Just noticed somthing offbeat in 343i's new spartan pic.Look closely and see if you can spot it. The spartan is holding the pistol with his LEFT hand. Master Chief is Right Handed. Just an observation and it could be just a fluke... or maybe there will be multiple campaign spartans in Halo 4! What do you think? I have played both Reach and 3 and I too feel that Reach had major shortcomings but, I do not understand what exactly is meant by which engine they will use. I thought the engine was simply a collection of coding that allowed them to put in different aspects of the game: graphics, controls etc. Does anyone know where I can learn more about the internal workings of the coding? Maybe a clear definition of an engine would do the trick.

I have had alot of experience playing all of the Halo games and I have to say that my performance in Reach versus my skills in the other is incomparable. Bloom has decided the outcome of a match for me more than a few times and I for one would like to see it removed from any further installation of Halo. This mechanic makes using the sniper rifle and other med-long range rifles extremely difficult, because once the target is aware they are being shot at bloom lets them duck into cover. This annoys me to no end. Bloom needs to go away.

I have played more than my share of all the halo games and I have to say that AA's are annoying. Jet-pack and sprint could be okay, as long as you kept invisibility and over shields as pickup items and not as AA's. Kill times are increased way too much and there has to be a way to balance this. Removing AA's is the logical choice.

Ya know, Cortana was sitting on that ship for a long time and she may have reached rampancy. So changing her look may have been her choice and also a testament to her being independant. She was stuck with the gravemind for a while and she may have found a way to prolong a coherent functionality to herself however. as was stated before changing te look may acctually increase the amount of people that are allowed to play because she was rather showy in the latest games. Also I don't care how she looks as long as it is good for epic screenshots.

I liked playing as and with the Arbiter but the odds of his return based on a rescue mission for John are minimal. In the end of the third game the memorial had his service number scratched into the side indicating that even his friends believed him dead. It is possible however that a recon team will be surveying the ruins trying to learn from the forerunner tech and bump into the chief, giving you reinforcements of Marines and the Arbiter will be in their midst.

It would no longer be considered an FPS and would lose it's appeal as a Halo game. The only part of any halo game that is 3rd person is when you are in a vehicle. This almost certainly will not change.

Two things I noticed that were flawed. Humans are as far as I know, forerunners. This conclusion is brought on by the statement made by 343 before his termination in the end of the third game. He very clearly said YOU ARE FORERUNNER. Also The part about it being impossible that it is a forerunner is also flawed due to the possibility that forerunners could be trapped on the planet you are apporaching and were unable to leave the atmosphere due to destroying spacecraft to stop flood, loss of technology etc. We know the planet is not ONYX because as I read somewhere else on these forums, it was destroyed.

What book does it say that in? I have read pretty much all the novels and I do not remember that.

I know what he is talking about. When one of the map packs was released, an advertising picture showed spartans in the mappack posing and one of them was wearing a helmet that had never been seen before. Most likely flood and covie. Forerunners are pretty likely as well. Precursers would be cool too since we know basically nothing about them and a new enemy would be fun to fight.

Black should totally be availible, it makes for great screenshots and cool armor.

Having a 4th game is great and a couple more installments after that would be pretty cool as well. I think going to a 7th game would be where they should stop. Starwars had 6 movies as well as all the cartoons and action figures and books. Halo should make it look like childs play. I love Halo and I really want it to be remembered as the titan of all games. As famous as pong and pacman.

There are a lot of things that could make the newest installment great. I couldn't help but notice that a ship or possibly a planet (a shield world?) was shown off the prow of the frigate the chief was on. It looked a lot like forerunner technology and therefore we could get to look at more technology and other things from their civilization. I really hope they do this. As far as game play goes one thing that I absolutely hated about Reach was the impostering they used on forge world. The graphics looked really grainy and it detracted from the art of it all. The gore mentioned by King PWNinater would ruin Halo unless it was pertaining purely to the flood. Part of the fun is being able to mock your opponent by pushing his corpse of a cliff or something like that. More killable wildlife would be great and the addition of water vehicles as was aforementioned. I would really like the grenade launcher to stay in the game and maybe the addition of more forerunner weapons, not just the sentinel beam. Other than that I just want good graphics.
