  1. Destiny is one of the easiest games I've ever played. I took 3 different character classes to level 32 like it was nothing. I was doing both raids, weekly's, nightfall on Tues. It would take about 5 hours. I was downing Atheon on one port. I didn't play after Tues, and would wait until Sat until Xur showed up. This got boring after getting every exotic and every trophy in the game, so I simply sold my account for $600 to some guy in the UK.
  2. Halo MCC is the worst game of 2014. It's been 3 months and still there are players that can't find an online game with and open NAT.
  3. DeepCee has no friends, and has never had a friend in his entire life. He can't possibly comprehend their being more than 1 user per Xbox. Also, why would you care about being banned on that site. It's filled with adolescents that have no clue about what they are talking about. Please release the names of the devs that couldn't properly port a 14 year old game and are responsible for making people like the creators of halobugs.com take time out of their day to create a site like halobugs.com to point out the mistakes that the devs made. People like playing games, not having to waste their personal time to encourage devs to fix their mistakes which should never have been there in the first place but yet 3 months later.....
  4. There is clearly a host advantage in matchmaking, and I know when I have host instantly after the first few kills or so. Also, not sure if you've seen this: http://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/2q2609/master_chief_collection_community_bug_list_please/ Halo CE was not at all a broken game. Halo CE on the original XBOX was never designed to be played online, only in a LAN setting. Thankfully, XBC enabled players to play online, but there was always a clear host advantage. It's the product of a competent team of game developers like Hardy Lebel. http://www.hardylebel.com/2014/09/video-game-design_universal-truth/ Halo MCC on the other hand: Bottom line is that the technology is 13 years old. At this juncture, any competent developer like Hardy Lebel can take such an old game and make it playable online without so many problems, but this is 343 we are talking about here who chose to outsource MCC instead of focusing on it. All they had to do was bring in the right consultants from the original bungie team and also feedback from Halo CE pros and we wouldn't be dealing with all these broken mechanics. Instead, they gave us an unfinished game.
  5. I'll take the opinion of a halo pro player as to what should and should not be contained in halo game from a competitive standpoint over a casual any day of the week. To NOT do so is very short sighted, because a pro player understands the game to a much greater extent than any casual ever will. This is due to the fact that they have put in much more time into the game and are PAID to play it. Now as far as non competitive play is concerned, anyone can weigh in. The term "dedicated servers" regardless of the technical explanation behind them, is marketed by gaming companies such as 343 to indicate that the connection and overall experience will be better, and that everyone would essentially be on an even playing field, with no one having a "host adv". Instead of delivering on this selling point, 343 made halo MCC such that in matchmaking, one person is the host, and everyone else who is playing experiences more lag than the host. Do you know what the current # of XB1's and PS4's sold post Christmas is? Not that it matters because I'm not even sure how Microsoft vs PS4 is relevant to my statement of not buying games from broken companies like 343.
  6. There are several Halo players who post on the Team Beyond site that are the best players in the world. This is not an opinion, it is a fact based on the results of tournament and LAN play over several years. Because of this, their opinion as to what constitutes competitive halo is more valued that the opinion of a casual for obvious reasons. That being said, 343 is a business to make money, but they are also liars. They claimed that MCC would contain dedicated servers and that the "experience would be just like original halo, just as you remembered it." Any sensible consumer isn't going to pre-order much less purchase Halo 5 simply based on the feedback that the halo community has given on MCC. I can't even join a game where at least one of the people playing doesn't have a clan tag along the lines of: "343 ruined halo" or "343 killed halo" Since 343 didn't make the right decisions regarding MCC, it contains tons of bugs. See halobugs.com Also see: http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2014/11/22/microsoft-is-losing-xbox-one-momentum-due-to-343s-halo-master-chief-collection-misdeeds/ So really at this juncture, caring whether or not halo 5 has sprint or doesn't is laughable at best. Feel free to have an opinion that isn't shared by any sensible consumer. Buy into the hype, get the game, or be wise and don't purchase games from a company that makes broken games. Halo CE 13 years ago wasn't broken. Incompetent companies of today can't even correctly port 13 year old technology, and I'm not even talking about the online aspect of it. The port simply contains so many things wrong with it that was never an issue in the original game!
  7. This is actually a factual statement. You wouldn't have to buy another game. Anyone who disagrees is under 20 years old and can't appreciate the greatest game to ever be released on console. This coming from someone who's played more games on more systems than most have. NES, Sega Master system, Sega CD, Sega 32X, Genisis. Neo-Geo, SNES, Turbo Graphix, TurboDuo.....Atari Jaguar, Game Boy, Xbox original, Sega Saturn, 3DO, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Cube, PS1, PS2, PS3, Wii, Wii U, 360, Xbox One, PS4..... the list goes on. I honestly could care less about any game on any of these consoles that I have played so long as halo 1 on xbox plays like LAN. I tried to find a game that was better on all these consoles. I really did, but they sadly didn't make the cut. Maybe in another 10 years.
  8. On one hand you have some kid that thinks he's accomplished something by beating the AI in a game on legendary. On another hand you have some skilled gamer knowing that they've accomplished something by having a respectable K/D ratio. The 2nd accomplishment is far greater than the first. Anyone can play a repetitive AI, figure it out, and beat legendary. Not everyone can be in the top 5% in the world in K/D ratio. That actually takes skill, and that's the best way to get true enjoyment out of a game. At least for me. I've played enough games where you beat the AI and finish the game. This does nothing for me anymore. A shame that lessons like these aren't taught to kids. It's all about "having fun" and taking the easiest way possible to get false self gratification. So please, enlighten me again as to why I would be worried about how unlimited amo in the campain effects my enjoyment of making my opposition go negative in K/D every night lol?!? Skull on or off, both result in no skill in the grand sceme of things. It's like saying a $1000 car is better than a $500 car. In the end, both are not worth a second thought when you look at the big picture.
  9. Reverted to Halo PC rather than Halo CE, and there's 364 players on. Thanks!
  10. I loaded up halo CE for the PC. I'm on 1.10 patch. There's many servers but all of them are 0/16 in team slayer, and only one server on Danger Canyon on is 15/16 CTF. So only 15 people playing total, in the entire Halo Custom Edition. What do I need to download to see a new server list with more than 15 people playing? Is there a particular server IP that you recommend playing on? What's the difference between Halo CE and Halo PC as seen here: http://halo-fixes.findforum.net/t36-bungie-officially-releases-patch-110-includes-the-lobby-fix I only have halo CE installed.
  11. Many of these players don't understand how much skill is involved in Halo CE. They think that they are going to pick the game up and own like they do at COD and halo 4. (very easy games to get kills in) I'll honestly be shocked if someone scores more than 5 kills in a game upto 50 the first 6 months they have it in 2v2 TS against skilled players.
  12. Not all of us care about "fun factor" or "latest and greatest best graphics" Many of us just want to be able to play the original halo and halo 2 just as they were, on multiplayer on xbox live. From what Frankie said, that's exactly what we are getting. On the console, there still isn't a FPS that takes more skill than the original halo. And this is coming from OGRE2, the best halo player in the world. Best FPS on the console that takes the most skill is counter strike. With the fact that the gaming industry has dumbed down games so that today's generation can handle it, you need to be thankful that they are re-releasing halo 1 and halo 2 for online live play. (everyone has to be a winner by today's standards, no child left behind) It will probably be the last game released takes any real skill.
  13. http://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/287m0k/halo_the_master_chief_collection_matchmaking_issue/ci88wm7
  14. Based on this each game has it's own dedicated play list. https://twitter.com/Brav/status/476135947277324288
  15. From what I understand there will be dedicated play lists for each game in addition to the random playlists that includes all 4 games. With Bravo and ghost in charge of the playlists, I'm hoping that they get it right but I'd rather not take any chances. They should bring in the big dog Alex Seropian to consult on the Halo CE portion. For me, a must have is a 2v2 team slayer play list that would be called 2v2 TS MLG or something to that effect which would contain the following maps and settings: Kills to Win = 50 Death Bonus = Off Kill Penalty = Off Other Players On Radar = Off Respawn Time = 5 Seconds Suicide Penalty = 10 Seconds Equipment = Generic Maps in this playlist to vote on should be: Creek, Dere, HH, Chill Out, Priz, and Dammy 4v4 TS playlists can include the larger maps.
  16. Well there in lies the fact that we really aren't arguing about anything then since we are talking about 2 different things. I'm talking about competitive game play and you're talking about modding capability. I was saying that from a competitive standpoint the PC version is inferior, and it's not just the LAN connection, it's the overall hit detection mechanic difference. From a modding standpoint PC is better, but the console version holds it's own because the completely new maps that were done in the link I shared play just like the original maps, and they flow every well and everything was thought out. I'm not talking about the 6 PC maps being converted to console, I'm talking about completely different maps.
  17. For those that are planning on playing Halo CE and wind up losing 50-5 or something ridiculous due to the game having the highest skill curve out of any console game in the history of gaming, are you going to want to improve your game or are you just simply not going to play it? I see so many new players to Halo CE get frustrated because they cannot keep up against seasoned vets. They have no understanding of the 3 main concepts of this game which are absolutely necessary in order to hold your own. These are weapon respawn times, nade points, and spawn locations. When playing Halo CE 2v2 at the highest level, one of the most common strategies is the spawn trap. If you kill one of the players, and the other player is still alive, more often than not it is best to leave the living player alive and kill the respawning player as soon as he spawns. This is done by knowing where the spawn points are. The counter to this tactic, is to stand on a location that will cause your partner to spawn in a random location, and flank the opponent. The worst thing you can do as a teammate is stand on a force spawn when you are getting shot at from a lesser vantage point and get your partner killed along with you. If I see you alive and your not on a random, I already have a nade waiting at your partners respawn location or sniper zoomed in. Of courseif both players die at the same time, the spawn for both of them is a random. I know that this sounds cheap, but it really makes the game much more fun when both teams are pulling randoms left and right, and not doing so is considered a major error. Here is the spawn system explained: The maps where spawns are most important are Chillout, Hang em High, prisoner, Damnation, Derelect, and Battle Creek. Example of random spawns on HH http://i13.tinypic.com/5y2i8fl.jpg Note that the spawn system doesn't apply to 3v3 and 4v4. Next is weapon respawn times. On all maps, the weapons respawn at the same exact time, every time from the second the game starts. So if you are on a map where the RL is respawning every 2 min, you will want to ensure that you are in position to get it. This is where a timer comes into play. http://i.imgur.com/fdPWI.png Next is nade points. Learn them. Master them. The rocket/camo combo in this game is key. The game is like chess, one team tries to guess where the other team will be positioned to have the best possible chance of securing the power-ups during respawn. Not all nade tricks in the following video are useful as they take way to long to pull off. While they will work against noobs, good players will exploit your every attempt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBDF8cCAA0E By mastering these tactics, (in addition to becoming proficient with all the weapons and which weapons to use and when) over time you will be able to enjoy the game much more, and come to realize why it's the greatest FPS console game ever made.
  18. If your going to try and form an opinion, at least base it on correct information. The console version contains modded maps just like the PC version. The difference however is that prior to release, the modded console maps underwent rigorous beta testing to ensure that they were suitable for competitive game play. Weapon placement, spawns, and overall map flow. http://www.halo1forum.com/modding/26-halo-1-5-halo-1-5-lan-edition-download.html I've played several halo PC modded map and from a competitive standpoint, they pale in comparison. Also on halo PC, the hit detection is completely different than console. Feels completely different. I was one of the first to use an Xbox controller on halo CE using an adapter and 3rd party software. The feeling of the controls is not the issue, it's the overall game itself feels different. Anyone who's played enough of both versions would know the difference. If Halo PC gamers want to play their inferior (from a competitive standpoint) let them. As someone that's put in considerable time into both versions, it's no comparison as to which version contains the higher skill curve. Any objection to that opinion is simply due to not fully understanding the complexity of the game from a skill standpoint.
  19. Last I checked there was about 400 players playing Halo CE on PC. When this game comes out on XB1, those numbers will be crushed because halo CE on console > Halo CE on PC. Regardless if you are playing on a dedicated server or not, playing against another console box over the internet through the use of p2p software against someone across the USA is "online". An internet connection was used to play, and as long as host had 3mbps dl, pings and packet sending was fine resulting in minimal lag. Halo CE came out on console and I was playing it for 2 years before I bought the PC version. Playing it on the PC and console at the same time I noticed after a year that the PC version was inferior. LAN in the same home on CE is superior to Halo PC and so was XBC on the console. Take any halo PC player today and play against anyone I mentioned on the console, and they would get dominated. Anyways, this game is coming out on console and not on PC (thank goodness) so there's no point really in discussing the inferior PC platform.
  20. Radar in Halo CE does reduce skill. Why do you think they REMOVED it in competitive play for CE? For that very reason. Feel free to continue to try and argue with me Prime. Your opinion couldn't be more wrong. And twinreaper lost credibility with me when he said that Halo CE on the PC is where the only multiplayer took place. The only type of gamer that wouldn't want a rank system to be included in this game is one that doesn't want to be exposed as having a lack of skill.
  21. Go back and read the OP's post. He didn't say anything about all 4 games, he said JUST HALO 2 on the xbox 360. An anniversary ed of just Halo 2 would run just fine. Bottom line however is that if you wanna play, you gotta pay.
  22. Halo CE came out on the XBOX in 2001. We would play it on-line using a PC app called Gamespy, and then later on using the far better XBC software. There would be 300-400 games hosted on any given weekday. If you actually played the game back then, you would know this. After the first month, if you joined or made a game that didn't have the pistol/AR start and radar turned off, either people would leave your game or you would leave theirs. No one played with a plasma pistol start and radar. This was standard practice. 2v2 team slayer was standard, sometimes 4v4 TS and objective games. . The same thing held true for the lan games. Halo PC came out in 2003, and we played that as well but the hit detection was inferior and the competition much more inferior to those that played on the console. We gave it a chance, and custom games were decent, but overall the game just didn't measure up to the console version. Gearbox tried, gave us 6 more maps, and there were many interesting user made maps but compared to the console it didn't stand a chance. For Halo CE, the best players who still play currenlty are Ogre 2, Patch, Harris, and Legend. Ask any of them and they will tell you 2v2 is the prefered game with the settings mentioned above. Pistol/AR start with no radar. CE WAS perfect without a rank system, until the halo 2 rank system was launched. The good players are not always going to play customs, so I have no interest in playing against novices that will take years to match the skill level of someone that's been playing for 13 years, and I'm sure they will not get any enjoyment out of the game either constantly getting killed. That's where the rank system comes in. Good players will rank up quickly, so that elite players can play against each other. The only people who don't want a rank system are bad players that want to feel like a winner. The presence of a low rank # by their name is the last thing they want lol! There's going to be alot of frustrated kids getting stomped in this game unless a rank system is applied. Default settings for team slayer 2v2 and 4v4 should be: Kills to Win = 50 Death Bonus = Off Kill Penalty = Off Other Players On Radar = Off Respawn Time = 5 Seconds Suicide Penalty = 10 Seconds Equipment = Generic
  23. I can see it now.... map options to vote for are: Halo CE: Chillout, Halo CE: Hang Em High, Halo 2: Ascension Team votes for Halo CE: Chillout Game starts up, it's 4v4 with a plasma pistol to start off and radar is on...... No one plays Halo CE like this. For Halo CE there needs to be a stand alone playlist that is 2v2 that has generic pistol start with no radar with the ranking system that was used in halo 2. Custom games is fine, but definitely need this also. What are kids going to do when they go up against old school halo 1 pros in 2v2 and get dominated 50-2? Quit out, join back up, and pray that a halo CE map is not voted on again LOL? Put the CE maps in it's own community with it's own ranking system. Give the Halo 3 - Halo 4 kids a chance to not get their ranking destroyed by the elder old sckool halo 1 gods! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4wnisEw7aG4
