The Ouya, pronounced OOOYEAH, is an upcoming, easily affordable game console that runs on an open source OS based on the Android 4.0 OS. It is currently priced at $99 US Dollars and is intended to be released in Spring 2013. You can pre-order now at their official site HERE.

Here's what it looks like, with the controller.

The creators of Ouya have stated that it is their intention that Ouya be a cheap and easy alternative for indie developers and other smaller developers that want to make games for a console with having to pay a ridiculous fee for the SDK or license. The Ouya is intended to be completely hackable and moddable. That goes for the software AND hardware.

Here's the tech specs for the Ouya. Keep in mind that you CAN upgrade these specs on your own:

- Nvidia Tegra 3

- Quad-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU

- Nvidia GeForce ULP GPU at 520Mhz

- 1 GB RAM

- 8 GB Internal Flash storage

- HDMI support up to 1080p

- Built in ethernet and Wifi 802.11 b/g/n

- Bluetooth LE 4.0

- A single USB 2.0 port

- Wireless controller similar to an XB360 controller with a touch pad
