All that matters...

Recommended Posts

Sorry to be a jerk with a new thread here, but I will buy a XB1 if this is confirmed, all I care about...

Can I play an COMPLETELY untouched version of Halo:CE on XBL? Not a single change to gameplay, and preferably with the original graphics?

And by completely untouched, I mean EXACTLY the same, no adding weapons, no changing weapon or the melee (the reason the first game was the best), even leaving in the issue where the ball/flag was picked up the second you touched it, resulting in strange oddball encounters.

I believe you can purchase Halo CE on the XBL Arcade, I know you can on the 360, because I currently have it, but I'm not sure about the Xbox One.

If you're referring to the Master Chief Collection, then you can expect the same experience as Halo CE Anniversary.

Yes, I am referring to the Master Chief Collection. They say we will be able to play classic Halo multiplayer, does that include playing the original Halo:CE multiplayer on XBL?

It'll be just like Halo CE Anniversary Edition. As far as I know, that means it will be the exact same if you switch to the original graphics. If you ever played Halo CE Anniversary's campaign, it will be the same.

As they explained it at E3, each game runs the exact same engine that is did for the original game. The Matchmaking however is broken up into playlists that contain more than one game, so to exclusively play on one game would be difficult to achieve in mm. However, if you wanted to play with friends is customs, you would get the same experience that you would have while playing Halo CE.

So yes, you would get the Halo:CE gameplay experience unaltered, but you would be getting other games in there as well.

However, the playlists are mixed and broken down differently than any game had it. You will not find the same playlists you would have found on the original game, or the same set of maps.

So same gameplay of each game, but differently broken down playlists.

I believe weapons act the same way as they did in each game as well, based off of the game play we saw at E3.

The Master Chief Collection will include Halo: CEA AND The ORIGINAL Halo CE multiplayer(probably with HD graphics) that means 3 shot pistol 60 round AR everything.

But in Halo CEA in the campaign you can switch between old/new graphics(same with Halo 2A) it is unknown if the multiplayer will let you do that but most likely not.

From what was said at E3 Halo CE multiplayer and Halo 2 Multiplayer WILL BE as it shipped years ago with the exception of 6 maps on halo 2 that will have been redone.  those maps will be as they were with the original game, and from what I understand the 6 maps will be in a playlist of their own. Also the Halo CE Multiplayer should be untouched except that it will be upscaled to 1080p and run at 60 fps and have dedicated servers for matchmaking.

From what I understand there will be dedicated play lists for each game in addition to the random playlists that includes all 4 games.  With Bravo and ghost in charge of the playlists, I'm hoping that they get it right but I'd rather not take any chances.  They should bring in the big dog Alex Seropian to consult on the Halo CE portion.

For me, a must have is a 2v2 team slayer play list that would be called 2v2 TS MLG or something to that effect which would contain the following maps and settings:

Kills to Win = 50
Death Bonus = Off
Kill Penalty = Off
Other Players On Radar = Off
Respawn Time = 5 Seconds
Suicide Penalty = 10 Seconds
Equipment = Generic

Maps in this playlist to vote on should be: Creek, Dere, HH, Chill Out, Priz, and Dammy

4v4 TS playlists can include the larger maps.
