I dont believe cortana "Died". 343 left to many small hints... i think when cortana was plugged in to the didacts ship whe made copy of herself and made the copy save Master Chief...i think cortana stayed with the composer...i still dont think it was destroid...it probably was but the Forerunners probably built it to withstand that kind of a blast, obviously if they built a shelter to withstand the halo blast...i know it was a nukeliar mine but still...there has to be a way...and if she is alive with the composer she probably got to the point of metastabability or whaterver it is and was able to make herself human...and besides without cortana Master Chief would be a 7 foot tall sociopath...she is the only thing that makes him "sane". I just read a HALO book and i found out that there is more then just one Composer...this composer was truely destroid...sorry about my ranting of the composer was destroid...

I think she will become human...because there must have been a way that Cortana saved her...in HALO: First Strike (if im right) she was able to copy herself...so i think Cortana made a copy to save Chief and the original Cortana staid behind to save the composer... But thats what i think happend...

I would like to see Cortana make a comback...for all of the people that read the books in HALO: First Strike cortana found a way to make copys of herself...which means she probably made a copy of herself to save Mster Chief. And i would like to see forerunner weapons...not the Promethian weapons...And i would like Chief be able to use the "gifts" taht the Librarian gave him.

After johns little fit he than gets so tired of that fing manager of his and gets his favorite shot gun...he than walked up to him, hey im tired of you and your fing suit! Than he points his shotgun at his managers head and pulls the trigger. Finally...Im gonna save the human race again without Cortana. But...whos the enemy? Camerea slowly starts coming close to Johns helmet...i know, ill create another flood infeastation! But than relizes that he cant so he was sad but than he rememberd about the Didact! But inorder to get to the Didact he must have a space ship with slipstream space. So he stole the arbiters favorite ship and blamed it on some other guy and started another civile war between the Sangheili. He than killed the Didact and rememberd that the Librarian gave him powers...so John flew like super man into space with a bunch of boxes of cerial...To Be Continued...

you never know though...halo 5 will probably look like halo 4 but if you look at the teaser trailer it looks like they put alot of work into it...they may have done a better job with halo 5 this time...or not...but all i know is that its gonna have an awsome story line...
