  1. I agree that banning people from talking is a little extreme. When I mute people, I dont expect that my decision to mute gets logged anywhere... I presumed that it simply silenced the player. Had no idea I was simultaniously voting to ban. Most of the time, its an overly talkative kid with a high-pitched voice that has to say something every time he hits the jump button. Other times its people playing music, people yelling and fighting, or some kindly black fellow yelling "AWWWW YEAAAAAA M$@##%#" over and over again. In these instances, ease of muting is my favourite feature. Wish it worked so well in COD and Battlefield. Personally, I don't talk on the mic unless I'm playing Full House Poker or Rainbow Six.
  2. Lol mhmm.... what? So, which one are you?
  3. Just two key things that would have me shovelling cash out of my pocket like a fiend... 1. Higher player counts. Oh how I TIRE of 8v8 matches. How many iterations of Halo do I have to put up with before we can be treated to something reminiscent of an actual war? Halo works best in BTB scenarios, when every player on the map is converging on one open vista, with vehicles whizzing around, bullets visibly flying across the map and s#!% blowing up everywhere. Only rarely do things come together perfectly like this, but when they do it creates a feast for the eyes. Imagine 32v32 player matches? or 64v64? or 100vs100? Crazy battles would be breaking out all over the map. It would be Halo multiplayer fully realized. And it would inject a much needed breath of fresh air into what is starting to become a tired and predictable formula. Not to say that I'm not loving Halo 4's MP, but I think in the next generation of consoles we will be at that point where the technology will be capable of bigger servers. And if we don't get it I'm going to be royally peeved. I mean, these are "war games", not "skirmish games". 2. Dynamic, destructible environments. This is less of a concern, considering that destructible environments isn't what Halo is about. But, if 343i were to take a page out of the Battlefield playbook, this would be the ticket. The best thing about Battlefield is when your in the middle of a firefight, and bricks of cement are flying around, panes of glass are breaking, paper is exploding from mailboxes and generally environmental details are coming apart. This always adds unbelievable amounts of immersion and awe. Halo doesn't necessarily need to have important structures crumbling, but some sort of middle ground will add a lot. The next generation of consoles will certainly have the capacity to deliver on this. With all that RAM and CPU power, particle details should be abundent. Something that is undoubtedly missing from the Halo universe. Everything else is OK with me. Though, I'm hoping for unpredictable innovation, as well.
  4. hear hear! I popped in Halo 3 a few weeks ago - just to test this prevailing theory that Halo 3 was and still is the best game that has ever existed in all the known universe. I got through a single game before giving up. The pacing is so slow, the aesthetic appeal is now archaic, and the fun factor is zero. You nailed it: nostalgia. Its my suspicion that the complainers are hung up on precious childhood memories. As for me, I was old enough at the time that Halo 3 was big to understand that is really wasn't all that great. Granted, at the time it was released I had awesome fun with it. But its old now. The only Halo game that ever lives up to the nostalgia for me is Combat Evolved. I still have my Halo CE disk in my game case, because going back to that game never gets tiring. Brings back all the joys of pubecence.
  5. With close friends, depending on how obliterated your braincells happen to be.
  6. Im indifferent. People tend to express hate towards it, but I can't really understand why. I'm SR38, so I've been playing quite a bit, yet I've only seen the gun used 10 times (give or take), and used effectively even less. I may have been killed by it once or twice. The only ones who use it religiously are those players that literally just sit crouched in a corner, waiting for unsuspecting players to walk by. The way I see it, if anyone wants to waste their time playing like that, then I guess they deserve the odd kill.
  7. My dad gave me his brothers old NES in 1993, at age 3. Baaaaaad move lol. I now live with a controller lodged between my fingers.
  8. 8. The standard ability to run (RUN, CHIEF, RUN!) 9. Armour Abilities (namely the auto sentry, always got my back) 10. Big Team Slayer has its own playlist (this is key) 11. Join during games (finally quitting doesn't screw the team over, and people quitting doesn't screw the team over. So frustrating being stuck in a 2 vs 8 in Reach, and being either forced to play it out, or forced to quit and then get SUSPENDED from playing for doing so. Oi vey that was a game breaker for me.) Gotta love that autoturret. If for no other reason than it lets you know when theres an enemy in front of it, allowing you to look away and focus on another lane.
  9. Cool, looking forward to it. Nothing else like it on the 360, and its always nice to see 32 player pvp. Until November, anyways...
  10. Halogeek99, on 11 Mar 2013 - 18:30, said: No Kevin, the game is not fine. I respectfully disagree.
  11. Everyone seems to have some ridiculously daft opinion about why their franchise is no longer the greatest thing since sliced bread. You can rationalize it however you want. Fact of the matter is, the game is fine. We are simply living in a different time, the software landscape has changed. None of this means that you cant simply enjoy Halo, like many of us choose to do. Its that simple.
  12. You people dont understand how Gamertags work, do yah? They are persistent! Xbox -> Xbox360 -> nextBox : same gamertag. If you want to change your GT, you either pay for it, or you wait until your XBLA account expires and sign up for a new one. now stop bein such scrubs.
  13. I choose to construe this thread as your personally supporting hitler... HAIL?!
  14. A little free-writing never hurt. Let the crazy sh!t flow, brutha man.
