  1. Thanks, it's descriptive but that list add an additional 25 give or take spartans that were serviceable after augmentations. The list below it accounts for 9 of the 13 spartans that failed augmentations but survived. I understand the whole "secret spartans", but most of the extra characters have story lines that mirror the core group that were identified. Excluding the grey and black team. As much as a full list of every surviving spartan II would be neat - it would eliminate the ability to add in new characters. I guess my only gripe is that there is no mention of spartans being tasked out besides the grey team in the fall of reach.
  2. The other team is closer to the tank, that's why. It's giving the maps diversity so it's not cloned force on force. It's the same with one of the other levels that gives one team the wraith and the other team the rocket hog. I kinda like it, gives the games more variables.
  3. So this is something that has probably confused all of the halo book readers at one point. I was confused for some time, then I thought that I fully understood the roster. After looking over it again, I realize I am still confused. This leaves 33 healthy spartan IIs after augmentations and before any die in combat. In Halo - Fall of Reach the author states that of the 75 trainees, 30 die and 12 are crippled and become serviceable. Canon later on states that the dead were frozen for the hope of rezzing their corpses...It also states that "SOME" of the 12 crippled were eventually saved from their injuries and serviceable again. I was going to try and compile a list for the active Spartans directly after the augmentations, and a list for the crippled ones but I'm pretty tired...and obviously confused. The confusion sets in when you count the spartan IIs that have been mentioned from reach up until now. With so many new random ass faces appearing left and right. Like Naomi? Where the **** did she come from lol? I literally just started reading the sequel to ghost of onyx which is my fault - kinda drifted away from the books for a while but I'm back at it now. Do we count "jorge" the sole spartan II from the reach game who was also came out of left field. I'm all for suprise spartan IIs, as they are my favorite class which also happens to be almost killed off...Appreciate any help! thanks night.
  4. Because they were genetically augmented before puberty - they really are more genderless than anything.
  5. Sticky detonator is so fun but frustrating when I screw it up - something I definitely want to get pro at. Sadly I'm almost at master and still don't think I'm deadly with it. DMR is my go-to weapon, boltshot is pretty fun too. Railgun is pretty amazing if used right.
  6. Totally agree, I've been a vehicle geared player since the original and out of all the vehicles, the warthog is still my favorite. TBH I was kind of disappointed with the gunner damage in Halo 4 - it seemed weakened from the earlier games. But irrelevant - the wheelman should definitely give additional points, driving is definitely as difficult or more so in certain situations as the gunner. We got banshees, tanks, EMPs, rockets, and everything else to dodge a few extra points wouldn't kill. I like the distraction addition, or perhaps additional medals. Though an extra 5 points a kill would help in the scheme of things.
  7. I thought about his personal hygiene the other week. He must smell terrible, or perhaps his suit cleans him. As for sleep, his suit could very well go immobile and he can "lay down" (while standing) and sleep there. As for finding time for sleep, It's possible in real life (so certainly with a spartan), to train your body to sleep for 20 minutes at a time several times a day to become rested. Your body adapts to the shortened schedule and enters REM state immediately. (REM being the state of sleep the body recharges in)
  8. As a long time halo fan, and reader of all things halo I would love to see this. I originally hoped to see it in halo 2, then perhaps in halo 3. The books explained the spartan's whereabouts, which make it impossible for them to appear so I was okay with that. Then in Reach, which I was ecstatic about because surely the spartan II's would be shown in this. Instead they introduce noble team which confused me as spartan III's weren't ever mentioned in the Reach novel. But I fell in love with the characters and the plot made sense in time. Eventually, I just decided that the games won't adapt to the books because most players don't read them. Introducing kelly, fred, and linda would probably confuse people. It would be pretty awesome though, I picture the next game revolving around the spartan 4's though...
  9. All the discrepancies with the Spartan II's gives me a headache. It's definitely gotten better, but ultimately I blame all the little graphic novels/anime that branched off from the books. Like she retired because "she wanted to start a family?", that goes against everything the canon suggests about spartans. So hopefully it's a ruse, if not it's a huge plot hole. On a side note, I always assumed spartans had zero sexuality. Spartan II's at least.
  10. I'm glad they altered their faces for this...spartans would totally not look like normal people after the augmentations. I don't know if this was intended, but they appear to have poreless skin, and Halsey describes one of the spartans in glasslands as having poreless skin, I think. You get super human abilities, and acne free skin, sweet deal.
