  1. Hi! Seeing as the juggernaut in charge of Halo right now turned the game into a Microtransaction barbie-simulator, there has been this question that I've been dying to ask. Since there will be customizable armor akin to Halo 3, Reach, and so forth, I'm curious as to how the armor will be unlocked (unless I'm actually stupid and there won't be any armor, in which case I'm gonna kill all of my friends for lying) Will it be like in Halo 3, where the armor is to be earned by achievement-like unlocks? Like how you had to get the special skulls, complete the final mission with 4 friends in ghosts on the hardest difficulty, and so forth to get the Recon armor, Or will it be more like Halo reach where you get credits for playing and you can spend those credits on the armor you want? Or perhaps a combination of the two, where some armor is unlockable via a credit system, while others are achievement-only? Then again I may just be stupid and there won't be any armor at all. ----- hmmm.. If there isn't a planned development for armor, perhaps I could allocate my time to 3d modeling and creating the models and textures for the armor? If you're not doing armor since it's most likely a waste of time, would you allow me to waste my time and implement models of mine that you enjoy?
  2. Hey everyone. I am a Halo fan. I remember the lan parties. Staying up all night when it came out on the original xbox. When I discovered the flood playing coop on a tiny tv split-screen. Oh to be young, with young eyes. Now I am almost the big dirty thirty and I was replaying halo the master chief collection last night and I jumped over to halo 4 campaign. It is a great game. But I can't carry much ammo. I am a badass super-soldier with energy shields but I can't carry more than 4 clips of DMR? So I thought, oh, no big deal, I will just turn on the bandana skull. Except, no bandana skull for halo 4. This made me sad. I realize as game developers 343 has to balance a lot of different aspects but giving us a few extra clips of ammo and an extra grenade would be nice. If that can't happen at least give us the bandana skull. Because we love Halo and want to play it the way we like. We need the ammo if we are going to play like I like to play. Heroic with mythic and thunderbolt on. Thanks, David P.S. No matter what I am going to buy guardians. I give this post with deep seated love and respect for all things Halo.
  3. The Master Chief Collection game manual was posted online today on xboxlive.com, and included a full list of all the MCC Skulls, and Halo 2: Anniversary Skulls. There's also some other information I'll touch on... but first we'll start with Skulls: - All the skulls from the previous games are making a return. - The original skulls in Halo 2 are still there. - 2 of the Skulls in H2A are not unlocked in the Campaign. Their requirements are in the Skull list below. - The Grunt Funeral skull is not hidden in CE since it was pre-order DLC, and therefore does not have an achievement tied to it. It also seems that Grunt Funeral will be unlocked from the start. - Most skulls spanning across Halo: CE, 2, and 3 will unlock achievements once found. Halo 4 has no skull finding achievements (since there's no skulls hidden in it's campaign). - All the Halo 3, and Halo 4 Skulls are unlocked from the start. The Halo 3 skulls are still hidden in the Campaign. - You can now toggle Halo 4 skulls in Spartan Ops. All the Master Chief Collection Skulls: Miscellaneous information from the Game Manual: - Specializations for Halo 4 are gone. - All 5 Loadouts, and Loadout items for Halo 4 are unlocked from the start. Specialization Loadout Perk exclusive items are also unlocked. - It is currently unknown what will become of the Specialization exclusive Armor, and Weapon Skins. - The 3 add-on Perks for Halo 4 don't seem to be included from the start. - Theater is only available for Halo 2: Anniversary (I'm not sure if it's fully there for H2A), Halo 3, and Halo 4 (though the availability to each of those games is questionable). Theater is not in Halo: CE or Halo 2. - Theater clips cannot be permanently saved to your File Share. There's also some other information I'll touch on... but first we'll start with Skulls: - Most of the pre-order Skulls are now unlocked in the MCC (except for Feather, which is exclusive until March 27th it seems). Bandanna, Boom, Bonded Pair, Pinata, and Grunt Funeral are now unlocked. - All the skulls from the previous games are making a return with a few new ones for Halo 2. - The original skulls in Halo 2 are still there, and are listed below along with the other Skulls. Most of the original skulls in Halo 2 require you to play on Legendary to find. - You can use skulls with 0.00x multiplier (like Bandanna, and Scarab) to find skulls in the Campaigns, and still get achievements for them. - The skulls hidden on the Mythic maps in Halo 3 are still there, and can be found in Forge mode. - The Grunt Funeral skull is not hidden in CE since it was pre-order DLC, and therefore does not have an achievement tied to it. - Most skulls spanning across Halo: CE, 2, and 3 will unlock achievements once found. Halo 4 has no skull finding achievements (since there's no skulls hidden in it's campaign). - All of the Skulls are unlocked from the start except for the "Swarm" Skull in Halo 2. - You can now toggle Halo 4 skulls in Spartan Ops. - Skulls with a Score Multiplier of 0, when activated, cannot earn you specific Achievements in the MCC (such as the Scarab & Bandanna Skulls).   5. I've been playing through the Legendary campaigns in co-op with a friend of mine. In Halo 2, when one of us dies, we go back to the checkpoint, as if we have the Iron skull on. Is it supposed to be like this? Was it always like this? As a side note, we only had Sputnik, Grunt Birthday Party, Prophet Birthday Party, and IWHBYD on. One last thing: We finished Cairo Station and got the achievement for beating a level on Heroic or Legendary with the Masterblaster skull on, and we didn't have it on. Is the entire campaign glitched out? I know the game is having problems, but...wow...
  6. I liked Halo 2 and 3 skulls, because you had to actually find them. Halo 4 made it an option. In Guardians, I believe it would be only reasonable if they brought that feature back, but with a twist. Instead of having to find the skull and only have it for the time your Xbox is on, you should have to find it, and then it is unlocked and you don't have to find it again. Then when ever you need it again later, you can just activate it in the menu. Maybe 343 will have my "request confirmed" (thats what the multiplayer anouncer says after you call in an ordinance) and we'll all be happy.
  7. So, i recently picked up a copy of Halo 3 again, this time it isn't going anywhere. I've played through the campaign on co-op Legendary, retrieving all of the skulls. However half way through we were not connected to xbox live and we didn't know that. After the credits i looked to see if i'd gotten Hyabusa armor, since i collected all skulls. I did, now, when i got to my house it said that i didn't have all of the skulls, i was missing one, wich is the iwhbyd skull. So, i played through it on single player, normal, because i just wanted the skull, but i put the code it, kill all of the flood and i get nothing . I have wasted a lot of time doing this. I've done nearly five playthroughs of the same level on normal, two on heroic, and two and legendary, but i'm still getting nothing, i would really appreciate help because it's getting very irritating .
  8. Now that I've played Anniversary and seen the unique skulls it had and comparing it to other games I find that we had a continuous line of the same skulls for a while. Such as the Malfunction skull from Anniversary, that one was very challenging yet fun to use. But I also want to see some new skulls be put into play. Tell me your opinion on this matter and tell me if you have any skull ideas of your own.

With the new addition of the promethians, i feel as there should be a skull that affects them (other than the skulls that affect enemys in general). so i thought "you can get easy headshots on crawlers, why not have grunt birthday party affect them too?" so any and all further thoughts would be appreciated. and if they could add this into the game it would make it that much better.

  11. Hello everyone! Today I'm posting a topic about Skulls. I for one have been excited for them ever since I saw the Halo 4 achievement list. The topics up for discussion are: How do you feel about Skulls returning? Are you worried that they will work like in Halo:Reach? What effects do you think the skulls will have, or do you believe they will be the same as in Halo 3? Also, feel free to post any skull ideas if you want This is just for fun, but it's always nice to see ingenuity.

I have quite a few ideas for Halo 4 so please, if you are going to criticize, do it constructively, not by saying "this is retarded/***" Dual Wielding: increase the bloom by 25-50%, reticals by 50-100%, decrease weapon damage by 25% Bots: I recommend the Bots have Normal as their difficulty, if 343 brings Invasion back Reach had a good system for Elite unlockable skins. Bots could be brought in when a players K/D durring the game is in the extremes (lets say for every 5 point difference so like 5 kills, 10 deaths, or 20 kills 0 deaths for example) they can bring in a squad like from Halo Reach's Fire Fight. For Spartans it could go from 5 Marines with pistols - ARs - then 3 Marines with ARs 1 pistol & 1 rocket launcher - ODSTs with ARs/BRs/DMRs - ODSTs with BRs and 1 sniper - 2 Spartan VI Juggernauts with less shielding. For Elites (if they decide to bring them back again) 5 Grunts with PPs and Needlers - Jackals with PPs and Needlers - Skirmishers with Carbines and Needlers - 3 Jackals with needlers and 2 Grunts with covenant ordinance - 2 Elites with carbines, 1 jackal sniper, and 2 Elites with automatic plasma weapons - 2 Hunters (or something equivalent to them in they aren't in going to be in Halo 4). Killing Bots: can serve as 1/2 a point for kills except for the Juggernauts and Hunters which can serve as 1 point. The person who spawns the bots will not recieve points for the bots K/D but for balancing purposes in BTB/Invasion, which is what my concept is for, not FFA or Squad or other game types that don't use large amounts of players, the Bots deaths will count as 1 death point towards player ranking and K/D spread of the person who spawned them without enabling other squad spawn points. For BTB/Invasion slayer the 1/2 points from Bots killing players can be untyped points added to the score board. To keep track of what squad a player can spawn there can be number between the HUD shielding bar and ammo display. For those afraid of the weapons being OPed with so many laying around from killed bots the weapons can have no extra ammo/half a battery Spawning Bots: Use an unused button in Multiplayer (something on the D-Pad most likely) and the bots can drop in from a drop pod that will fall apart after landing so players cant use the dop pod to gain a height advantage or to access the map in a way it wasn't intended. The drop pods can come in a spawn area closest the player who spawned them. For enclosed and forged maps a teleporter can appear that players can't access and the squad come out then the teleporter falls apart. If a player spawns a squad that squad counts as the highest avaidable and shouldnt let the player spawn previous squads (ie that person with the 20k 0d can spawn a squad of ODST riflemen as a spartan or jackals with heavy grunt support for the elites but afterwards cannot spawn another squad until the K/D difference raises by 5) Squad Example Selection: My examples for squads aren't Over Powered, they are minimalistic benefits depending on how well a player is doing. Its not a kill streak from COD I am asking 343 to include, its a system that has bots that aren't going to massacre every living thing like in COD (like heavy vehicles, playable juggernauts with guns, instant kill air strikes, etc.) The system I came up with off the top of my head within 30 minutes is in my opinion a bit raw and is balanced thus far, on their own the beginning squads won't do a lot of damage, more of a temporary distraction, and catch players by surpriise and put in the little bit of damage that another player may need to take down someone more skilled/well armed/noobish. The system is set strictly for Bots, for those who would argue to bring in stuff like weapons, vehicles, power ups, etc. that would be turning into COD Future Warfare 1 and some maps are designed not to have certain weapons/vehicles/power ups. If 343 chooses to implicate my system into Halo 4 or a halo game in the future I beg its strictly for the larger game types. (please note the dashes seperate the squads per 5 K/D difference) Custom Game Options: I would like to be able to use the campaign skulls in custom games. In Halo Reach I sometimes play custom Slayer with strictly 1 handed weapons and lack the ability to duplicate the ability of Tilt or Black Eye or the other skulls excluding 200% health. Another option would be armor effects like in Halo Reach's Power Slayer, Juggernaut, and Ghost Zombies so you can set it so only apha zombies are on fire or reverse it for Infection, toss in Flood Mutations (basically just the combat forms from Halo 3 with updated graphics and extendable claws for Energy swords which can retract if the infected has a different weapon on hand) for Infection or possibly Invasion which will give players a 3rd option for their race (Spartan VIs, Covenant, Flood) which could be selected as Green Team. Juggernaut: Give them back the ability to use weapons other than the Gravity Hammer again and retain the auto-swap so it can add more customization to the game type. Halo Reach had a system hiccup with this since they set it so Juggernauts only had a graviy hammer even if the game type has the Juggernaut set to using a PP and Energy Sword Teams: It would be nice to set custom setting for each team (ie. red team with more speed less defense, blue with more defense less speed, green with heavy damage but slightly slower and softer, different starting weapons & equipment) that in a FFA version of the game type the players can't access unless the base player traits are altered Yes I know this would take a lot of time and money to take care of and yes I know 343 has already announced that there won't be Elites or Bots in Multiplayer but if they decide to do what I have requested with guidelines already laid out it would be great and could possibly implimented in future game types in matchmaking after the release of Halo 4 or in a future halo game.
  13. I've seen the video's of skulls and all but I still don't know this... Are the skulls hidden in the levels and you must collect them to use them or are they unlocked from the biginning? Thanks in advance.
  14. i just discovered these so a lot of you may now all about these as i tend to be one of the last to find out new info about halo lol Iron skull Grunt Funeral: Every grunts methane tank will explode when killed (only for people who pre-order the game) Malfuntion: A random part of the HUD will disappear when you respawn Grunt Birthday party: no need to explain this one Boom: explosion radius will increase two-fold i think there will be more skulls
