Call of Duty: Elite Premium members are in for a treat today, as the first batch of downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3, starting with two maps to add to multiplayer, available exclusively to Xbox 360 Elite subscribers. This kickstarts a whole 2012 season of content for Call of Duty: MW3, of which there'll be loads in the coming months. Your two Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 maps are available to download from CoD: Elite now, and are the following: •Elite Drop 1: Piazza Map - This seaside Italian getaway is anything but idyllic, as tight corners and branching pathways pose great risk at every turn. Close-range combat dominates, and the team that best utilizes flanking routes will most often come out on top. Attacks from behind, above and below are an ever-constant threat. Keep up your awareness and don’t get taken by surprise. •Elite Drop 2: Liberation Map - A militarized Central Park stretches across a vast landscape, ripe for long-range sniper and LMG fire. Mounted turrets on either end lend power to anyone brave enough to expose themselves in exchange for deadly firepower. Plan out your movement and always be aware of nearby sightlines to avoid becoming fodder for the enemy. Check out the trailer below for instructions on how to download the new Modern Warfare 3 maps via Call of Duty: Elite, then get stuck into some more multiplayer action. [Via Major Nelson]

Okay lets see I did enjoy Bulletstorm, especially as the only reason i bought it was to get access to gears 3 beta. Crysis i liked 1 better than 2, thought 2 was way too slow. but one i bought off marketplace and really enjoyed Brink, never played, will have to try it Rage again never played will have to try it Battlefield 3, i started to play it but to be honest, thought it was a big steaming pile of ... well you get the idea Skyrim, that just does not appeal to me, not my cup of tea What about Gears of War 3? also would be interested to hear anyones opinions on Rage & Brink. worth a try? Avoid? -
Looks like yesterday's online and offline protests had some impact. SOPA and PIPA are dead. For now, at least. Both the Protect Intellectual Property Act (PIPA) and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) were due to be voted for in US congress this Tuesday, but the debates have now been postponed indefinitely. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith said that his panel would not push ahead with SOPA until there is “wider agreement” on the proposed solution. PIPA, meanwhile, has been postponed by Senate Majority leader Harry Reid. He issued a statement today citing the "legitimate issues" raised by protesters for keeping the bill from congress. Reid also called for PIPA author Senator Patrick Leahy to "continue engaging with all stakeholders to forge a balance between protecting Americans' intellectual property, and maintaining openness and innovation on the internet." Sounds like a victory to me. Good work, internet

The XBLA version of Minecraft will be the first game on the system to receive "constant updates," according to developers 4J Studios. Thanks to Microsoft's content authorisation process, it currently takes time to get updates through the system and live to users. But that's all about to change, 4J's chief technology officer Paddy Burns told Edge. "Microsoft knows that to do a similar thing that's on PC where they constantly update it, that's a very difficult thing to do on Xbox because you have to go through the full tests," he said. "But they are quite keen to move towards that - they do see it as the future, so I think we might be the first to do constant updates." The updates, however, won't be coming as thick and fast as in the PC version of the game. "I don't think it'll ever come to that," said Burns. "I think that there will always be Microsoft testing involved." "But the whole turnaround of that testing they're hoping to speed up, so we can maybe roll out every two months. We'll have to see how that goes... I'm really looking forward to it being updated with patches and new features after it's released." Burns also revealed that the version that will hit XBLA at launch will contain everything in PC beta release 1.6.6.

The 12th terminal is a bit of a myth and doesn't actually exist, there is however a secret 11th terminal thread is here. http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/4769-secret-terminal-in-halo-waypoint-and-how-to-get-it/page__pid__41511#entry41511 You do need to find all the terminals in Halo CEA first, plus it pays out a nice 100,000cR

I love Installation 04 as a map, it throws out all the old firefight tactics and makes it a new experience, with that said i kind of see where the Op comes from it isnt your typical firefight map as has come before. but thats what makes it so different

LOGO Competition - Get Your Artistic Heads On
Spectral Jester replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Announcements
Just a heads up this is my attempt we are looking for something a little better than this -
Okay so here it is. a competition to stamp your mark on the 343i forums. What we woudl like from all you graphic designers out there is a another logo. Youve all seen the logo in the top left, and the different ones we have for Christmas, Thanksgiving etc. Well we would like YOU the members to design a new one. which will be proudly displayed on the forum. The staff / moderating team will be the judges. You are free to design whatever you see fit, I've asked Twam and these are the essentials File Type should be .PNG File Size is 591 x 146 - This is the same as our current logo Also for legal reasons twam will have to get the logo approved by 343 before putting it live. That as they say is it. If you have any questions then feel free to PM myself or any of the moderating team. Finished pictures can be lsubmitted in this thread. Get those artistic heads on and go. Oh one final thing, the contest ends Sunday 22nd

Ong-Bak star and Muay Thai badass Tony Jaa is awesome. Movie tie-in video games usually aren't, so we're not sure how we should feel about the announcement of Ong-Bak: The Video Game, which is set to go multiplatform later this year. Thailand-based developer Studio HIVE has secured the rights to the movie series, making the game in close collaboration with Ong-Bak movie studio Sahamongkol Film International. Studio HIVE is promising a "much deeper story involvement for all Ong-Bak fans", says today's press release. “It’s a great honour for our team to work on the very first Ong-Bak multiplatform game. As a Thai development studio we love the movie and have a deep understanding of the Ong-Bak brand values and will make sure that the videogame will be an inspiring martial arts action experience for gamers” said Kan Supabanpot, General Manager at Studio HIVE. Ong-Bak: The Video Game will be launching sometime in 2012, although platforms for the "multiplatform" title have not yet been confirmed.

They should of left it in, it was your last line of defence, and to be quite honest it also depended on your connection to register properly I used to play lot of living dead and sword block was incredibly useful granted 75% of the time it didn't work, even if you did pull it off correctly it took most of your energy anyway. I just can't see why they would take it out.
