I also want to know the armor in the Vidoc. Halo was not ditched for Steam Boat Pirates. Matter a fact, it wasn't ditched at all. They made the games they wanted and actually wanted to stop with Halo 3. Microsoft pushed for ODST and Reach simply because they are money hungry and there is tons of money that is made with Halo. Bungie didn't want to create 4 then because 343 had already been in development of it. Contract ended. That's all. They're ready to move on. They didn't even make Steam Boat Pirates.
