  1. The ending to reach was not happy but the objective was completed. I do not think the ending was bad from a story standpoint but rather a video game standpoint. so no one should review any videogames until an entire series comes out? a trilogy is only as strong as the parts that make it up. (i think halo 4 is good lol) 343 may use this sense of failure to strengthen victories in the other games. but it does not change the fact that the ending feels disappointing. (which is probably what 343 wants) That is 343's objective Not the players objective. When i kill covenant im not thinking "man im doing this to see how human the chief is" All in all i do like the game and its story but i think that this is the source of some of the negative attitudes towards the ending. (atleast the ones with no evidence that seem genuine)
  2. That offered no intelligent debate or anything of note whatsoever.
  3. First off I dont personally think the ending was bad from most objective standpoints (well written, good quality, and had me emotionally invested) The problem I see with it is the fact that its not the end to a movie. What do i Mean? The problem i think most fans of halo and the story have with the ending is that cortana dies (duh) but why? (besides the fact cortana is awesome and hawt) Because there are two main objectives in the game 1. Save cortana! 2. stop the didact. And at the end you're left not even knowing if you've accomplished either of them. mostly not knowing about the didact. I know there are lots of plot points that look like they were made to bring back cortana, but no gamer (halo fan or not) likes running through a game (especially on legendary) only to get to the end and boom doesnt matter that you busted ur ass, she's dead. Atleast for me it almost made the whole campaign seem for nothing yeah chief may have stopped the didact, but the mood is not focused on chief's victory in this but rather the loss of cortana and possibly that the didact is not even dead. Imo this will leave most players with a bad taste in their mouths. In all the halo games (dunno about odst cant remember much from the campaign.) An objective is clearly accomplished (even with the death of the main char in reach). But in halo 4 it feels like nothing was accomplished chief just woke up and couldnt do crap to help cortana. Even if stopping the didact was accomplished that almost seemed secondary to saving cortana. And again is not stressed in the ending. In essence when I beat the game It felt as if I had lost it.
  4. Yeah but... if i discriminate against every1 is it really discrimination?
  5. If you could provide proof i would be grateful.
  6. This topic is essentially nitpicking everything that isnt repeated to exact specifications from previous halo games into halo 4. yup no marine banter on every level. no magic warthog gunners. a game on a seven year old system might not have super epic detail on the roots of trees. 343 is trying to make a more mature (completely subjective do not freak out because you think some story points are not super elite mature) halo series in the campaign mode if you do not want this do not play it, but it is their decision to make, they own it. Imo they are trying to appease a more hardcore fanbase with the story and as a hardcore halo fan this pleases me but you will miss out on some story stuff if you dont read the books are talk to someone who did. I hear people complain omg no one makes hardcore games where you have to work for things. You have to be up to date and read about halo lore to get the most out of the story they're rewarding you for doing it with info. No game will ever be perfect and while presenting issues to the devs will make the next game better (343 is very good at listening to feedback) alot of these things are not objective and will not be adjusted because most people dont care that the 3 minute warthog segment mostly with no enemies had no gunner and you do not need a gunner to beat it easily, even on legendary. I know i did it.
  7. I meant im not sure either way i doubt he'll stop being a spartan tho
  8. They have layers! I see alot of chief is human comments, and while he is human he's a spartan. I did not think they made him too emotional in the game, aside from the end with cortana we was still pretty much chief with more lines. I'm just hoping they peel back one layer of his humanity at a time and don't drop us right into emotional wreck: the chief version. I'm confused by the ending where chief gets his armor taken off, Yes it very well could be for practical purposes but on the other hand 343 could be using this as a tool to imply chief's goin down a bad road at 100 miles per hour. Im not sure how 343 uses these kind of story telling devices yet. What do you think do want more emotional chief? maybe a breakdown and get back up? Or do you want it to be a slow process showing emotional hardships in the extreme situations and how he overcomes these?
  9. do they still have the reach spartan badonk?
  10. I bet the halo 5 legendary ending bonus will be *fade to black* Cortana: Chief?
  11. last time i was on 400k ish people were playing give or take also in an article on waypoint more people played h4 online on launch day than any other halo game so...yea
  12. what people fail to realize is that cod is just a copy of halo since halo CE revolutionized the console FPS and then halo 2 with its multiplayer. Yes it took a few things but thats how great games are made they take things and improve them, nothing is stolen from CoD without improvements except maybe sprint (which is a retarded thing to say is stolen people have been sprinting for hundreds of years...lol) and look at spartan ops something i think is truly a brilliant idea partially derived from spec ops and its waaay better than spec ops imo
  13. absolutely agree it needs to work faster im not sure if it needs greater distance but its only a tiny bit faster than if you ran and theres a delay so its pretty slow
  14. man that is some grey stuff right there
  15. millions of people disagree
  16. ridiculous expectations aside thatd be funny as hell
  17. id advise you go play the best mossy rock simulator then. 95% of this game holds up even at close range and is the best looking game on the xbox by far, so maybe u can make better graphics with 7 year hardware but i doubt it.
  18. well with no evidence or mention of it and the first week update still being free... id say ur opinion doesnt have much to stand on
  19. so... your complaining that staring closely at rocks and finding that they dont have bugs or moss is lack of detail? cuz im pretty sure spartans are detailed weps are detailed vehicles have detail.... buildings ect... ect..
  20. maybe itll get mentioned in spartan ops
  21. Not everyone reads all the materials bro. (i do /nerd) but not everyone i figured people who knew the lore would be happy to share it with other halo fans who havent read every last material.
  22. yes solo unlocked it for me make sure ur online the whole time tho
  23. because the commendation system is buggy if you press start and find the legendary commendation it will display which lvls are counted towards it. If there are some that are not completed you must repeat them online. this is the only way to get the armor that i know of -source: its what i had to do to get the armor
  24. I believe either the librarian or didact said that they were humans
