  1. It’s quite an accomplishment to keep fans guessing after more than four games released in the same series, but 343 Industries is accomplishing the task. Halo 4 will be bringing plenty of changes and new features to both singleplayer and multiplayer, and today is a sign of just a few more. Thanks to images leaked online, we have our first look at two potential enemy types from Halo 4: the Watcher and the Crawler. Knowing what they’ll look like and be called is one thing, but understanding what this means for the overall plot is still unclear. The image in question features the back panel of one of the McFarlane line of toys being developed in tandem with the game itself. Aside from confirming that Master Chief, an Elite Zealot and an unnamed ‘Spartan Warrior’ would be characters featured in the game, the newly redesigned Covenant Grunt revealed last month was given the ‘Storm’ classification. But what has taken the lion’s share of the attention since the image made its way online is the tease of two new forthcoming characters – the Watcher and Crawler, and the first images of each. Predictably, the Crawler looks to be some type of four-legged, glowing alien predator that would be right at home in the Gears of War universe. The Watcher on the other hand is far more mysterious. Have a look at the images: The Crawler design is fairly straightforward, and at least initially looks to fit the mold of fast-moving-and-directly-attacking enemy type that all shooters apparently must have these days. Considering the fact that Halo distinguished itself based on enemy AI and squad intelligence, showing a wild animal as a possible enemy type may not result in much optimism from skeptics. Especially in 343′s first outing in the series. As for the Watcher, speculation can extend far beyond how the enemy will function in combat. The image depicts what looks to be a floating apparatus with what may be an alien creature piloting it, at least from this one photo. If the Watcher is an alien, it certainly doesn’t resemble any so far seen in the series to date. That makes sense given the brand new setting and environments of Halo 4, and some Forerunner style is visible in the design. For extremely loyal fans of all things Halo, though, the term Watcher is somewhat familiar. The Sentinel Watcher appeared as a Forerunner defense mechanism in the campaign of Halo Wars, tasked with controlling the Flood outbreak. The range of configurations shown in the above image for the Sentinel Watcher bears some resemblance to the leaked image, reinforced by its presence on a Forerunner shield world – just like the setting of Halo 4. The extended Halo universe lists numerous variants of Sentinels, but none of that accounts for the existence of the Crawler. It’s entirely possible that both characters are a new form of alien life that Master Chief will be encountering. Obviously the developers have kept plenty of details to themselves, especially when discussing how the setting and plot of the upcoming game will fit into the extensive timeline of the Halo series. But with Elite Zealots – those Covenant warriors most loyal to the Prophets, and most devout in their devotion – and new Forerunners on hand, the plot could range from an extension of the Holy War of the previous games to a brand new chapter for Master Chief and humanity. Hopefully this leak will encourage 343 to provide more details about at least some of the new enemy types, but expect far more information come E3 2012. Until then, what are your theories on the Watcher and Crawler?
  2. Okay......halo reach was amazing. I agree. But why do some people hate it? Here are the reasons. 1. There is no variety in Reach. In all the other halo games.. there is a great interchange of friends and foes. Only covenant in Reach. 2. its kinda horrible to die in the end.....and it makes you sad. 3. it did not have the same feel as halo
  3. guys.........this speculation is older than E3! a very old theory....
  4. welome to the forums!

  7. are they spartan 2 or 3.........more like a detective story?
  8. This story follows what happens to Cortana and the Chief after Halo 3. I have not read any other Halo 4 threads, so if any of my ideas sound like yours, then great minds think alike, I suppose. -The game starts with the Chief and Cortana floating towards the unknown planet that we saw in Halo 3. They enter the atmosphere and crash onto the surface. Throughout the game, you discover all the secrets behind its' creation. WHAT THE PLANET IS -The planet is a Forerunner built world. It was built along with the Halo rings and the Ark. Like the Ark, it is outside of the Milky Way galaxy, and is out of range of the Halo rings. The planet, while artificially built, is completely self-sustaining, having the ability to grow food, create oxygen, etc. All the necessities to sustain life. -When the Forerunner activated the Halo's, they left the galaxy en route to this newly built planet. The planet was meant to be a new start to the Forerunner civilization, a safe place that they could begin rebuilding and expanding on. -By some unknown means, some flood still remained and managed to find a way to board their ship(s), hiding out until the Forerunner reached their destination. -After the Forerunner made it to their new homeworld, they fell under a second attack. After their first battle with the flood, they were much more vulnerable and were easily overwhelmed. With the Halo's being out of range, and no other options, the Forerunner were overrun by the flood. HOW THE CHIEF ENDS UP ON THIS PLANET -The Ark has two portals, one leading to Earth, the other leading to this planet. The Halo's cannot be fired directly from the planet, so they have a portal leading to and from the Ark, in case they ever needed to fire them again. -Reading the Terminal on Halo, you found out that Mendicant Bias was talking to the Chief. Right before 117 activated Installation 04, Mendicant Bias states that he made a mistake turning against his creators and he wants them to know he has changed, and the Chief will be his example. When the newly re-built Installation 04 fired, it heavily damaged the Ark. Right before the portal collapsed, Mendicant Bias changed the coordinates from Earth to the Forerunner planet. Thus, the Chief and Cortana go through the portal as the portal switches to the Forerunner planet coordinates. WHAT THE GAME WILL BE ABOUT -The Chief and Cortana discover that the Forerunner planet is infested with flood, and they are actually the infected Forerunners. Because these flood are infected Forerunners, they are highly intelligent. Unlike previous forms of flood, they can think and work together without a central Gravemind. They can build, repair, modify and even invent new Forerunner technology. These flood present a fresh new challenge, as they are highly tactical in battle, using technology and outsmarting opponents in battle situations. Unlike the other games, these flood could be very formidable foes. Throughout the game, you will be battling the flood infested Forerunner and their technology. You will have to become resourceful, adapting to the new weapons and technology, as no UNSC or Covenant weapons or equipment will be on this planet. -*The original Forerunner technology knew what had happened to the Forerunner, and began to rebel against their infected creators. So throughout the game, the original Forerunner technology existing on the planet would aid you while battling the flood and their creations.* -The Chief and Cortana's main priorities are to get off the planet, and if possible, eradicate the local flood while doing so. They devise a plan to highjack a Forerunner ship and use its' slip-space capabilities to make it back home. -They also figure out a way to either eradicate the local flood, or destroy the Forerunner-built planet. (I have not thought of an interesting way for them to do either of these yet, so I'll keep thinking...) -The Chief and Cortana manage to steal a Forerunner ship and make it off the planet. The game ends with the flood (and possibly the planet) being destroyed, Cortana setting coordinates to Earth, and the ship jumping into slip-space. FINAL NOTES These are the basic plot points I could think of so far. I didn't want to get into too deep into a storyline, because a single scenario can go a million different ways, so instead of coming up with a whole storyline that can go a billion different ways, I decided to just come up with a few solid plot points that wouldn't change. I know a lot of people will think that a game with only flood as enemies will get boring, repetitive, etc. But these flood won't be anything like the flood from the other games. Thanks to the super intelligence of the Forerunner, they can be turned into a very formidable and dangerous foe, rivaling that of the covenant, maybe even worse. Also, this scenario lets developers be as creative as they want and completely change the Halo weapons, tossing out all the old weapons without having to give a single explanation. You're on a new planet, not a single human or covenant has ever been there, no UNSC or Covenant weapons will be there. It'll be completely new weapons, all Forerunner and whatever the flood may have invented. Imagine the kind of firepower the Forerunner would have! New locations, new weapons, new vehicles, new grenades, new enemies, this game could refresh the Halo franchise and add all new stuff to it, instead of recycling everything from game to game. What do you guys think? I'll update stuff as I think of it.
  9. Even as anxieties are raised regarding the latest version of Halo which is due for release in the holiday season of 2012, there were some big revelations from Microsoft regarding the new release, Halo 4. For one, the game is being converted into a live action web series. The series will feature stories about Master Chief and his rise from a cadet to the position of the commander of UNSC Infinity. The series ‘Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn’ would be produced by Microsoft and is expected to feature on the gaming site, Machinima. Halo is presently featured as a comic series and has an anime version as well. The game’s characters are also popular as toys and apparels with many of them considered as collectible items. The web series also paves way for the concept to be adapted to the silver screen. The series is expected to debut at the Comic Con which would be held in the month of July. Another leak about the game reveals the launch of a new gun as part of the new edition. Gamers would be able to try out the Rail Gun which is a compact-channel linear accelerator and has the ability to fire high-explosive rounds at impressive speeds. It would be used alongside the Marksman Rifle, Battle Rifle, Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle. Also, like the Call of Duty franchise, gamers would be able to pick weapons across various locations on the trail. 343 Industries is really upgrading the game to the needs of the modern player who prefer a continuous playing ground minus any stops! . found this here http://www.internationalreporter.com/News-13122/halo-4-more-thrill-in-store-for-the-fans.html hope it helps!
  10. KIRKLAND, Wash. -- "Wake up, Chief. I need you." Beginning with those words, spoken by the sexy, shimmering artificial intelligence Cortana to the emerald-armoured super-soldier called Master Chief, Halo 4 will mark the return of one of this generation's most iconic video game heroes. But even a guy as tough as the 26th-century cybernetic warrior Master Chief might be daunted by the expectations that are weighing on this game, launching Nov. 6 on the Xbox 360. With a new studio (led by a Canadian, no less) at the helm and a fan community that ranges from casual sci-fidilettantes to ferociously competitive online warriors, Halo 4 will be one of the most-scrutinized and most-played games of 2012. As if that wasn't enough pressure, Halo 4 aims to reboot the space opera shooter that fans have adored since 2001's Halo: Combat Evolved cemented the success of Microsoft's original Xbox console, and will be the latest game in a series that has sold in the neighbourhood of 40 million copies. But Halo 4 isn't a reboot in the Hollywood sense of the word, said Josh Holmes, creative director of Halo development studio 343 Industries. "Unlike Batman, we're not resetting the state of the universe, we're not starting the story over," said Holmes, who until 2008 headed Disney-owned and now-defunct Propaganda Games in Vancouver. "This is not the origin story of Master Chief. This is a very deliberate continuation of a story that's already in motion." During a recent sneak peek at 343 Industries in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland, Wash., we delved into the backstory of Halo 4, chatted with some of the 250 people who are making the game and went hands-on with its revamped online modes. (QMI Agency was the only Canadian media outlet invited to this advance look at Halo 4.) Halo 4 will be the first game developed by the Microsoftowned 343 Industries, which took over the Halo franchise from original series creators Bungie Studios. It will pick up directly after the events of 2007's Halo 3, which ended with Master Chief in a cryogenic sleep pod aboard a crippled starship, under the watchful eye of his faithful A.I. companion Cortana. From speeding up the game's action to expanding the emotional range of the characters to creating a weekly episodic online component to supplement the story, Holmes and company are making several carefully calculated changes to one of the most successful gaming properties of the last 10 years. But with Halo 4 intended to be the beginning of a new trilogy based on the continuing story of Master Chief, the vision is a long-term one. Frank O'Connor, 343 Industries' franchise development director, says Halo can -- and ideally will -- last 20 more years. "The technology will change, people's habits will change, we will kill off characters and resurrect others, and it won't be the exact vision that we have now," O'Connor said. "Our intent is to grow and nurture the franchise for as long as it makes sense."
  11. . Halo 4 Creative Director Josh Holmes took to a Game Informer podcast on Thursday night to answer fan questions about 343 Industries’ upcoming Xbox 360 blockbuster. He provided some answers on questions like Forge, dedicated servers and whether or not players will be able to create female Spartans. Holmes could not share specific details on Forge but yes, it will be back. It’s been an important part of the Halo community and is part of what defines Halo since its introduction in Halo 3. It is an important part of the game experience and something that will be continued to supported with new features and upgrades. Details for Forge will be revealed closer to launch. With the new loadout system, one fan was concerned that that would mean players could not pick up weapons anymore. However, Holmes confirmed that you can drop the weapons in your loadout to pickup other weapons on the map as has been standard in the series since the first game. Dual Wielding was removed early in development because it complicated the goal of customizeable loadouts and caused problems with balancing combat. Spartan Ops is a huge new addition to the game that will roll out five new story based co-op missions on a weekly basis for free after Halo 4 is launched in November. Details on how Spartan Ops will be rolled out on a weekly basis will be revealed later though. When you are creating your Spartan for Spartan Ops and multiplayer, you can choose a male of female character. Along with the weapon and equipment unlockables there will also be cosmetic unlockables that will “dramatically” change the look of your Spartan. Multiplayer bots will not be present. The daily and weekly challenges have been a popular feature in Halo: Reach. 343 Industries is still working on how or if this will return for Halo 4. More details will be announced later. Dedicated servers have been a popular requested feature for Halo games but there are no plans for them with Halo 4. 343 Industries says its netcode is “phenomenal” and adding dedicated servers would essentially be extra work at this point. 343 Industries is trying to use matchmaking and other techniques to try and create a level playing field in online matches. The new enemies for Halo 4 are still being held close to the chest by 343 Industries but Holmes says that they have some amazing experiences in store along with an epic story. It’s been a challenge to come up with a threat that’s even more dangerous and intriguing than the Flood. You can check out the full podcast with 343’s Josh Holmes over at Game Informer. found this here guys http://www.examiner.com/article/halo-4-questions-on-forge-dedicated-servers-and-female-spartans-answered hope it helps
  12. Hey there,to all the fans of halo reach. You might have played it on easy, normal, legendary or even mythic, but if you remember, there were often 2 banshees in the spire.I often wondered how to get one of them.A few months ago I went to halo nation to see exactly how cheap the plasma pistol was.In one of the corners, i read "Halo: Reach can it help against "soft" targets, otherwise it is primarily used to disable equipment/energy shielding. Also, because of the extreme temperatures released, a vehicle running on a hydrogen engine, or one that is lightly covered, can be damaged or disabled if the overcharged bolt hits it — in addition to the high temperatures, the electromagnetic bottle containing the plasma can produce an EMP which can disable many various electronic devices within range."I had a mad idea, almost at once.I used an overcharge shot at the banshee; and bang,I was in. It was one of the most memorable moment of my halo experience. That day i had destroyed about 28 wraiths and revenant:I had killed an innumerable amount of covenant forces in firefight; all using a weapon considered second rate.I had shifted from killing grunt, to destroying wraith, to burning gravity hammer brutes, using a weapon I would never touch before.Plasma pistol is now my signature weapon in reach.I hope I have altered the view of those who think this weapon as uncouth. J117 signing off.
  13. nice site man!!am i the 343 connection??
  14. 343 Industries revealed images of five Halo 4 weapons today. Four of these guns are returning from previous Halo games while the last one is completely new to the series. The assault rifle, battle rifle, DMR, and sniper rifle will all be appearing in Halo 4. The model numbers for these guns have changed, though, suggesting some slight differences. Maybe you can spot the changes in the images below. The tweaks to these guns probably won't be as exciting as the new railgun, though. "The ARC-920 Railgun is a compact-channel linear accelerator that fires a high-explosive round at incredible speed, delivering both kinetic and explosive force to both hard and soft targets alike," reads the railgun's description (via GameInformer). The ARC sounds like a portable version of the gauss cannon mounted on vehicles in Halo: Reach and other games. It has a lot of stopping power but a slow rate of fire. Sounds like a weapon players will be scrambling to grab in multiplayer. Pictures of the railgun and other weapons are below. No doubt 343 has a lot more weapons planned for the game than they've revealed here. The game won't be out until November, though, so they're passing themselves. found this here... http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Halo-4-Weapon-Schematic-Reveals-Railgun-42087.html please do tell me if it helped you

I have finished halo 3,reach and CEA campaign on legendary and mythic. I am new to moderators, posts and such.I hope someone explains all of this sites dynamic's. I have observed that many take this site very seriously. I hope I can live up o whatever expectation one may have for me. Thank you.
  17. The Halo 4 live action web series announced earlier this week is already filming, on the campus of Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada. Reader xxxblank just so happens to attend Simon Fraser University, and says the film crew has been transforming various parts of the grounds into something a little more futuristic. The university's official line on the "renovations" is as follows: The film is called Sleeper, the story of a young man in a futuristic military academy who struggles with his destiny as a soldier-and with an alien invasion. An adorable cover story, but the giant UNSC murals and Spartans carrying Halo rifles kind of give the game away. Seeing as the series' plot is about Master Chief "inspiring" a young cadet, guess this is the cadet's academy! found this on a site called kotaku.hope its useful.here is the link http://kotaku.com/5906858/first-look-at-the-set-of-the-halo-4-live-action-series
