  1. Activision says they are making boatloads of money but declines to reveal how many copies have been sold... After spending the most money developing a game in the history of gaming and potentially getting egg on their face... And after admitting that most of the 500 million dollars is going towards "advertising campaigns" (for those who are naive, that means paying the media to say good things about your game)... Destiny would have had to sell between 15 and 16 million copies for Activision to break even on their half a billion dollar investment. The news that's been coming out seems really shady to me, primarily because the numbers don't seem to add up. Also, you have to consider that Activision makes a percentage of the profit, not the entirety of the profit. Most publishers make anywhere between 20% and 50% from the PROFITS of the sales. Which means for Activision to have made 632 million United States Dollars from sales so far... 632m/60 USD per unit = 10,533,333 and 1/3 units ASSUMING that Activision makes 50% (which is very unlikely), that means 632,000,000/30 USD per unit = 21,066,666 and 2/3 units Assuming the more likely scenario that Activision makes 20%, that means 632,000,000/12 USD per unit = 52,666,666 and 2/3 units In pre-orders and shelve populating. I think that Activision has no qualms about blowing smoke to the media to try to boost Destiny's popularity (and hopefully make their money back). EDIT: Also, for evidence of Activision buying good press, look no further than MetaCritic.

  3. Person A kind of likes Person C, really likes Person E, Person B is their best friend, and Person D they either have a crush on or hate.
  4. It seems that TheSilverCenturion and BeckoningZebra1 have something in common...

    1. BeckoningZebra1

      They're both Community Pmoderators?

  5. Person A has social anxiety issues. Person A somewhat enjoys the company of Person C, but is nervous without their "wingman", Person B. Person A either dislikes Person D, or is too nervous to speak to them with or without Person B.
  6. Well let's see. If Person A can communicate with Person C with Person B present but cannot do it very well I would say that Person A speaks a language that Person C has studied a little bit but isn't completely fluent in it. Person B acts as an interpreter. Person D, however, seems to not be able to understand the language that Person A speaks or the language that Person B interprets in very well. For instance: Person A speaks English fluently. Person B speaks English and French fluently. Person C speaks English at a standard rate but speaks fluent French. Person D speaks Russian and only speaks a little bit of English and may or may not speak a little bit of French. Or perhaps: Person A is deaf and Person B understands sign language fluently and is not deaf, but only speaks English. Person C understands a standard amount of sign language and can understand English fluently. Person D does not understand English very well and does not know very much sign language.
  7. I think that the PS3 and PS4 versions of Minecraft may stop seeing updates, if not get pulled all together. The updates for minecraft will also be faster, as they will have more funding from M$, and I think that Mojang will finally come out with their other games.
  8. They don't have anything to do with the servers anymore... However I would find it amusing if they kept the passwords and stuff and 343i never changed them.
  9. Fourth time I've answered this (in it's many variants), however: A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
  10. Hey there ladies and gents. The following is to update your understanding on where the moderating team stands with multiple user accounts. The reason it's not specifically listed in the rules is because it falls under the second line on the rules page. "Also note, the rules list is a warning to members of conduct that is not allowed. Not all of the rules are on the list. Some rules are "common sense" and should be known by anyone. If you feel as if it may not be allowed, don't do it." The reason this post is being put up is because we've found a couple of people who don't have enough common sense to realize this. Having multiple user accounts will result in the deactivation/deletion/ban of those secondary accounts. If it is discovered that you have multiple accounts, you will usually be PM'd by a moderator asking which account you would prefer to keep. If you do not respond, then generally we will get rid of the ones that it seems you don't use. Why, you ask? Simple. There is no beneficial reason to having multiple accounts. Here are some of the top reasons people create more than one accounts. 1. Ban evasion: Creating another user account to bypass a ban will result in a permanent ban from the forum. 2. Post Count Manipulation: Creating another user account to post on your topics so that you can respond to your own posts will result in a ban for both accounts. 3. Shout Count Manipulation: Creating another user account so that you can talk to yourself in the shoutbox will also result in a ban. 4. Locked Out of Original Account: The only way to be permanently locked out of your account is to have been dumb enough to both use a throwaway email address AND forget your password. Or you forgot your email password and didn't invest enough thought in it to be able to easily reset it's password. Which means it's entirely your fault that it happened. If this DOES happen to you and you decide to make another account, you must immediately contact the Site Moderator (currently RedStarRocket91) to get your account fixed. If you do not, your old account will be deactivated/deleted/banned. 5. Pretending You Have Friends: Creating alternate accounts to add them to your on-site friends list will not fool anyone (seriously, "Oh this guy has 50 friends... who don't have any posts or anything..."), and it will result in disciplinary action. It will also result in further difficulty in making ACTUAL friends. If you create any alternate user accounts, we will assume it was for one of the reasons above. TL;DR version: There is no good reason to create alternate user accounts and you do not have the right to do so. Any alternate user accounts found in the future will be destroyed.
