The Single Most Funny Thing To Happen To 343 EVER
The Director replied to Fail Master's topic in General Discussion
I listen to this every day. It's impossible to stay angry while listening to this and watching the stickmen. xD -
Put it this way. AAN2 isn't my first, or only account. lmao

Wrong. People have been banned/rank reset for griffball boosting, afk boosting, BTB boosting, and all sorts of boosting. Boosting IS very much punishable, and usually by credit bans, rank resets, or complete matchmaking bans given the offenses. As for the OP, Here you go: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/8584-when-and-why-to-report-a-player-over-xbl/

If you get me a controller, I will totally ninja your x-box back ;D lmao I'm actually trying to scrape up enough money to, but things are tight this time of year. :/

On the nature of newb and noob. A rant by The Director Little bored, so thought I'd have a little bit of a rant. Today I played a game of snipers on Halo Reach, and a player with a lower rank called a player who was a forerunner (I think, don't particularly recall) a noob. The reason he did this was because said player was running around getting "pwnd" and teabagging when he got kills, as a noob does. What caught my immediate attention was that he actually specified the spelling of the word "noob". This led to a discussion on the difference in the usage of the slang, "newb" and "noob". A good chunk of players think that both words are the same, and one is intentionally misspelled to make it more "l337". However, the l337 for newb is either n3vv8 or n0ob (or n0ob or n00b). Not "noob". Since these words are slang, their definitions are "open market" which means that they have rather vague definitions to begin with, and there is not strict criteria for defining them. What a lot of players (a decent amount, at any rate) think is that both words have separate meanings. Newb: A slang term used to describe one that is new to something. Noob: A person that is not skilled or is bad at something. By these definitions, the words noob and newb become different, and can be used for a more accurate description. For instance, "Dude, this guy has been playing for 300 hours but has a .02 k/d. He's such a noob." and "You have to forgive my friend, he's never played Halo before so he's a newb". What would be incorrect by this standard, is calling an experienced person/player a "newb". However, it would still be correct to call a new person/player a "noob". Now you can have fun with them, by linking them up for even "sicker burns", such as "you are the noobest noob newb to ever play this game!" Thoughts, opinions?

q.q My controller is still broken! D: And I wanna plaaaaaaaaaay! D: Crap. I guess I could try playing even with my broken controller, but it will be a real pain, and I'll probably go negative on my k/d, which I've been working to improve

Yeah, this isn't accurate at all. Considering that the PSN was shut down for a while because of hackers and all. Not to mention I have a few friends with modded PS3's who blatantly cheat in online gameplay and all they get are game specific bans when they are caught. That's why they actually prefer the PS3 to the X-Box, because Microsoft takes things a bit more seriously than Sony does.

It actually is easier to snipe a person who is in a scorpion than it is in a wraith, because the person in the wraith is set a bit lower down in the vehicle, so you have to be higher up to get the shot. (Trust me on this, it's kind of one of my things lol)

Oh that too, but there were people who would pick it up while trying to pick up a weapon near the flag a few times on accident, people who would grab the flag and drop it intentionally to annoy people, and people who would pick it up, die, have a teammate pick it up and die, and all the way through about a dozen times over.

Or you can rent a newer disc from a store that offers game rentals for as little as a dollar a day (return it the same day lol) and use that.

I see one very critical benefit from it. No more: "Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped, Flag taken, Flag dropped" crap.

Actually, the section it's in does change what the topic can be about. The offbeat section is for things that do not relate to gaming, the Haloverse, or anything else the other sections do. The General Discussion section is similar, however is strictly for back and forth conversation, rather than asking for advice or playing forum games. And lol @ virgins and basement dwellers. Most of the people who are over the age of 18 on this forum are either married, dating, or being a "bachelor". And around 25-40% of the forum's members are over 18. So in reality, probably only about 65% of the forum are virgins, and this is simply because they are too young for such activities at any rate. As for the OP: Asking in a sly/romantic way can lead to one of three things. Her acceptance, which will create a nice story to tell people. Her denial, which will make all of the effort worthless and leave YOU feeling worthless, or her confusion, which will lead to some complicated things down the road. The best way to go about asking her to homecoming is to first ask her on a date (coffee, a movie, hanging out at the park, something where it will just be the two of you) and then casually bring it up in a conversation. If you are having trouble bringing it up, just naturally say, "so what are you doing for homecoming?" If she reveals she isn't doing anything, then ask her if she'll go with you. If she already is going with someone, say something like, "darn, I was hoping to ask you" and laugh a bit. This will let her know that you are interested in her, without coming off too strong. Try not to stutter or stumble over your words, and avoid the crap out of "um" and "err". Women say they find this cute, but they mean it as in they find it cute in their friends.

Yes. Yes they can. ;D

This is correct. The harddrive can load the data into itself (and I'm not sure but I think it also takes a backup from XBLA to prevent corruption) and then can play it from itself. The reason I think it takes a backup is because for some reason this works on discs that can barely even load the game.

Last known status and location of the UNSC Say My Name was green and advancing on the Prophet of Truth's fleet near Earth. It's unclear whether or not it survived, because Truth's fleet was said to have "smashed" the "home fleet".

This could very easily and very quickly become offensive to new members, and we do not want that. Not one bit. Sorry, but topic closed.

Oh, I'd say a bunch of stuff lol Welcome back

You are half right. It's been around for five years (when Bungie broke from Microsoft after Halo 3). You are wrong about it not being made up of people who came to 343i because they love Halo though. 343i's original purpose was to oversee the development of the Halo franchise in case Bungie would not agree to do more Halo games. However, Bungie agreed to do Halo 3 ODST and Halo Reach. So, 343i was put in charge of other things related to Halo, such as Halo Waypoint, Halo Legends, and a couple of novels. After Bungie handed control of Halo over to 343i, some Bungie staff members who "still had their hearts in the game" left Bungie and came to work for 343i. You don't join a gaming company that is working on a game that has a cult following like Halo unless you love that game.

I would love to see a Halo 3 PC port. It would give modders a chance to fiddle with it and possibly make it even more fun than it is now. Also, as to the points of it being an X-Box Exclusive, I don't think that is a valid point with Halo 3 anymore. Especially after Halo 4 comes out. I hate to say this, but here in another two month H3 is going to be obsolete. People don't buy X-Box 360's just to play Halo 3 anymore, and if H3 was ported to PC people wouldn't stop playing X-Box to play it on the PC either. So the argument that it's an X-Box exclusive is moot, because it no longer sells X-Box consoles. As for Reach and H4 being ported... Yeah that's not going to happen.

Detonated, yes. But I asked when the first Nova was armed lol The first nova (aka planet killer/cracker) was armed on Reach, when the covenant started glassing it. Whether the nova went off or not is unclear, but it was armed and given a two week (if I remember) countdown.

Not really. Cyborgs (cybernetic organisms) are still inorganic. Also, it's possible that (just like with an AI's "human" mind) the cybernetic parts in the Promethean Knights have completely replaced the organic ones.
