  1. Nice find adam. I would definitely say you're on to something there. But that leads to the question, what was that facility?
  2. Seriously, what spoilers? On a side note, I'm reworking on the audio file, too. See if I can clean it up a bit more. So far have all the static gone, and mostly just what we are presuming to be a voice, but it's unintelligible.
  3. Why is it sending emails to you, Paarthurnax? Where did it get your email? Just curious, is all.
  4. Absolutely the pistol/grenade launcher. What we're seeing on the screen in the First Look is shown at 1:10 of the Halo 4 Announcement Trailer.
  5. Not a clue on the numbers. Strange. Why the 0's at the beginning?
  6. It would appear that way. Hm. Conventus is latin for convened, assembled, having been convened, etc. But, on a side note, when used as a noun, it means agreement, or Covenant.
  7. No problem. And Dan, chances are you didn't screw up. The first binary character in each line was cut off from the picture.
  8. Latest artifact: >/[iNFILTRATING CORE CONSOLE..COMPLETE] >/[CORE CONSOLE DATA RETRIEVED: 15%] >/[DISABLING ALL COMMUNICATION TERMINALS..COMPLETE] >/[uTILIZING REMAINING SUB-CONSOLES..COMPLETE] It's mine.

  10. With either H3's or Reach's, when you lost your shield, you were still simply 1 shot away from death. Period. Yes, you still had the ability to pick up a health pack, but if you got headshot prior to that, you're dead. Period. And like I said earlier, Reach's was only like that because it was the predecessor to Halo: CE. Halo 2 "upgraded" the Chief's armor and how health worked. Going back to Reach is a step backwards, technologically speaking, in the Halo universe.
  11. So you're Subject Zero, then? And from PA too? Even better. Must go prepare my shotguns... too close. Anyway, welcome!
  12. I actually get the anniversary maps a lot in regular team slayer. It surprises me, really. It seems like every other game they appear as a choice, but that's just me.
  13. If you're looking for more details, check out this forum: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/4814-the-official-why-am-i-banned-thread/
  14. And if you want to add something else after the fact, edit your post.
  15. Definitely not 10 betrayals, way to many. As for the idea itself, while plausible, it can still be abused by people who are boot happy. "Didn't betray me? Okay, but you betrayed my other teammate. See ya later!"
  16. This I like. A party slayer/objective playlist and a non-party slayer/objevtive playlist. Great idea. As for the clan battles, never played Halo 2 on live, so I don't know what it was like. Would have loved to, though. Only ever got to play when we had a LAN party.
  17. If I want quiet game play, I rarely go and physically mute individual players. Take a moment, turn your audio options to mute all, and it just quiets everybody, without handing out perma-mutes from selecting individual players. I agree that the party up option was a nice feature. Liked it much better than Reach's idea of just staying in a lobby, and maybe being played on the same team with them again.
  18. While I love Reach's health system, and we originally saw it in CE, it was upgraded in Halo 2, stayed that way in Halo 3, and should stay that way in Halo 4. It was an evolution. The only reason it wasn't like Halo 2 or 3 in Reach is because Reach happened before CE. That's why there was a physical, visible, health bar. Going back now would alter how Chief's armor currently works.
  19. But if you buy the game new, you got the online pass with your purchase. It was only $10 if you bought the game used.
  20. Because taking friendly fire off brings up a whole new set of issues. So now, instead of being careful with that rocket launcher, you see two teammates fighting two enemies in close proximity, you fire the rocket, get two kills, and your teammates live. There's no consequence for firing a rocket into melee's anymore. No consequences for grenades being thrown into melee's. While it solves the betrayal issue, it does bring up more issues on its own.
  21. While reaching for the banana, he saw another monkey.
  22. But that's the beauty of implementing both systems. You betray for the flag/oddball/whatever, you're still getting banned at some point. Now the weakening thing, that's a whole other issue dealing with friendly fire. Reach had the protector medal. What about modifying it slightly so that if somebody is shooting the flag carrier/oddball carrier, you get it instead. Protecting a team-mate who has the objective then adds value to performance. I still think the game needs to keep friendly fire in, though. Taking it out leads to even more issues, but it does fix the betrayals.
  23. Losing skill is a problem few have, and it is generally caused by not playing the game. As for being carried to a higher rank, personally it needs to be more than just wins that help you advance. Wins + Performance would be the most balanced. Wins would get you so far, but if you're performance isn't up to scratch, that's that, you're stuck at a certain rank until you really improve your skill at the game. And performance can be more than simply kills vs. deaths. Objectives can play a major role as well, kill the flag carrier? Helping your team win is a good performance. Flag captures? Same thing. Oddball time? Great. Hill time? Wonderful. You don't do any of those? Well, what are you doing for your team? But this is off topic. Back to the betrayals & booting. The problem is, any system that we can come up with, there isn't any mercy for accidental betrayals. A computer program cannot determine what was an accident or not. It's just not possible. Currently, quitting gets you banned for 10 minutes. Is a 10 minute ban enough? Maybe you take the deranking idea from my earlier post, and apply it to quitting games. You quit 5 games? 10 minutes. 10 games? 20 minutes. Etc.
  24. Prove that it couldn't happen with bloom. But seriously now, look, I understand where you ZB people are coming from, I do. But you're riding a dead horse, really. Halo 4 is coming out this year. We've seen some gameplay footage, and so far, haven't seen bloom. Isn't that what you wanted?
  25. But is it worth it? That's gonna put strain on the engine, keeping track of exact damage output from every person throughout the game.
