  1. Deal is because of the fact they have to structure a server system to hold many people, they can't start off with alot of gametypes, because that leaves alot of room for errors. They already said they will release updates every week. But, the one thing killing them ATM is the lack of forge made maps for races, etc. So IDK how much different gametypes will return immediately.
  2. Here is list of things you should know. 1. You apparantly never played Halo 4, or you are just pissed because you're no good. 2. this is not 343's official forums, go rant on waypoint. 3. 343 outdid Bungie in my opinion, and it in no way resembles CoD.
  3. This is not the 343 official forums. This is a 343 community fan-site. No-one from 343 browses these forums. EDIT: also if you have read ANYTHING, you would know that sounds used for the game were made as real as possible. The warthog has the sound effect that the equivalent would have in real life. You might have gone to school for it, but it isn't the quality that is bad, they used real sounds, and in real life sounds don't always mix.
  4. This is not the 343 official forums. You need to go to Halowaypoint, or contact 343 directly. This is a community fan-site.
  5. We actually don't know it for sure, last time I checked you were correct. BUT 343 always has stuff up their long sleeves.
  6. Well I have an interesting situation, and if it wasn't for my staggering pain threshold, me going to even get the game would not be happening. I was going to have a family member (mom) take me, but she had to go back home. I live at an apartment at my college, and she was visiting because I broke my elbow. So in order for me to get my copy before they sell it to someone else in two days, I will have to ride my bike to go get it. But in short I will be at the midnight release, because if I am going to have to go through pain, I might as well hit the midnight release.
  7. Yeah the living room, would be for the people who aren't zombies. Maybe like a pantry, lmao.
  8. You can pre-order at Gamestop, that I know of, and still get the bonuses. Odds are as long as you go and do it around that time, most retailers will give you the bonuses. The only reason you couldn't is if they have ran out of the game.
  9. See here is the deal, that has ALWAYS been a way to get banned. It will be interesting to see if this gets any enforcement behind it.
  10. Thing that has me most upset is the M$ marketing spoof on the specializations. It was an LE feature to have the specializations early, and now everyone gets them on the 30th if they play by the 20th. That along with the level caps that will probably be in play, means that LE people will probably get to us the specializations at the same time as other SE people get them. That for me is total BS.
  11. The Covenant actively boarded the pillar of Autumn to find the location of Earth, so they could stomp out the heretics (non-believers,humans).

This is a community forum, based off of fans of 343, not the official company forums. I would go to Halo waypoint and post there.
  13. Point is, nothing can and will be done for this. Anyway you clearly have internet or some form of it, just go grab a gold membership.
  14. There is still incentive, just not a ranked number. To me multi-player seemed awesome, way better than Reach's in the least. I'm think they possibly didn't add it in to reduce the bad-mouthery. Truthfully I don't see where the extra incentive comes from, I mean it's a digital number that means nothing to me outside of Halo, and even then I don't think I would care. I do feel sad for the respectful part of the competitive community that wanted it though, but I won't feel sad for ones that make demands. I see too many "MLG" players come in and post hateful rants, and I don't like that. Which is half the reason I don't tend to care anymore about being competitive. My advice, make a public polling petition on Waypoints forums, and try to get something together, but I would advise to keep it peaceful, the more respectful you are, the more likely "343" will listen and try to do something. M$ probly doesn't care.
  15. I like the armor fact, I was wondering if the HAZOP forest camo would be useable off the bat. Of course my Prime skin will be too, along with my BR skin, good enough for me since I will most likely be rocking SWAT anyway.
  16. There is a ranking system, its just not visible. From what I understand they just take your stats and match people up with you compared to those. It's a skill system, it just doesn't affect visible rank. Which works for most competitives, but there is those few that want a number, and they probly wont get it.
  17. I like how this thread discusses it, everyone has a right to complain, so I am not going to post my usual arguments. I'm happy this isn't some conversation where the "competitive" people are bashing "casual" players, me personally being a casual player I care more for fun and not a visible rank, because all a visible rank spawns is sh** talking, and general bad mouthing over a number that doesn't even matter in the real world. I find it funny most competitive people complain about getting put with noobs then when they get a system put in, they complain about not having a visible number. BUT that's my usual argument. As long as competitive people go about it the right way and dont blame it on other people I don't mind supporting the idea of a visible rank. It truthfully would not affect me in the slightest. So I signed the petition. For future reference I support the idea, but if a "competitive" player comes in and start talking bad about "casual" players. I will quickly put him down, its nothing against the competitive community, because I myself used to be competitive. it's just that whining and being a troll towards people who just want to play, is not the attitude I used to see in the MLG, and I personally want to see people start being more respectful. That's my opinion.
  18. Dude it's a DLC, all DLC requires a Gold Membership to download. This is not 343's official company forums, no one here will fix this, and ranting on here will only get you either banned, or people will come in here and stomp you out. Spartan Ops is meant to be a CO-OP or online experience, there will be no patch coming out to fix this. Also, don't spam the forums, I will report you, or someone else will get you. Coming on here and having a hateful rant won't fix anything
  19. There is little you can actually do to eliminate all of the lag, because it is a physical necessity. All t.v.'s will lag to some degree, the lag is noticeably less on an SD tv because it doesn't do alot of background video processing, but quality is crappy. With more quality comes more processing and more time to put it up to the screen, the lag usually isn't a humongous deal, because most of the lag occurs between the controller input and the action on the tv, not the consoles output to the tv.
  20. Yeah it is ironic considering CoD is just the same in terms of leveling. Point is we don't mind having both. What we do mind is having some "competitive" player coming in and saying every casual player doesn't matter, and that we are all "bad kids". I don't care if it's there off to the side.
  21. Point is, the competitive community needs to quit acting like they are the only ones who are going to play the game. The competitive community needs to get over itself, the point of being competitive used to be working with a game you wanted to be competitive in, not have a game structured around being competitive. You have all become too high-maintenance. If people leave because it's not structured around them, then fine. One part of the community can't come in and expect to have say-so over another part. The system supposedly have both, so what, it won't be "pure-skill" but it will have skill involved. If that ain't enough then cancel your pre-order because the progression system is already in the game, don't come in here acting like you can demand a pure-skill system, cuz the developers aren't gonna jump and run just for the competitive community. I'm tired of seeing it needs to have it, because most of the people who post that only have like 5 posts on this forum, the people who comment on it, largely don't care, like me. I am a true Halo fan, because I love the series itself, and won't hate it over little technicalities. I will play and enjoy Halo, while the competitive community will cry over something as simple as not getting their way. And as for the statement saying that losing the competitive community is too much, there are way more true Halo fans that will play the game than people who claim to be true Halo fans, but are truly only on the bandwagon. The competitive ones who left weren't fans, they were only in it as long as it suited them.
  22. I agree with this post, and as I said earlier on, OP you can't come in and demand your thoughts to be heard, and have others (the "casual" players) ignored. Also just because casual players like me don't want to play competitively all the time doesn't mean we are trash, in all actuality any person calling someone else trash because they don't bend to your ideals, really means that you, yourself are trash. Plus in the end 343 has already stated there will be some sort of skill system involved, but there will never be a "true-skill" system because that sort of system will always leave others out. If you don't like Halo because of that technicality then don't bother calling yourself a true Halo fan, or even a good player. If you were you will enjoy it regardless of these small issues. In the end no one cares if you leave, it's ultimately up to you. Halo 4 will be good, you will only ruin it for yourself by focusing on this.
  23. The Flood was a good invention in this story line, because unlike in other games, Halo invented these guys as a enemy to all. Some of the following may be considered spoilers to people having not read the Halo BOOKS (*BOOK SPOILERS*) You might not realize it, but if the future Halo games flow strictly to canon pointers, the Flood will be a very active variable in the games and storyline. The Flood were a creation by the predecessors to the Forerunners, called Precursors, and were created as either a "failsafe" or a weapon against the Forerunners, because the Precursors were afraid the Forerunners would win the war with them. That's were the term "I am the last Precursor" came from. It's weird because Humans were never as advanced as the Forerunners, but before humans were "devolved" they found a cure which caused the Flood to attack itself. Humans and Forerunners ultimately fought because of the Flood, and the Forerunners wiped themselves out because of the Flood as well. So they play an active part in the story, and should play a part in the future. Not only do they provide a "creep" factor into the game, but they are difficult to cope with, and having them get back up after having been "killed" was always something fresh to keep me on my toes.
  24. Well there is an argument that sums the answer up simply. Even if this is fake, to us it's real, and that's all that matters. What are we gonna do if we are digital anyway?
  25. This is a 343 fanbase, this is not the company's site.
