I'll just in real quick to state one thing. "Fair" is not a term or concept that translates well into the real world either in gaming or not. Is it fair to force someone to start with a Battle Rifle, when they suck at aiming with it, and after years of practice, they can't use it? Or is fair, because the people who are good with it, get an advantage over the suckier people? Fair fundamentally means that everyone has the "EXACT" same chance when they start. Depending on some ones abilities with a certain weapon, you can't say it is fair. People who have an adept ability to use an Assault Rifle better in combat than a BR, will more than likely use that weapon and their instincts to outperform someone with a different weapon. Forcing them to use a starting weapon, and not giving said player an opportunity to use what they are comfortable with, isn't exactly fair either. Sports for that matter are another example of fairness. People are built differently and because of such, there is no sure "fair" competition. I know that's a bit off topic, but the logic behind it rings across different areas. Give two people the same shoes, it doesn't mean that their chance for balance or speed are the same. Give someone the same gun, it doesn't mean they both can fire it accurately. Fair is simply a perception of each individuals situation. Fair, implies people are exactly the same, with the same exact situation, circumstance and abilities. Creating a "fairer" gameplay situation is a better use of the term. Again, nothing will ever be fair, it's human nature and a fact of life.

LMAO. I'm totally tempted to make this happen! Vague references at best. I could claim again, Halo 6 for Fall of 2017. Does that mean my "insider" leaks are correct, or that they exist? No it doesn't. Show me names, not usernames hidden behind a 3rd party site. Show me contact emails for these "insiders" that magically never get caught by their parent company? Seriously.... all these leaks that get reported yet no one publically or officially gets fired? I seem to remember the same kind of claims being thrown around about CEA. Claims that stated that CE's multiplayer would be standalone. Again, everything is speculation with no concrete evidence to back it up.

There could be a myriad for reasons for this effecting you or Europe in general. Also before I forget to mention it, just because you use a connection that has soley the 360 using it, does not mean your connection will be stable. geographic location as well as other people in your geographic location dictate the stability as well. Your connection is one of many "pooled" connections being used by the ISP's lines and equipment. This is one of the biggest reasons why most company's have a dedicated line for their servers. Meaning, the line running directly to the company, is not shared by any other customer for said ISP.

That's it!!! That's the big reveal. The two are merging! All hail Nintendsoft! Can't wait for Super Halo Bros.....

I predict, Microsoft will be there, and something about Halo will be talked about! Which is probably the most general and actually correct prediction you can make.

Networking issues are not easy to fix my friend. I can see that it is quite frustrating for you, but you cannot blame it on "American Hosts". There is no way to 100% identify who has host, unless you use a dev kit or have found a way to manipulate or intercept packet data on your 360. It can be done, but that's another story for another day. You have to understand, that a networking model will never be 100% accurate or functional. There is simply just too much hardware and softwrare differentials all over the world to make anything function without lag or hiccups. Everyone likes to say that their side of the game isn't causing lag, but you most likely are. The Xbox 360 uses the most bandwidth of any other connected device in your house. So even if 1 or 2 people are using wi-fi or LAN connections in your house, it will cause an issue. Furthermore, there are about 6 different ports that should ideally be opened and forwarded to your console. NAT alone is not enough to allow uninterrupted and direct traffic to be outbound and inbound smoothly. Now this again, changes depending on your ISP provided and global location. Also take note that the Live service is hosted from Microsoft's Datacenters all over the world. The service takes the collective bandwidth speeds of the pool of players, and gives host to the player with the best overall connection. I'm not saying it's accurate, but ANYONES bandwidth or connection stability can change in an instant without warning. Unless you would really prefer to sit in a lobby with 11 or 15 other people, and have Live test everyone's connection for 10 minutes before the game starts, I don't see the issue. For myself, I don't have that much of an issue with the connection in Halo 4. If I lag, I am the one more than likely causing it, as I usually have a myriad of things running on my home network.

The site wasn't given or taken ownership by any company. GoDaddy is the owner of the domain, and it is set to expire in June 2014. If Ilovebees was going to be a main reference, perhaps the people using videos and pointing to it, should have done a little domain research? Aside from that, I can go around the internet myself, and pull all sorts of 3rd party links to say "Halo 6 is going to be VR immersion" and that halo 6 PC is coming. I can do this by the same methods as Halo 5follower or any other lame Youtuber. All it takes is pointing to links and selectively taking context out of articles and videos. I seem to recall the same thing about the XB1 dev kit argument. BUT, if you bother to read the article and direct quotes from Microsoft, they state clearly "THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOUR CONSOLE A DEV KIT". Again people, read into whatever lame half baked posts you want, but I reserve my optimism for when it is deserved, aka official Microsoft word.

Since you brought it up Self Destrucy, if memory serves correct, Unreal.Tournament was the first FPS to pretty much to contain everything we have now. Loadouts, Juggernaut, CTF, added abilities, etc. CoD was late to the party with loadouts multiplayer, and again iirc, Crysis was the first actual FPS to encorporate them they way we have them now. But I will agree that regressing backwards is not a good business choice for the franchise. As much as I hate the new multiplayer schema, it does have several admirable qualities. Going forward, you have to look forward, not to the past. Im a big enough man to admit that, and that I need to adjust to that.

If you want to play some Reach DLC im down. You could form a party of fourand go into it. My GT is B4M Twinreaper. If you wanna jump on Firefight, send me a pm and ill jump on Live.

I love bees is from halo 2 in 2004. The site was a marketing ploy initiated and commisioned by Microsoft to promote Halo 2. The site isn't owned by Microsoft, it is owned by 42 Entertainment iirc. Pointing to an almost 10 year old site that contains the same exact content in its root publication, that it did 10 years ago, is not proof of anything. Like I said, can you point to a site that shows proof of a H2A? Ilovebees is not that. You get an C- for effort though.

Xbox Fan, firstly keep your unintelligent mouth shut. I know exactly what I am talking about. Perhaps it is YOU, who shouod do some research about the people whom you think are ignorant, or do not know what they are talking about. My history with Halo and it's variant game engines is a long 13+ year history. I know what quite well how it works internally, as well as the tag/meta/compression schemas. Do me a favor and crawl back under the rock from which you came.

Link to an official domain owned by Miceosoft for something Halo 2 please?

I'm still a little lost on the whole "too many hints towards" Halo 2 Anniversary. Aside from one misquoted and misunderstood sarcastic answer from Mr Downes, where is this all inspiring notion that it's real or likely? What, leaked phony Walmart release dates, and toys? Seriously? That is the bunch of straws you are all gonna grasp at to back up the claim it's likely? Frankly, you should all be ashamed. After all the hooplah and talk about CEA, versus what we got, what makes you think that even if they did go through with it, that it would be everything we had previously, and not the same dressed up piece of crap.CEA was? Sorry for sounding like a ******, but it is a well known fact that Saber3d is the only existing engine similar enough to Blam! to run a modified and graphically enhanced version of Halo. Which is why it was done for CEA. Don't misunderstand me, I'm just as mystified and curious about what Microsoft is gonna present, but I don't care for and quite frankly down right hate, is ignorant people using half ass claims and "signs" to validate a point. Show me some real.actual proof that directly points to it, and I'll jump on board. Until then, please don't pass off half baked 2nd and 3rd party reports as legit proof and purpetuate it.

Not at all Chris, you offer the a perfectly logical and valid aspect from the opposite end of my spectrum. Your input helps others see things in a different way. In a way, without you and me having these types of debates, many people may not know about certain things. I see all this as nothing but positive stuff bro. And yeah, there are a lot of games out there that are good, but like you said, designed to be one sided and very unfair. Makes me wonder if the future of Halo could be something along the lines of what I am about to describe.... Halo is to many, a multiplayer experience first and foremost. It's pretty much a fact, that a majority or Halo players, don't buy the game for the campaign experience. Knowing this, why is it that we need to have a constant new multiplayer? Instead of releasing a new game in it's entirdy, why not create a standalone MM experience, designed from the ground up with nothing but basic "roots". A MM that can be tweaked, added onto and supported for the next 5-7 years? Start with a solid platform like that, and simply release add-on campaign. It can be campaign separate from each one, like Halo 5, then have Halo 6 or whatever. Just release the campaign on disc, and continue to have the titles use the same multiplayer, the same way they did with CEA. This would cut down development time as 343i would not need to redo the MM experience. They could just add weapons, characters, or whatever, and it could all be done without it effecting things outside the MM aspect. This would also allow the devs more time to work on the campaign, and come up with truly ground breaking stuff to add to Halo. Like we said before, if it isn't broken don't fix it.
-
The main reason you cannot play Spartan Ops is a really dumb one, once I tell you. For some reason, 343 felt it was a good idea to have the cinematics for it, be streamed directly from the servers themselves. So while the campaign has its cinematics rendered directly by the engi.e, SO depends hierarcally on the servers being reachable, aka Gold subscription. If their was a way to remove the dependencies in the map or bull them out in the map file, it might be possible to play the maps offline.

Damn nice speach from a fine MoM! Cheers mate! You have done me proud, I couldn't have made a finer TL;DR post. Just kidding man, it was good read. Probably only the second or third actual.MoM I actually read. Enjoy the pink, I know the bearer will do us all proud.

I get it man, and I'm all for changes that would make the game play more like Halo 2 and Halo 3. But I' m not sure the community is smart enough nor "big" enough to man up to most of the complaints stemming from their own weaknesses in matchmaking. For the most part, a lot of your arguments are solid and logical. Unfortunatly, a large portion of the Halo community is not. Most of their comments result from poor choices in combat,. or tactics and gameplay styles that don't carry through the entire franchise. It's easy to blame the game, and hard to blame yourself. Frankly, 99% of the community is far to convoluted and arrogant to ever look at themselves and lay the blame where it belongs.

I can't fully explain why aiming and connecting is harder with all error disabled. All I can do is say how it was hard to do so when I disabled these items in-game on halo 2 PC. Because there is no magnetism, no error and no auto-aim, it creates a pinpoint dot of accuracy on your shots. Even being a slight hair from your target, end up in the bullet looking like it grazes the target, but misses. Couple having all those items disabled, with having to jump around and strafe, it will make for a very difficult encounter. If you don't believe me, then by all means fire up Halo 2PC, and try playing campaign with all auto-aim, error, and magnetism disabled, and tell me how long it takes for you to complete the game on medium. I mean look, as long as Halo has been around, the weapons remained the same type of functionality and mechanics. Removing those mechanics not only goes against the "Core Gameplay" defense, but also greatly alters the experience we have gotten used to over the last almost 15 years. Completely removing the mechanics that give the weapons what we are used to, is in itself a move that will completely go against Halo's fundamental nature and alter the gameplay in the same way AA's and Loadouts did. If your gonna have a DMR or BR with no error, and pinpoint accuracy when shooting at any speed, then you indivertibly also have to increase the magnetism or adjust the way the projectile reacts for weapons that are not "0" error, or all else your just turning it into a match of "Who can pull the trigger faster" and no other weapon will be used but percision. I have always been a big believer of controlling your own fate. I would rather have the weapons stay the same, and pace myself and play "smart", rather than have a game be dumbed down or catered to me, so I can perform well. At this rate, we might as well just make all AI blind, you know, so that way people who cannot play campaign well, have a chance of doing well now. At the end of the day, you need to look past what YOU want, and what YOU think is best for the franchise. In terms of core mechanics that are consistent amongst the franchise, "If it aint broke, don't fix it". Just as you and this Silent guy hate it, I'm sure there are just as many players who wouldn't want to see these mechanics go away. Does that mean their opinion is less valid than your's? Because they are new to the franchise, that makes their opinions less credible? We all pay the same price to play the game, everyone has a valid opinion in that respect. Not saying all opinions are good, some are backed by things that aren't true, but you get the idea. Beofre I go and make this my last post to this thread, I have a simple question for you. If the DMR functioned exactly like the sniper rifle, would you have a problem with it? If the BR didn't have it's "z-up error" when firing, would you like it better?

I knew it!!! Shock is the same species as GSD!!!

So now your retracting everything you said? You stated that bloom itself was a mechanic that hurt gameplay, now your back peddling? Ok. And for the record, since day one of Reach, I have explained over and over again that bloom was simply a reticule function. If you really think there is a difference between spamming the trigger and pacing shots in the original teilogy, your dead wrong. Epic battles were the result of pacing and strafing, a lost art to the defunct now new generation of gamers. Everyone paces shots in CE instead of spamming. The only exception to that rule is the sniper rifle. And as for your random DMR statement, the error angles, deceleration time and vectors are clearly defined. Like I said before in the shoutbox with Total Mayh3m, when you master a weapon properly, you control the outcome of your battles. Its easy to blame the game when you lose, but it takes a real gamer to take blame for his poor actions or inability to perform better than his/her opponent. Again, in the original trilogy, I never heard 1/4 of the type of complaints we have now with the way the weapons work. If you ask me, sighting many complaints over 13+ years, I see one problem. Players cant adjust to slightly altered weapon performances. Your inability to master or adjust your gameplay to meet with newer tweaks is not the games fault it is yours. When I lose in Halo 4 and Reach, I blame myself for not playing enough, and adjusting myself to it.

The betrayal system itself is not what is failing the community here. the big problem, is gamers failing eachother. Back in the first trilogy, you didnt really have a problem with betrayals. Looking at the reason behind this logically, points to one big addition to the franchise that is the root cause. That root cause is "commendations". When Reach came out, we no longer had to worry about negative actions effecting our career in terms of levels. Hell, it pretty much became a socialist, democratic system in which everyone was awarded just for playing. This changed the playstyle and mentality of many players. For the first time, we were focused on commendation completion, and fullfilling them by any means, without a direct action or consequence for our going about it. Had Halo had a solid leveling system, to go along with the commendations, you wouldnt see a whole lot of betraying. Grifball is different though. If friendly fire was turned off, it would be far to easy to have teammates group hammer you, and send you flying at 90mph towards the goal. Being able to betray teammates in that gametype, help to keep a balance to it.

Saying farewell to our beloved friend, P1nknut
Twinreaper replied to Unease Peanut's topic in General Discussion
Still cant believe my P1nknut name suggestion stuck! Lmao. Long live a great MoM!!! -
Thanks Chris, as always it is good to hear posative and clear thought on the other side of the coin. Im just not sure how I personally feel about modifying the weapons. Im so used to techniques like leading, that for me, removing error would devistate my ability to play even mildly well. Although, at the same time I do see the point you make, and it is a valid one. Who knows, maybe the differential might not be that bad? All I can say is that I have removed these features on the weapons before in Halo 2, and it was extremely difficult to land a shot when engaging in combat even when your enemy was a dummy mock.AI standing completely still. I guess in the end we cant be sure exactly if the effects will be negative or posative. But you do make a good argument and I am always willing to hear and try it first hand before dismissing it.

Well before you try to reverse what you said, I took the liberty of screen capturing CE and Halo 2. You can see in video #1 in CE, that firing the pistol at varied speeds, yields quite different results. Results that show, accuracy is lost the faster and more consistently you pull the trigger. Is it just me, or does that look EXACTLY like how the DMR works?!? Nahhhh, cause I'm stupid remember.... I also fired the AR for you to, just to show you how pulling the trigger slower or faster increases, minimizes or increases your accuracy. I know, crazy **** right?!? I would have fired the sniper rifle to, just to show that depending on how quickly you pull off your shots, dictates how varied the accuracy is. And here in video #2, we have Halo 2. Firing the BR at varied speeds also yields a slight accuracy differential. I made sure to walk up to the wall on all the burst groups so you could see it. Yup, fires exactly the same way as it does in Halo 4, minus the whole "Z axis" recoil factor. Also please check the SMG and Magnum . As you can see again, firing at different speeds or consistently, yields results that look eerily quite similar to the whole bloom bull**** thing everyone wants to taught. Again, crazy **** I know! Again, I would have fired the Beam Rifle, Carbine and Sniper, but again, you get the idea. Now far be it from me to ever go out of my way to prove how a mechanic works, but it is quite clear that the only difference in the way the weapons work, is that silly little reticule doesn't expand to cover the area in which your shots will result to from pulling the trigger fast or slow in CE, Halo 2 and Halo 3. As I tried to explain earlier, but your simple closed mind was dead set on being right; that bloom is just the reticule expanding and contracting. That alone is just a HUD function, not a dictated weapon function. I can further prove this by making tweaks in halo 2 weapons for PC, to match the exact settings in Halo 4's weapon tags, and guess what? They will function identical minus the moving reticule. So again, state your case please?
