I really liked the SMG in Halo 3. I hope it does make a return, that and duel wielding.

The SMG in that form, If I had to guess it probably will not be coming back. But then again this is just speculation.

The only SMG related to Halo 3 that I find acceptable is the suppressed version in Halo 3: ODST. If it were that then sure why not, otherwise we have the AR so why have the SMG? Total redundancy there.
