  1. Sorry I meant to say Counter Strike as a whole series, not CSGO specifically, my bad. What do you mean by RPG? Like Role-Playing-Game? Counter Strike isn't anything like an RPG, yet knife makes you run faster, so does pistols, and heavy weapons make you run slower. It's not something directly tied only to RPG game. I think we would want Halo to be irregular. If it's not irregular, then it's mediocre. Which means there is no real purpose to playing specifically Halo because it's not unique and every other FPS out there offers a very similar gameplay. I understand where you are going with sprinting, and it exactly proves to me why it should be removed. If it's going to be in the game, it has to have these delays and nerfs to balance it. Whats the point of having it if it sucks? Spartans can sprint, that's why I'm proposing that the default movement speed be increased to a sprint. Spartans are very advanced, they should be able to sprint, and shoot at the same time. Look at Advanced Warfare for example. Visually comparing, an augmented spartan, taking super drugs and wearing armor weighing nearly a tonne, vs a standard soldier wearing an exo suit. Obviously the spartan is 100x better, yet in the video games, they both sprint the same, jump the same, heck the exo suit has better thrusting capabilities than a spartan's armor which is made 500 years into the future. Surely, this is proof enough that allowing spartans to sprint just isn't enough. They are far beyond lowering their weapon and sprinting.
  2. AR and SMG need nerfing, Sniper scope needs to be changed, the blue tint when scoped makes thing hard to see. Clamber is annoying because you cant shoot while doing it, thus if you clamber and you enter someones line of sight, you're pretty much dead. But I like the lower jump height, makes bunny hopping better, and gameplay doesn't feel as 'floaty' as it does in other games. Sprint should be removed, but before you guys flame me, here's why: I rarely ever use it. It stops you're shields from recharging and there's a delay before you can shoot when you finish sprinting, thus sprinting around a corner into enemy line of sight = disadvantage for you. It has no benefit being in the game other than to travel distances quicker, it also doesn't make you run that much faster. It should be removed, and spartan base running speed should permanently increase. Let's say for EXAMPLE default speed is 100%. Sprint makes you go 150%. Sprint gets removed and running speed is bumped a bit more than halfway to 130%. Now before you people say "mah supersoldiers they should be able to sprint" think about this. NO ONE complains and says that Counter Strike needs to evolve because there is NO aim down sight or sprint. So why does Halo, a game set 500 years into the future, need to be realistic? CSGO is set in our time, yet the soldiers don't ADS or even sprint. CSGO has been around for not much longer than Halo, and it has still survived and is currently the most popular FPS on PC. This is just solid proof that 343i want Halo to be mediocre, and not different. Spartans are actually more advanced than you think. I believe they should be able to run as fast as sprinting speed and still aim from the hip. The weapons are linked to the Spartans HUD so they don't even need a red dot sight to look through. IMO the way that the Assualt Rifle scopes in, is really cool and that should be what it looks like on all guns. If sprint is removed, they can still keep slide and shoulder bash, the controls scheme would work like this: Holding down melee button while moving will charge up a bar for half a second, then releases shoulder bash, quickly pressing melee button results in a normal melee. Same deal with slide, hold down the couch button for half a second and you slide. Easy. For the people complaining about ranking system, it's actually pretty good in my opinion. Halo is a team game, there is no 'i' in team. The skill rank for team playlists should indicate how well you work with a team and your skill within a team environment, not individual. FFA is the only playlist that can really determine individual skill. I think you should only be matched with players in your own division. Gold plays with Gold, Onyx with Onyx, ect. But semi-pro and pro should be able to play with/against each other. I also like the idea of how the Prophets Bane increases your movement speed. Would be cool to make certain weapons change your speed, such as any pistol weapons make you run faster when holding them out, and heavy ordnance weapons like Rockets, make you slower. Sniper, DMR, Carb BR ect should keep you at default speed. Oh almost forgot, bring back items from Halo3 like bubble shield and power drain. If 343i implements the changed I said, I think it could possibly be the best Halo game to date. Now, these are just my thoughts so far after playing the game for 3 hours. If anyone can give me reasons as to why my ideas wouldn't work, then please do.
  3. Great work Twin! Even though the Halo 2 servers are going down, there are still ways to play online such as using Hamachi or Tuungle. With these programs you can create groups that people join. It tricks your computer into thinking that these groups are LAN groups, allowing you to join private online servers through the LAN tab. I haven't tried it on Halo 2 so it's no guaranteeing it would work. I just hope the petition to keep Halo 2 online is a success.
  4. SPOILER ALERT-----------------SPOILER ALERT-------------------SPOILER ALERT If you have not payed and completed Halo:Reach campaign, do not read beyond this point. Highlight to see the text clearer! Dr. Halsey CANNOT and WILL NOT die in Halo 5, 6 and beyond. This is true as at the end of Halo: Reach when you finish the lone wolf mission, Dr. Halsey is talking. This event took place way after Halo 5 and 6. This event is known as the Return to Reach. After Reach was glassed by the covenant, many years later the UNSC returned to Reach to find that everything had regrown. During the Return to Reach, Dr. Halsey (as heard in the Reach ending) was giving a speech known as the Eulogy to Spartan B-312 (This is the spartan you play as in reach) The year this speech happened was in 2589. Dr. Halsey is 97 years old. To refresh your memories, here is the speech: It didn't take long for Reach to fall: our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren't nearly fast enough. For you had already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo, unlocked its secrets, shattered our enemy's resolve. Our victory—your victory—was so close, I wish you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor—all burned and turned to glass. Everything... except your courage. That, you gave to us. And with it, we can rebuild. Source: http://halo.wikia.co...lizabeth_Halsey
  5. A better solution to the lag issue would be that when the system searches for players to match you in a game and is finished doing so, it would randomly chose a host (as it already does) and then test everyone's ping to that host. If someone's ping is over 200, they get booted and the system then searches for a replacement player. I have some friends from Canada. We play Halo a lot together and I can host games without them lagging and vise versa. Demotion of rank should be allowed. What if you stop playing Halo for a while? You decide to come back and play even though your a 50 but you haven't played in ages. You'll probably get a horrible score. The 1-50 skill rank from Halo 3 DID NOT tell you how good you were at the game. It told you how much of a team player you are. If you are a good team player, that means you are a good player. Halo 4's new CSR takes into account many other things instead of only wins and losses. This means that if you are in a match with noobs who keep dying, as long as you maintain a good score you wont de-rank or rank up.

  7. I'm leaving the forum. No fancy goodbyes, this place ain't what it used to be. I dislike most of the community here and I just see this huge popularity contest. I enjoyed the forum while it lasted. When it was once a small loving community where everyone got along, and problems between two members were resolved quickly. Now it's been overrun by some very unintelligent people. Good day.
  8. Sick of this Join in Progress crap. I always get joined into games where the enemy team has 30 kills, and my team has about 6. Nice balancing 343i.

it needs to be removed. I could fix Halo 4 right now and double the playerbase if I had control over 343i.

  9. 343i just did a 30 megabyte update on Halo 4. The changes I've noticed at the moment are: High Velocity grenade throw glitch was patched. Kill cams now appear after every death, and seem to be showing the enemy shooting you accuratley, unlike before the cam showed the enemy missing shots. The final kill cam always shows now.

  10. Finally, a good new gametype in Halo 4. I actually enjoy Team Regicide. I hope MLG will come out next week.

  11. I have limited edition and already have access to the specializations. I can give you my code if you want.
  12. Slayer Pro has big problems that needs addressing. The problem is, everyone should start with the exact same weapons. They should have gametypes in Slayer Pro to vote for that is either BR only, DMR only, or standard AR, magnum and weapon pickups. But they put all 3 in one gametype which makes Slayer Pro less enjoyable. They also need to remove sprint from Slayer Pro.
  13. I do like change. Halo 2's change from Halo CE was good change. The change from Halo 3 or Reach to Halo 4 is bad change. That's why they should have 2 seperate playlist sections. Competitive which is stripped down and Casual which can have all their perks and stuff. This way, the game caters to everyone. You just have 1 playlist section only, and combine both Casual and Competitive inside. It doesn't work.
  14. A Halo 2 remake that includes a matchmaking would be quite impossible anyway. The engine and other things in Halo 2 are not compatible with the 360. Maybe a new Halo game could be created, going back to the roots of Halo 2. This would also mean duel wielding of needlers can be removed like it was in Halo 3. How am I supposed to know if the guy around the corner has a boltshot? The only time I know is when I hear it, and before I hear it charging, it's too late and I would have jumped in to get that last shot on his head and then he just shoots me.
  15. Dude....just leave. BR and Carbine didn't ruin the game. They were adding a more variety of weapons. The health bar system was horrible, as if you had just been in a 1v1 battle and lost all your health, there was no way to survive another fighter unless you found a health pack. Seriously dude, online play ruined your LAN parties? Just....I am baffled.....
  16. boarding vehicles didn't really change the gameplay dramatically. It was just an added feature to the game such as assassinations.
  17. lulwut? Halo 2 barely changed. Everything was the same as Halo 1 except for the graphics and they added new maps and precision weapons. Precision weapons were pretty much Halo 1 pistols but in a more realistic way. EDIT: Alright, here's a way to add change and allow players to have their own play styles without making the game unbalanced. Make weapons themselves customizable. Not with fancy lasers, red-dot or thermal scopes. I mean like you can have an option to have: Your DMR is a 5 shot kill. Takes 4 shots to break shields, and 1 last bullet in the head to kill. Or you can change it to have 5 shot to break the shield, but the 5th shot bleeds through to the head. This would mean players can play support roles or attacking roles. You could also allow your DMR to become a 4 shot kill, but in doing so, the Rate of Fire is decreased. Technically, this is balanced because: Enemy DMR is 5 shot. Your DMR is 4 shot. the 4 shot DMR would be less effective at long range due to slow ROF. The 5 shot is better at long range because of the high ROF, so your zoom on the 4 shot DMR is knocked out quicker or your gun recoils from getting shot from the higher ROF DMR. The 4 shot is better at close range as you would only need to deal 2 shots instead of 3 to the enemy and then melee to get the kill. This could work for most weapons. These features to change the ROF and damage can be used by everyone from day 1. Thats one way for weapon customization that wont unbalance gameplay. As I said earlier, I can't stress this enough though, 343i needs to implement a casual playlists with all their fancy perks and a competitive playlist with classic halo settings.
  18. Yes, I believe it would. As these cosmetic customizations will take a challenge to unlock and be able to use. At least my way, teams don't start off with different weapons and all there little perks. Halo's multiplayer was all about balance. Everyone started with the same weapons, same amount of grenades, same amount of team mates, same amount of ammunition. The only difference was which players are better than the other. Now, Halo 4 is a game of whoever plays the game more than others, can have access to perks, better weapons, better perks, ect. This is not was Halo was meant to be. As I said before, having a split playlist of Casual and Competitive would bring so many more players. People who want competitive play will be given access to gametypes that have no sprint, no loadouts, no AA and a trueskill system. Then, those who just feel like they want to chill out and nothing matters, have access to custom loadouts, AA, sprint, progressive rank system, join in progress ect. I can't seem to understand why you continue to debate that Halo 4 system is the best when others clearly think otherwise. It's like that mexican taco add on TV. Hard or Soft tacos? Why can't we have both? EDIT: Here.
  19. There is no point in playing every match competitively, if there is is no reward for winning, and a price to pay for losing. It doesn't matter. I can quit a game, betray my team, play sloppy and I won't care in Halo 4 because there is no punishment for this. So if something doesn't matter, I have no reason to play competitive. The gameplay can be changed without making gameplay unbalanced. Some of these things could be entirely new vehicles without replacing old ones. In Halo 4, they added the mantis which is awesome, but in doing so removed any UNSC flying vehicle. The gameplay shouldn't be different for every Halo game. Halo is Halo because of the way it plays, feels, ect. Changing these feelings, and ways that the game plays alters the game, making it no longer a Halo game. Well, technically it's a Halo game because of the name, company ect but the feel of the game is not right. I would never get bored if 343i kept releasing a Halo 2 remake every 2.5 - 3 years with a new campaign. As long as they add new commendations, harder achievements, harder challenges to complete which rewards players with rare armor. This would be fun. Even if the gameplay stays the same. Halo's multiplayer has been based specifically on the golden triangle which is Weapon, Melee and Grenades. Now, in Halo 4, we now have a golden 6 5 sided shape, consisting of Weapon, Melee, grenade, Perk and Armor Abilitiy. My idea, of splitting playlists into Casual and Competitive would make sure that people can have what they want and be able to play both at the same time. There is not ONE playlist in Halo 4 that is actually sticking to roots of Halo. Team Slayer Pro is the closest thing, but 343i messed it up with sprint and having a DMR and AR as choices for the set loadouts. It should either be BR only or DMR only. Maybe allowing players when the voting screen appears to vote for a map with gametypes BR Slayer or DMR slayer would fix this problem.
  20. No, this is not the end of tired, dead, worthless debate. If you really think this debate is worthless then you should leave now. Obviously, Halo is different from CoD, but there are aspects of CoD that are in Halo 4, which makes the game not very enjoyable for me. You can't just come in here and end a debate which, obviously has nothing to do with you and you weren't even part of this conversation.
  21. No, IMO Halo 4 does not feel like a Halo game to me. There are other ways to make the game more interesting and not so old that don't effect gameplay at all, Halo doesn't need perks or custom loadouts to allow it to evolve. Seriously, they could work on a trueskill system ( I had a great idea for that). They could also add even more customization into Halo 4 (Including HUD customization, more armor skins, different weapon models (example when there a match of slayer BR, you might choose to use the Halo 3 BR instead of the Halo 4 BR but it won't effect anything, both guns are exactly the same except the design.) Those are just a few examples of how to improve Halo and make not so repetitive without having the unbalancing issues. Seriously, Halo 4 has catered to the uncompetitive players and not so much the competitive players. Halo 4 doesn't even have challenging commendations or even Vidmaster Achievements which made Halo 3 so great. What they need to do is have 2 major playlist sections. One called COMPETITIVE and the other CASUAL/SOCIAL. Social playlist have your progression system, infinity slayer, custom loadouts, sprint, AA and all your favorite unbalancing issues. the Competitive playlist should have your true skill ranking system, set loadouts, no spirnt, no AA, ect. In both the Casual and Competitive sections, they will have numerous gametypes (Slayer, KOTH, CTF, Oddball, Snipers, Doubles, ect.) This would cater to both casual and competitive players, which in the end would double the player count and make the game enjoyable for both competitive and casual gamers. In my eyes, Halo 4 is a success, but a success in the wrong direction. It could have succeeded a lot better than what it has done. I will still continue to play and enjoy Halo 4 but it's just not the same anymore. The epic feelings are gone.
  22. You sir, are awesome. Finally someone that agrees with me. Halo 4 boltshot is so overpowered beyond belief. The perks and stuff are all stupid too. Halo should have just stayed at it's roots with no join in progress and no custom loadouts. Everyone should start with the same things. Seriously, they should just do a Halo 2 multiplayer remake and just keep that. I'd play it so much. 343i should separate Halo campaign and multiplayer into separate games, and half the costs of each.
  23. To anyone who beleives the Boltshot weapon and Regicide playlist are "fine" or "okay" needs a big kick in the head. Firstly, I am at close range with scattershot, 1 hit doesn't kill. Kid flops out his boltshot and I'm dead. Regicide, if you want to win then you have to have a negative KDR.

Lame excuse? Expected better from me? Piss off, dude. I don't need to start an argument with everyone who rages over the game. Hence the reason I said ''Chill bro.'' And I SUGGESTED that you sell the game back, because quite frankly, you seem to hate a lot of things about it. Sorry for providing an inadequate response.

  24. First off, the AR is not stronger than the BR or DMR. Depends what range. The thing is, the Battle Rifle technically is NOT a precision weapon. If you look at real military rifles, most rifles have a fire mode switch that can change the gun to either full auto, 3 round burst or single shot. This also means the BR can actually go full auto, but the function is not in the game. I agree that some weapons are overpowered, such as the Boltshot. The DMR is slightly more overpowered than the battle rifle, carbine and light rifle simply because it dominates at all ranges except very close range against an AR. Halo 4's multiplayer could be a lot better than what it is.
