My character customization is constantly resetting between games, I lose all my loadouts, colors, rank, armor and my emblem and it shows me in full recruit as SR1. When I press start everything looks as it should but it doesn't work in game, The only fix is to log in and out. Anyways if it remains this way for much longer im quilting for good.

tbh the control scheme feels fine to me. I do play bumper jumper which has hardly been changed so I suppose that could have something to do with it. On the other hand I do feel that there should be a control scheme were both armor abilities and jump are off the main buttons (x y b a) as jetpack is a pain in the ass to use as bumper jumper(Its on X so you cant aim and shoot)

Im with ya, I dont even play customs in halo 4 because not only infection but the options overall are just not neraly as flexable as halo reach / 3's .

The custom game community got a huge slap to the face H4, if they don't patch in extra game options or modes then halo 4 will be dead in a few months and no one will care. Lots of game options = lots of different and fun game modes = the game stays fresh for longer = people play for longer. Though some things were done well, halo 4 is just moving towards the format of modern shooters and in my opinion was made to milk the franchise rather then satisfy the community. Hopefully 343 will prove me wrong and not fall flat like diablo 3.

Word, whoever was in charge of the flood and custom game options in general needs to get waterboarded and sent to africa.

This is the stupidest thing ive ever read. Mantis is not even that good(clunky, slow, hard to hit misslles/guns/ huge target, not that durable, etc). Frags if anything are underpowered, the lighting thing when leaving forge is not a bug. The ranged weapons are fine, if your going to use an AR stop standing in the open. Magnum is fine, the hit detection is the best its been yet, the game lag has nothing to do with the servers(343 can do little to fix it). The only thing I agree with on your list is to add more wargames, everything else I either disagree with or haven't experienced it. There are way bigger problems with H4 such as the lack of custom game options and gametypes as a whole or the fact that 50% of the time you do the custom assassination animations without trying and die as a result.

I agree the game is flawed but god damn your an idiot. Like he is right, the BR is the weakest semi auto matic and isint even that good, especially at a range. The fact that you cant even distinguish whats dominating you (Most people at the moment are using the DMR) makes both your post and you look retarded. Also this game has by far came the furthest in letting players who don't want to use the BR/DMR play regular playlists without being forced to use a weapon they dislike. In my honest opinion your a ****ty halo player and a noob who is blaming his own incompetence on a weapon that is not even that good. They could remove the br/dmr and all semi autos and you would still do bad and complain about something else like sprint or nades or something silly like that. Also as a side note in the majority of reach and h3 playlists you start with a BR/Dmr, so using those games as examples to prove your point is just upright stupid.

if your thinking of buying halo 4 for custom games and forge then don't do it. in flood weapons on the map are PERMANENTLY disabled meaning there is no way to change this. You also cant customize flood loadouts, they are set and impossible to change. Its also impossible to change the flood in any way shape or form, for example in halo 3 you could give them different weapons and such. This is not the case in halo 4, flood are set up to work one certain way and you can only make small tweaks such as dmg movement and shields. Pretty much the game modes are extremely stiff and were not made with custom game types in mind, and without that (In my opinion at least) there is no point to forge.

weapons dont spawn on the map in flood and whats even better is its greyed out so that you can never change it back. So basically 343 **** slapped anyone who ever enjoyed making a decent infection map.

Really though, Matchmaking can only entertain for so long and without custom games as a reliable back bone people will be back to other games in less then a month.

The other day I spent close to three hours making a flood map and was pretty happy with the results, so I load it up and go to make a corresponding gametype and thats when it hit me, I realized that they completely gutted the custom game options. In flood mode you cant have weapons on the map, I mean they literally went out of there way to disable it so that you can NEVER have weapons spawn in flood mode. So I continued to mess around and discovered not only is the option for weapons on map disabled, you cant even change the flood loadouts or set the flood to act as normal players. (Like make them not have the flood skin and have a custom set of weapons) For me and alot of other people this is a huge deal, they pretty much went out of there way to kill a large portion of the custom game modes and remove player freedom. 343 followed the CoD mentality in which the game modes are made specifically to be played one way with the player only being able to change small variables. If this is not hot fixed I feel like halo 4 wont live half as long as its predecessors and for alot of the forge and custom game community its a huge slap in the face.

343 slapped custom games together in a night. I seen interviews where they talked about how all the customization is still there yet it has considerably less customization then its 5 year old predecessor. Its a bigger deal then people think too, The games life (for me and my friends anyways) is gonna be considerably shorter then it would have been if customs gave you the freedom at least that the previous halo's had. I mean infection was originally the most versatile game mode in the fact that you could make so many unique game modes, But the way it was implemented makes it so that it can ONLY be played the way 343 intended. Not being able to set zombie loadouts or have weapons on the maps or even the fact that flood cant be substituted for regular players with there own loadouts/weapons makes a HUGE impact on the custom game scene and for alot of people upright ruined the game. This game was made for CoD fanboys and is focused on matchmaking and competition, Normally that's not necessarily a bad thing but for the diehard halo fans who spent hours in custom games, this is gonna be the shortest halo of them all.

Halo 4 plays similarly to CoD, thats a fact. Doesn't mean the game is bad, people saying its still halo are right and wrong, Yes its still halo. No it doesn't play like previous halo's. So much debate over it being like CoD for nothing, FPS's are changing and this is just the new direction, you don't see simple shooters like halo 2 and 3 anymore for a reason. This is coming from a diehard halo 1 2 and 3 fan who lost interest in reach and is having a blast in halo 4. Soon as you accept that shooters aren't made like they used to the sooner you can start having fun.

awesome post for an 11 year old, I agree with everything except the nade dmg. I think the nade alert thing they jacked from cod needs to be taken out of the game, makes nades to easy to avoid.

I dont understand how they can move forward with everything then take a huuuuge step back to halo 2 status in custom games. The game is good but I just cant make sense of how they left it so lacking. I guess 343 just doesn't have the same attention to detail that bungie has.

Ive hit a cutoff at SR24 and im no longer getting xp, is this normal? if so can someone explain the system to me.
