  1. You can convey vulnerability in a variety of different ways, Master Chief doesn't have to be knocked down like a dumb ragdoll. Also he attacked in a fashion that copies an Assassin's Creed trailer, this is Halo, not Assassin's Creed. I was surprised he didn't leap at the final Knight and stab it with an Energy Sword. It's a matter of personal opinion, but mine is right. edit: You can say any fight shows Chief's determination to overcome an enemy, even a one on one would show that. Why is this one so special? How is him getting knocked down a twist? I kinda guessed that was going to happen... since that's what happens when you go gung-ho with a shotgun into the fray. If he has no knowledge of an enemy, why would he be so reckless? Seems out of character. Not attacking you, just posing questions. This thread is more about the action scene at the end and the music and not so much the story elements at the beginning.
  2. Just a heads up, you only get the Mtn Dew / Dorito bonus if you have 1 code for each and that's it when you put it in (so you should get 8 matches,) I just got jipped out of 10 free matches.
  3. I'll admit, Chief jumping and attacking Promethean Knights was lame and uninteresting. Here's how it should have been imo. First off, this is the song I would have used. I would have actually used music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abjE9Qx0O60 Action starts at 3:02. The Chief is leading Marines in a battle against the Covenant. Bullets are flying everywhere, explosions are exploding like they should. Good voice actors screaming and shouting while Covenant say things in their Japanese language. Slow mo deaths everywhere, Covenant being shot in the head, Grunts dying, Marines dying. Chief taking excellent shots at the Covenant with his BR. Jackals deflecting shots and roaring. Elites shooting. Elites with swords charging and being killed. A high ranking Elite is devastating the Marines with a Carbine and plasma grenades and is the Chief's nemesis in the battle. They semi-dual during the battle, taking pot shots at each other. Marines firing rockets etc. Hunters being blown up. The UNSC is losing. This goes until 3:27. 3:27 orange bullets start flying in the Covenant ranks and they start falling like flies. 3:28 cut to a Knight teleporting in, 3:32 the orange face screams in a close up. Prometheans come into the battle from out of nowhere, using their teleport ability to teleport right into the fray, with crawlers running amok in the Covenant Ranks and Knights destroying, watchers flying overhead. The Covenant are demolished and disintegrated. 3:50 the high ranking Elite leading the Covenant is skewered and thrown like a rag doll to the ground. Chief and the Marines continue to shoot and begin to fall back. 3:52 all the Covenant lay dead and the Prometheans advance at what's left of the UNSC forces. Terrified reaction shots. Marines are being disintegrated left and right dramatically. Chief holds his ground. 4:00 Chief is kneeling behind a rock or something and grabs a shotgun from a nearby dead marine and pumps it. A Knight charges and lunges at chief, from 4:01 - 4:04 the camera swirls around the two of them as it charges and he braces himself while shouldering the shotgun, the camera goes directly in front of chief's shotgun looking down the barrel and is "shot" at 4:05, ending the trailer and the music. I mean come on now. I know that was a wall of text, but it's a sure lot more engaging than what actually happened. The symbolic shifting of enemies from the Elite to the Knight works with the theme of Halo 4 and the ending leaves people thinking woah what were those things that annihilated basically everything and only Chief could stand up to them. In fact I would have scrapped the whole scanning thing, to the general audience, what do those shots even register as. A weird orange alien thing is scanning the chief, yawn. Action hypes people more than mystery in a SHOOTING game. Get me in the director's seat coach I'm ready.
  4. Don't these two guys know that music is 70% of an entire presentation... there is no music to speak of at all... just generic drums at the end. It looked great but the direction is baffling.
  5. The action is never exciting in these trailers.
  6. I have 8 at the moment. http://www.dewxp.com...xp#/Main/Redeem Sound off!
  7. If you still aren't satisfied that they are big, then DLC will most likely contain a massive forge map where you can waste space. Forge art will cease to exist? What? I believe 343i wanted people to utilize play space better and more creatively. If you logically think about it, even the biggest maps in Forge World didn't even take up half or even a quarter (even a fifth jeez) of the possible space. With that said, that tiny segment of Forge World fits inside these new maps. Just because you don't have sprawling landscapes around you doesn't mean that the build space is small. No Halo map has taken up the entire Forge World play space and been good for a reason, Halo maps aren't supposed to be large Battlefield 3 size maps. I think you and your husband will be pleasantly surprised, and if not, wait for DLC. And I thought you guys were pro forgers, I'm sure you can make whatever you want to work work.
  8. In Halo 1, when Foehammer was shot down at the end, really emotional moment. I stopped my Warthog, got into the gunner seat and started shooting at the banshees while shouting nooooooooooooo In Halo 2, going underwater in that elevator thing. In Halo 3, fighting the two Scarabs at once. Halo ODST the bridge battle. Halo Reach the flying level. Didn't like Halo Wars. Halo 4 who knows
  9. The way I see it, the extra 40 dollars goes towards more great Halo games, in my eyes 343i have earned it from me. Even though the LE is no longer special in any way, and the marketers are scum, I don't see anything wrong with paying 40 more dollars for a great game that I know will be good, because I am relying on Halo 4 to be my only game for many many months to come. Disappointing yes, but in the end it's fine.
  10. Personally I don't care if Jun or the Arbiter are in Spartan Ops. Jun would have 0 impact since his character was dull and boring and he was just another damage sponge running around. Arbiter would just be there for nostalgia purposes and to shout things in his dinosaur voice and be another damage sponge.
  11. I hope fall damage is dumbed down a ton. There are no ridiculous high buildings in Halo 4 MM maps to jump off of. Dying from fall damage took me out of being a Spartan in Reach. Aerial battles that end in bailing also are unsatisfying as you splat on the ground and the wreckage falls on your retarded corpse, how about falling and surviving then dodging the wreckage..... I don't know it just seems more exciting that way in a game where we have aliens and super futuristic armor.
  12. I just hope the rifles are better and more fun to use than Reach's DMR... that thing is garbage and is so frustrating.
  13. Lyrics are somewhat clever, the beat is okay, really like the chorus, but the guy's delivery of the verses slumps into that cringe worthy video game music tribute realm that you just can't avoid.
  14. Just because a vehicle is stronger than another, doesn't determine which will fit into the sandbox better.
  15. Wish I had time to, just gonna play Reach multiplayer from time to time to keep loose.
  16. In a quantitatively fair fight, Hornet wins every time. A Falcon with an operable nose machine gun, and two manned machine gun / grenade launcher turrets still gets destroyed with one shot from a Spartan Laser, and there are 8 chances to be hit, so the odds are stacked enormously against the Falcon.
  17. A normal hornet (with strong missles that lock on and deadly machine guns) with two passengers with Spartan Lasers vs a Falcon with a front mounted gun for the driver and two grenade launcher turrets. Hornet wins no matter what, even if the hornet passengers didn't have such strong weapons, its lock on missles would tear through a falcon.
  18. Multiple falcons vs a hornet? Yeah the falcons would win, but on a 1v1 the falcon is doomed if the hornet has its full armament (not the avalanche version.)
  19. Just thought of two things I would have liked to see in Flood Mode: The announcer's voice has voice effects put on it so it sounds Flood-y and infected. Also the Flood interface not being so clean with those nice blue lines. Maybe in Halo 5. But most importantly, will Flood only be able to use their "swords?" Can we not have infected with needlers for example anymore? Is Flood mode completely replacing Infection so to speak?
  20. Like I've said in another topic, I doubt the Mammoth will be in War Games. Look at a picture of it, look at how closed and armored it is. The Elephant was very open. Because of these gameplays reason, I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  21. I highly doubt we'll be seeing the Mammoth on the last map. The Mammoth doesn't look like it's suited very well for good gameplay. Notice how open the Elephant was to boarding / shooting passengers etc.
  22. ...is the Promethean Pulse grenade animation. Does this still bug anyone else? It's the only thing that sticks out to me as bad, maybe it's just me. 1:39 - 1:41 It looks terrible when it explodes and when it goes up, like a blurry orange cloud. Hopefully it's good and not distracting while playing.
  23. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzJ_8v9cXwU&list=UUzGLSfWbq4CiqKFO9lU9HLg&index=1&feature=plcp 3:18 - 5:10
