B1ue D3vi1
I'm a bit confused on what ONI actually is and I was wondering if someone who really knows a lot about Halo could explain it to me. I understand some things about ONI, but I don't comprehend what ONI's actual purpose is. Thanks in advance for you guys' help.
Drizzy_Dan
They're the intelligence of the UNSC. Everything they do or say has double or hidden meanings, they're sneaky and cuniving but that's part if the business of intelligence. They're the CIA, FBI, and Illuminati together and are in charge of all the black ops.
36-2071 Pragmatic Avarice
Am I the only one that thinks the ONI will eventually become an enemy of sorts by Halo 6? Assuming the universe even continues as normal after Halo 4?

ZB-85
How I would describe ONI: The Office of Naval Intelligence is a division of the UNSC Navy that is responsible for counter-espionage and propaganda. Although it is under the jurisdiction of the Navy, ONI appears to report directly to HIGHCOM. It is responsible for intelligence matters across the UNSC. As such, ONI employs members of other military branches, and even civilians, to complete the Division's shadowy work. Many of its functions and subdivisions, like the Beta-5 Division and theSPARTAN-III Program, are enigmatic, and its personnel are regarded as mysteries by mainstream naval officers. ONI personnel, especially officers, are often referred to as "spooks". Agents appear to enjoy significant latitude in the discharge of their duties, often violating moral boundaries or acquiring vast amounts of UNSC resources to achieve their ends. Katthejedi
I don't think that they will become the enemy, just that they are really secretive.

bozweby1
Am I the only one that thinks the ONI will eventually become an enemy of sorts by Halo 6? Assuming the universe even continues as normal after Halo 4? aside from actual fleet movement and command ONI pretty much calls the shots. parangosky is said to be the most feared woman in the unsc and she's grooming osman to be her successor, and osman will more than likely continue her leggacy. with that kind of power why would oni turn on its own
