A way to get easy revenue (A thing that has be discussed time and time again)

Make a "Halo collection" for PC which has Halo (CE), Halo 2, Halo 3 (ODST), Halo Reach and possibly Halo 4.

The PC is an over-looked platform that most devs ignore because they want to cater to the console crowd because it is the platform that most small kids are on and will instantly buy it the day it comes out, The PC is a platform where gamers thoroughly look at game reviews before they buy it and see if their system specs can handle it. An easy way to get profit as the demand for a PC version of the latest halo games is astronomical because the halo series has be affirmed for quite a while and gamers know that most PCs now could easily play the halo games due to the fact that xbox(s) now have severely dated hard-ware compared to most fairly recent computers, A PC port would be a very profitable release of the games that would filter in revenue. Though devs tend to ignore it due to the fact it would take time and effort.

Can you understand what I am trying to say? The PC is a profitable platform that the devs have SEVERELY overlooked.

Who agrees that there should be a PC version of most of the latest halo games?

I think what keeps Microsoft from porting the newer Halo games to the PC is just because not everyone can get or has computers that would be able to run the newer Halo games like 4 and Reach. With a console it's easier because you can pay the 100 for the 4GB console and be good to go rather then having to spend 600+ on a decent computer that can run them.

Not really, If you compare an xbox's specs to a gaming computer you would pay £300 - £400 for today, The PC would probably still be better.

I have no drive to play this on a PC, so this wouldn't change my views or the majority of my friends that game either. I spent $1,400 on a PC almost 9 years ago and did the whole PC gaming thing, then left for console and never looked back. I can buy one system $300-$400 and never have to upgrade a thing for years. That's what I want in a gaming console.

Don't come back with, well you'll need to upgrade for better graphics, etc. Nope, I don't care what my game looks like, as long as it plays good. Ever since Halo started to worry about Graphics, the gameplay has gone down hill.

9 Years ago was the time where a new graphics-card that was 9000x better than the last one came out every other femto-second.

Now if you get the latest stuff for your computer, Windows 7, GTX 690, Chances are it will last you ages until you need to get a new one and will probably last the life-span of several consoles, And all the while the game will run faster (A flat 120 FPS, That is twice the speed the human eye can track things), Will look FAR better and will be-able to play all the games your heart desires.

People such as you under-estimate PCs because you never got proficiency in them and gave up because you didn't have the patience.

I am production line integration specialist, and I under-estimate PCs? I work with system that range from $400 to $4k on a daily basis. There is NO reason to push Halo to PC. At this point in time, Halo's failures might force it to a PC as XBOX = HALO. I expect to see Halo 5 release with "THE XBOX" <-- new Xbox, but even then I don't see it as a marketable game because how badly is has flopped.

If you work so closely in the PC field, qs you declare to then you know well that there are roughly just as many gamers out there that havent played anything past Halo 2, either because they hate consoles or cannot afford one. There is a huge market for Halo in the PC community. You all seem to forget that Halo was meant and developed for PC first. Also, Halo CE doubled the profit of the original title, and still today, is one of the top played games worldwide. Yet there is no market for it?

Who are you trying to convince? Us or you?

Personally Halo and Xbox go hand in hand and I for one like that, its the first xbox game i owned, it was the reason I bouht a 360 and no doubt when they release 5 it will be the reason I buy a next gen xbox.

So nothing against pc users but there is no pc gamer out there who could naot afford an xbox at its current price.

Want to play the game then get the console i was designed for..... It was designed for the xbox system and the controls for an xbox remote.

Now thats just my narrow minded opinion and it will make no odds either way to be honest but meh...

Wouldn't Microsoft lose money by putting halo on a PC platform? Considering that people buy the Xbox 360 just to play halo and almost everyone already have a PC of some sort, wouldn't that cause reduced sales in the Xbox 360 and the up-coming Xbox 720 or Durango? Since, profit would be lost in console sales and not much would be gained in PC sales from changing Halo to PC. People would use the PC instead of buying a whole new console and accessories that go with it. Also, by putting Halo on PC you run a higher risk of pirated versions of the games. Remember that 90% of all PC games in existence have been pirated. You don't know for sure if Halo would pick any revenue, even being the famed AAA game it is. Besides, you could just use an emulator to convert your Xbox or Xbox 360 game to the PC.

Halo is the only reason I would ever buy a XBox of any kind. I know I don't represent everyone but I think it is a common viewpoint. I am not so much of a Microsoft fanboy as I am a Halo fanboy, and the second they stop making it Xbox exclusive is the second I jump ship to Playstation. Xbox doesn't have too many exclusive titles that keep me interested like Halo, while PS3 has Infamous, God of War, Killzone, etc... And I prefer not to have to pay to play online.

Well that is a very good set of questions, and I will try my best to answer them clearly. When we first talk about console versus PC games in modding and piracy, they are all equal. You can find literally thousands of sites that host or track torrents for console games. The only problem betweent he two, is that modding a dvd-rom drive for the xbox is quick and easy, and guarantees Live access without any other foolery to the game content or disc. PC on the other hand, has DRM and other security checks that almost 100% of the time, disallow PC piraters to get online with the games.

That out of the way, I think everyone really does underestimate how many gamers out there refuse to buy into a single console because the developer refuses to publish a game on multiplatform. First hand I have talked to and documented how many Halo 2 PC and Halo 1 PC gamers out there, simply don't have an xbox or care to buy one for one single proprietary title. For that matter, how many gamers out there are forced to choose between a Microsoft, Nintendo or Sony product? Opening up Halo to all platforms would help Microsoft bridge a big gap in the console divide, and give other console gamers a good reason to gravitate towards them. IF and when the next Halo game hits PC, it will no doubt be a huge money maker for Microsoft. Imagine if you would, if Crytek had decided not to bring Crysis or Far Cry to consoles?

Also lets not get ahead of ourselves with consoles versus PC. Consoles are popular for young gamers, and gamers without their "own" families. I'm sure if you looked at the age group of 30 to 40 year old men and women, you would be surprised at how many actually use a console for anything media related over a PC. I'm smack dab in the middle of that crowd, and I would never use my console more than my PC for gaming. I like to sit in one spot and use a multitasking device to get my fix when I have time. I don't have the time to go to an Xbox, pop a disc in, then play stuck at a tv. I like to game, load up Xfire, load up the internet and listen to music while I game. If I was younger and had more time, I'm sure I would use my console for everything....the same way my 13 year old son does.

Surfice to say, it is the adults of families, that dictate how and when gaming money is spent. And in my opinion, anytime a parent can be offered a good alternative to gaming in the way of PC ports or releases, it helps. I mean c'mon...what I am supposed to do? Play along with Microsoft and buy like 3 consoles, just so everyone can play the same game, or play a different game when someone else is playing? People don't think about that too often. I would seriously have to spend $900 on just consoles, just so everyone in my house could play exclusive titles when "they" want to. PC....I have 3 PC's and 2 laptops in the house. No waiting....no sharing...just pure I want to game...I game.

Pretty sure 3 PC's and 2 laptops would cost more then 900 in consoles. If you go with Warrior's pricing of a PC that could run the new halo games then that's 900-1200 for the PCs and another 600-800 for the laptops. So in the end you spent more on the PCs then you would on consoles. Plus when games become better you have to upgrade RAM, graphics cards, get new OS's, get a bigger HDD to get more space. To get an xbox and say Halo 4 for say 3-4 people to all play you'd only spend 450-600. A lot cheaper then with PC's.

The laptops were for my kids. They cost roughly $250 each and was a christmas gift. Over the coarse of 10 years, I have spent roughly $700 upgrading my "3" main pc's. Each one right now, can handle Crysis 2 with "Hi-Res" textures pack that was made available a couple months ago, and both run smooth as butter at 32fps. In terms of power, I could likely run anything Microsoft could possibly throw at my PC's in tyerms of Halo for the next 5-6 years. The trick is to carefully pick your hardware and weigh overclocking options when you make a purchase. Not to mention waiting for the good deals on rebates or incentives.

Surfice to say, Blam! is far far behind the power and capability of Cryengine. In ten years, I spent less than the cost of two systems, plus I have access to a lot mroe than some silly xbox dashboard internet explorer or Live service. Like i tried to explain. Once you start to get older and look back on things like consoles...you start to think differently and make more financial sound decisions when it comes to longevity of hardware. But that's just me, I don't expect everyone to agree with me or see my point of view.

Consoles do have their place, and they can be usefull. But the PC market is starving for Microsoft game products. For a company who wants people to buy their OS's...they sure give pc buyers absoilutely no good resons in terms of games, as to why you would want to buy their product. They even at one point went so low as to lock us into Vista with Halo 2. Simply put, if Microsoft wants to become gaming king again with Halo, they need to go multiplatform.

So your argument is that the Xbox is cheaper than the pc's and laptops but reduces reliability, efficiency, and other forms of compatibility. The pc is more advanced than the xbox in every way but is more expensive. I will say that it is more likely that computer gamers spend much money yearly on their computers than console gamers. So, if you have the money buy the pc but if you don't it is fine to buy a console.

Xbox sales are led by only the games while the pc sales are led by multiple factors such as internet, programs, and games. The console must increase the sale of their games no matter what it takes. It comes down to if the reduce in Xbox sales is less, equivalent, or more than the pc's halo sales. If the reduce in xbox sales is not recovered through the sales of the halo for pc then there is no use to convert it to the pc. Also, as another factor, what would be the cost of putting halo on multiple platforms and would it amount to any significant sum?

Precisely what I was trying to say, Good job.

Also, Has anyone herd about the news of "Halo 1" "Halo 2" and "Halo 3" popping up in the steam registry?
