  1. I love Hivemind. I played Flood when the game first came out and stopped after a few days because it was just much too difficult to survive. My friend wanted to play Flood and I reluctantly agreed. However, we voted on Hivemind because we didn't know what it was. It was a pleasant surprise. The game type becomes a lot more enjoyable when flood aren't thrusting 1,000,000,000 mph one-hit-killing all the humans within 2 minutes. The addition of ordnance was a nice touchup as well. Finally, the 2 hits to kill a Spartan was the cherry on top. The maps are also very nicely built, much more enjoyable to play on than Adrift or Haven. I don't want to sound like 343 did a horrible job with Flood, it's just that Hivemind is so good. If possible, CANADIANECHO, could you try to get permission from 343 to change the normal Flood game type so I don't break my controller from rage? That would be nice.
  2. The Assault Rifle did get a major buff in the June title update, but so did basically every precision weapon except the DMR. I would recommend playing around with the Storm Rifle for a little while because it plays a lot like the Assault Rifle but with a little more power in close range. I'd also recommend just playing more games and getting more experience at close-mid range combat and learn how to deal with them with an Automatic. I used to be horrible when I used Automatics, but I just stuck with it and can get top score on multiple game types. Sorry if I'm sounding like I'm preaching, but just keep playing around with all the Automatics on multiple game types (excluding BTB.) P.S. Use grenades. Use them. Frags are great and even Pulse Grenades with Grenadier can help you mow people down MUCH faster.
  3. I find the multiplayer to be WAY more balanced than at the launch. Back then it seemed that the DMR/ Boltshot combo won the game for you. The DMR had crazy range and killed faster than the BR and Carbine. The Boltshot was a Shotgun with 3x the range. After the balancing patch, I can easily win most fights with the Carbine at Close- Medium range, do some serious damage with the BR at Medium range, pick off heads at a Long range with the Light Rifle, use the DMR for versatility and wreck shop in Close Quarter areas with any of the Automatics. The Boltshot is still sitting wrong with me, but I can at least live with it now. I'm sure I'm not the only one on the forum that feels the patch helped the game. Am I? -> Proof of the Boltshot being crazy powerful at launch. Credit goes to Gum Shoe Pro.
  4. The Saw takes 3 less shots to kill now so that it stays twice as powerful as the other load out automatics. Anyway, I would have to go with the BR as the weapon I prefer. However, I actually don't mind the DMR anymore now that the other weapons are better and the DMR doesn't dominate every other weapon at every single range. The BR is just too satisfying now to stop using. 4 shots to kill, but you have longer times between each shot. It now rewards each shot more than any of the other precision weapons at close range (other than the Carbine.) Also, the 2-shots into melee makes it invaluable to stopping somebody getting the better of you up close.
  5. I would want to be able to use that spear the Honor Guard Elites in Halo 2 used. It'd be like normal melee damage but with a much longer reach. Also, it'd be cool if when you assassinated someone with it you would stick the spear in the ground and their body would slide down the shaft. Of course, you wouldn't be able to use the spear afterwards, but it'd still be cool.
  6. Plasma Rifle: Classy. Plasma Repeater: Fast. Storm Rifle: New. Brute Plasma Rifle:...red Overall, I give my vote to the Storm Rifle. It's fast, fairly strong and you can spawn with it. It's not too great as a primary, but if it's used as a secondary it wrecks people up close. Probably my biggest reason for picking it, though, is that nobody ever seems to use it. People used the Plasma Rifle to take down shields, you spawned with the Plasma Repeater in Invasion and the Brute Plasma Rifle you never even got to use in PVP. The Storm Rifle fits right between the Suppressor and Assault Rifle, making it absolutely amazing for an automatic, yet no one uses it.
  7. If the gauss arm would be a little weaker than the Warthog version, I would take this over the normal Mantis any day.
  8. Yeah... I don't think I've ever been killed by a Suppressor when I've had a Storm Rifle out. Even at point blank range it just doesn't do any damage. The funniest thing about the Suppressor is that the Boltshot beats it at close range when the Suppressor is supposed to be the dominant close quarters loadout weapon.
  9. I do tend to play other game modes more often than TS Pro buuuut... No sir, I don't like it.
  10. I don't think the scorpion, or any vehicle, really needs to get buffed. I think the Plasma Pistol/Plasma Grenade combo is just too strong. Who needs a Spartan Laser or a Rocket Launcher when you can quickly EMP a vehicle, throw 2 grenades, and run away?
  11. The problem with upping the BR's ROF is that it then makes the Carbine completely worthless. Really, the way I see it, is if you buff a weapon it throws all the other weapons out of wack. The only solution to the DMR (at least the way I see it) is to nerf the ROF to be a little slower than the BR.
  12. I only tend to use automatics on King of the Hill, Oddball, and when I need to ambush someone on any other gamemode. Other than that, however, precision weapons dominate.
  13. Yesterday, I was playing some CTF on Complex. I hadn't used the DMR in a while and I was trying new weapons, such as the Light Rifle, Carbine, etc (keep in ming that I barely use the DMR, I'm not even past Expert.) Well, I ended up running out of ammo in my Light Rifle so I run over to the closest weapon and pick it up. Its a DMR. About a minute or so later I had about 10 kills and single-handedly pinned down the enemy team so they couldn't get out of their spawn. The only reason I died was because I ran out of ammo. Something tells me that something is wrong when me, a person that barely uses the DMR, can roflstomp the other team in a matter of minutes. I do believe a nerf is necessary.
  14. Yeah, I've been trying for the Covenant Loadout Mastery but you need WAY too many kills with the Plasma Pistol. I'm not saying you should buff the gun, you should just make it so you need around 100 kills for Mastery.
  15. Either Roland or Miller. Probably the best thing about Episode 5 was the fact you didn't hear Commander Palmer say "eggheads" every 10 seconds.
