  1. Twin, man, i am lost for words, i remember when you first came, funny isnt the word, righting the wrongs, correcting the mistakes, putting intelligent replies to misunderstood folks. Im absolutely shocked. We all need breaks form time to time, I am a fine example. I hope, no I pray you return. As for not being missed, you are leaving a hole that, quite frankly no one can fill. Your insight, background into the true Halo was and is the best read on any forum anywhere on the internet. I hope your impending journey brings you back to us in the end, Twinreaper - you will never be forgotten! and for those people that hate towards you, why? this guy gave you the facts, okay you might not want ot have heard it, but he gave you THE FACTS! So long my friend, may our paths cross again! ps. i love your brain! pps. typical your sig is sorted and you leave
  2. too many games with 0 kills, no one is that bad that they cant get 0 kills. Im no expert on Halo Reach and I can even get a kill or 2 lol may I recommend custom games to practice. The problem with the banhammer is that it cant distinguish between a player who is realy bad - constant 0 kills and a player that is not playing (AFK) Your a Captain, so you should have some idea how to play this game, and be able to get some kills, if this is your first offence, then it will possibly be 24hours. although without checking through your game history, ask yourself this question, how many games did i get no kills or AFK, if the answer is a lot, then the ban could be 1 or 2 weeks depending on how many games you got 0 kills, If you are that bad, then play firefight, its a good way to practice using the weapons, you can earn a lot of credits, you will get kills, so wont get banned unless you do AFK.
  3. Welcome back Doc glad you returned
  4. has this happened more than once? I had it happen yesterday when I was doing the firefight dailty challenges. it means the game hasnt synced with the Reach servers, just go back to dashboard then reload up Reach, this fixed it for me
  5. It's no secret that pre-owned sales make up a rather sizeable chunk of most games retailer's revenues, and 100% of said revenue goes to the retailers in question, rather than being divvied up between the hard-working devs and publishers behind the products themselves and the stores stocking the games on their shelves. However, it seems that there's a mutual compromise that could benefit both parties. Several retail brands have declared that they'd be willing to cut publishers in on their pre-owned profits, providing they're willing to make certain concessions. "As a retail store we would happily share part of the sale from a used game if we get something in return," Gordon Crawford from indie retail chain Gamespod told MCV. "Perhaps new games at better prices and no more online codes." Online Passes are currently used by THQ, EA, Ubisoft and others to recoup the revenues otherwise lost to pre-owned games sales, but HMV is a little cagey regarding Gamespod's proposal to share with the publishers. "We all know how the business model in the industry is changing. So if there is any merit in this idea then it may be worth looking into," said HMV in a statement. "If you want to stop these one-time codes then yeah, fair enough, we'll share revenues. If publishers gave me a better deal, then maybe. The publishers are not the poor man here," Julian Slater from Bits and Pieces added. Some retailers meanwhile, aren't necessarily convinced that the publishers will play ball when it comes to the proposal. "We'd definitely like to do this, but I don't see it being something publishers would implement," Chris Muckell from Xpress Games stated. "With new releases dropping in price after just the second week, I'd have thought their investments would be better in making money from DLC." For the time being, and for better or worse, it looks like Online Pass schemes are here to stay then. That is until the publishers and retailers can come to some sort of agreement where pre-owned games are concerned, which might not happen anytime soon. Time will tell... (courtesy of oxm)
  6. If you're finding yourself at a loose end this weekend, then perhaps this week's Gears of War 3 event will see you right, with a Horde Dance-a-Thon offering intterest on accumulated cash and XP as long as you can stay alive, meaning extra XP that compounds until you fail a wave. Should you fail a wave, the values reset and you'll automatically start to rebuild your numbers again. You won't have to restart though, which is nice. There's an event ribbon for playing ths playlist too, and obviously added XP for the canny Horde gambler, as long as you can survive, so you'll want to grab your best GoW3 comrades for this one. Also going on this weekend in Gears of War 3 is the return of the Brothers to the End playlist, in which you and a frag-buddy can band together in a 2v2 Team Deathmatch. That's your weekend sorted then! Happy Gears of War 3 XP hoarding and Horde-ing, friends! (courtesy of Epic Games Community)
  7. Squad DLC Super Jackpot: The January matchmaking Playlist as you know went Live on Tuesday, and while it was a fairly smooth deployment, there was one minor hiccup: Double Team showed up as DLC required. That was fixed as of Wednesday afternoon, so everybody who enjoys sharing their Halo experience with one other person, and one other person only, can now frequent that particular hopper, regardless of their DLC status. 343 also decided to throw a Super Jackpot in there as well. It’s already live and will continue through the weekendThe jackpot is an extra 15,343 cR when playing the Squad DLC playlist.
  8. yep same here chain smoke whilst on xbox
  9. The latest DLC for Assassin's Creed: Revelations has been confirmed by Ubisoft. The Mediterranean Traveller Map Pack will be available to download from January 24th, for 800 Microsoft Points. The pack, which was outed by a GameStop listing in early December, offers up six additional maps for the game's Abstergo-based multiplayer modes. There's three new 'uns - Jerusalem, Dyers and Constantinople's imperial district, as well as three lifted from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Firenze, San Donato and a twilight Siena

  11. Personally I saw no problem with armor lock the way it was, the haters and complainers did so much moaning they got there way, AL was easy to overcome, now its useless!
  12. Simply put commendations = credits so what's the problem with them being involved with credit cap. 150,000 cR a day is enough, may I suggest you check out the bright shiny object outside your window, its called the sun.
  13. Whilst it is MEMBER of the month, I can think of no one else that deserves it more than Absolute Dog, reason is simple he has single handedly run this forum recently giving up his time, and lots of it to ensure smooth running of 343i. He is now taking a well deserved break, and us the other moderators need to step up to the plate and continue Dogs fantastic work.
  14. Should you have missed out on the half price Mortal Kombat Season Pass during the 12 days of Xbox deals promotion, this should help ease the pain. Warner Bros. interactive has just revealed the Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, which comes with all of the Season Pass content, as well as a whole raft of extra skins for the game's kombatants. The Komplete Edition comes off the back of 3 million units of Mortal Kombat sold, bringing together the game's DLC all in one package. That means you get the four additional characters, namely Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain and Freddie Krueger, alongside 15 Klassic skins and three Klassic fatalities for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile. Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition will be koming to consoles all over EarthRealm on March 2nd, 2012. Take a look at the box art below.
  15. It appears that someone at SEGA has dropped a bit of a bollock today, as the Collector's Edition of Aliens: Colonial Marines has been leaked on French gaming site Gamekyo, revealing a premium boxset with all manner of additional goodies, including the piece de resistance; a highly detailed resin display model of an iconic Aliens powerloader being attacked by a xenomorph. The Collector's Edition, which has yet to be officially unveiled or confirmed by SEGA, includes a copy of the game with special artwork, a USCM dossier and the statue, all crammed into a limited edition display box with a foldout wrap around display. There's also some exclusive in-game content with the Collector's Edition too, with multiplayer weapons, such as the flamethrower, Smart gun and an upgraded Pulse Rifle. There's also an additional game mode thrown in, called the USCM Academy Firing Range, rounding out the package. Check out the leaked image of the Aliens: Colonial Marines Collector's Edition below, then prepare to start firing in short controlled bursts when the game launches later in the year. Pricing for the CE has yet to be revealed.
  16. Though the Xbox 360 currently has a litany of streaming options available, back in 2007 that just wasn’t the case. About the only thing you could stream on your 360 in 2007 were files from your computer, as long as it was Windows compatible. Microsoft didn’t always plan for that to be the case though, and as tech website Tom’s Guide found (and Joystiq reported), Microsoft was actually planning to allow console owners to record digital content directly to their consoles. A patent for a gaming console DVR filed in 2007 by Microsoft was just approved, and though it’s not likely to affect 360 owners that much, the prospects are intriguing for future Microsoft devices. Even though the 360 now offers a large amount of streaming options, with even more to come, a DVR function would actually be pretty handy. It would take the next Xbox one step closer to becoming a fully-fledged media center that would truly be the centerpiece of any owner’s living room. That said, pretty much every cable provider in the nation now offers a DVR set-top box with a subscription, so the value of this patent may not be what it once was in 2007. Of course, just because new technology (or old tech in new devices) has been patented, that doesn’t mean it will ever see the light of day. Microsoft could have developed this patent to make sure no other gaming console could offer the feature. The timing of the filing was right around the release of the PS3, so the possibility can’t be entirely ruled out. What do you think? Will the next Xbox come with a DVR, or is it an unnecessary feature thanks to all the streaming options available?
  17. Square-Enix has announced that a demo of Final Fantasy XIII-2 is coming to Xbox Live on January 11. In addition, a new trailer for the game reveals the role of the venerable Moogle in FFXIII-2, as an assistant to Serah. She can use her Moogle to uncover rare treasures called “Wild Artefacts” by using his scanning magic on certain parts of a dungeon map. Her partner Noel can actually pick up and fling the Moogle for distance, making it possible for Serah to pick up treasures that the player otherwise couldn't reach. The Moogle also enables an ability called the “Mog Clock” that lets Serah and Noel begin battles with either a bonus or a penalty. It's not clear from the trailer how the Mog Clock works or what the exact penalties and bonuses are, though the Mog Clock seems to make preemptive strikes easier as a bonus. Naturally, the trailer also doesn't make it clear exactly why Serah is traveling with a Moogle or exactly what the Moogle's relationship to her is. Maybe the demo can shed a little more light on that when it drops on the 11th.

  19. Ninja Theory co-founder and "Chief Creative Ninja" Tameem Antoniades has revealed that he received death threats over the studio's reboot of Devil May Cry, specifically the redesign of the series' main character Dante. In an interview with OXM, Antoniades said that 28 Days Later (and Enslaved) writer Alex Garland had warned him about such behaviour, but he wasn't prepared for the creative ways in which angry fans threatened his life. "Alex Garland warned me about it because he experienced a similar thing with 28 Days Later where people were upset that it didn't feature real zombies. And now with his upcoming Dredd movie," he said. "So I was half prepared for it, although I have to say that it has been pretty eye opening to see some of the creative ways in which people have chosen to vent their hatred. We didn't expect death threats in comic book form or anti-DmC death metal songs!" "It's pretty hard for me to back the decisions we made without showing actual gameplay to the public. So until that time comes, and it will come soon, I just have to put up with the rage." It's not entirely bad though. Antoniades also said that, "lots of people have come and said that they are now interested in DmC whereas they had previously lost interest in the series. We'll see how this plays out." DmC is out this year.

  21. Despite allaying people's fears over Xbox Live apparently being hacked back in November following reports in The Sun newspaper, new reports of hacking have cropped up online this week raising concerns that the security of Microsoft's online service might have been compromised. The latest occurence comes from an Xbox Live subscriber who had her account sold through a China-based site, to a Polish Xbox Live user. Once she discovered what had happened to her account, finding that unauthorised purchases had been made through the service using PayPal, the hacked user got in touch with Microsoft's Xbox Live Customer Service, at which point she was assured that her account had been deactivated to allow for investigation. 72 hours later however, the user returned to her account only to find that it hadn't been blocked at all, and that more money had been taken from it via PayPal once again. Microsoft claimed that this was down to one of several "malicious 'phishing' scams", maintaining that "Xbox Live has not been hacked. Microsoft can confirm that there has been no breach to the security of our Xbox Live service," read a statement issued in November 2011. In October, hackers had also apparently gained access to Xbox Live user profiles, which were then used to purchase Microsoft Points and to buy content for FIFA 11 and FIFA 12, and there have even been reports of Xbox Live hacking stretching all the way back to November 2010. Still, it remains unclear what exactly is going on with the security of Xbox Live and whether these reported breaches are down to phishing scams, as Microsoft claims, or a compromise of the service's security. For the time being, we'd recommend staying vigilant when signed in to Xbox Live and perhaps take VG247's advice of at least considering purchasing Microsoft Points cards from retailers, rather than directly via credit card or PayPal. If you're concerned about your Xbox Live account, you can get in touch with the Xbox Live Customer Service on www.xbox.com/security.
