...stay awake while reading my textbooks for school?

Every time I read my textbooks I get so very sleepy and I fight my drowsiness. Anyone have a good idea to help me stay awake and focused on my reading assignments?

this happens every time without fail.. I read one section just fine, but then as I start reading the next one I begin getting very tired and sleepy. ugh.

You need to condition yourself. Try having an energy drink while reading your textbooks, or ginseng.

Another way is, every time you are feeling sleepy while reading a textbook pinch yourself. After enough repetition of this, you may develop an association between sleepiness while reading textbooks and pain. A shock collar would work better, but that's up to you lmao

Personally, if I really have to read something, but I'm get bored, I sit on an ice pack. Keeps you awake and you become more aware of what you are reading. Then everything becomes more interesting and I finish really fast.

Not sure if I want to use a shock collar.. :P I skipped out on Summer classes because I wanted to have that time with my girlfriend. That probably screwed me up. lol

The ice pack works... So does a small electrical charge ;)

Anyway, once you start feeling drowsy, grab an energy drink. If you don't have any, get a few sodas. I say a few, because once you drink one and the sugar high goes down, you'll need another to prevent crashing ;)

my school has text books, but we only use 1, the math but you dont read math textbooks. So idk, but the first thing that'll come to my mind is coffee, an energy drink, maybe soda? Or if you read your books at night time before you go to bed, you can take a nap before hand.

The truth is, if you are falling asleep in school while attempting to read books it is a sign you are not getting enough sleep. Energy drinks, physical discomfort and other 'remedies' do not address the real problem.

You have to be able to comprehend and give full thought to what you read. You need to be fully rested and mentally sharp when studying. I know that sound 'old school', but hey, it works and you don't have to spend $4.00 on a bunch of sugar, caffeine or Vitamin B complex's every time you feel tired.

I have been getting full nights rest though which is confusing me. I don't get it. The heat here in Germany (no AC) is probably adding to it as well.
