follower or a troll.

Honestly, this sounds just like the "OMG THEY AREN'T GONNA HAVE RECON IN REACH, WHATRUDOIN BUNGIE?!?!!?!" thing that happened a month before the release of Halo Reach. :/

If I'm honest I like the idea of standard edition people getting helmets with the pass.

If they're unable to get the LE, they can still buy the map pass, and they get an added treat!

Where as those who have the limited edition, we have;

- Great looking case

- War Games Pass

- Instant access to all 8 specializations (No waiting for them to be unlocked over time once we reach SR-50)

- UNSC Infinity briefing package, with goodies

- Extended edition of FUD

- A bunch of downloadable stuff

Very grateful I was able to secure a copy, definitely will look great in my room :) Next to my Halo books once I secure all them!

Can't wait to get my hands on the game. Thankfully I'm getting me some security (In the form of a sibling and her German Shepard :D) to escort me to the midnight release and back, as I'm wary about going out so late (I'm a weakling, I know!)

I might of just rambled...I do apologize if I did, a second book I ordered arrived today. It's set in the Shannara universe, by Terry Brooks. Fantasy type books, absolutely adore them :)

I'm going to stop rambling now >.>

Then I will ask you this question, Director: Why is that in the list of LE content, it says that you will get the future DLC and Map Packs, but mentions nothing about the helmets. But when you look up the Standalone Map Pass that is not included with Le, because they are apparently different, it states that you will get the future DLC Map Packs AND the two exclusive helmets? I'm getting kind of confused myself, I really don't know what to believe.

Actually Derp and Director here is proof that the LE War Games Map Pass does not come with the Scanner and Strider Helmet and Falcon Emblem: https://twitter.com/...590355480604672 From BS Angel herself, "The Scanner and Strider helmets come with the standalone Halo 4 War Games Map Pass (and not the LE)"

The LE really is kinda disappointing though. Most of the stuff it offers can be found later or online for free. lol

Yep pretty much...FUD will be more worthwhile on DVD/BluRay. The pamphlets and booklets will be online, and the avatar items are meh...The skins are really the only ones I like in the LE.
