  1. Exactly that was the point I was getting at.......therefore I don't understand their weak argument to not having a visual rank.
  2. Agreed......."stopping boosting" is a HORRIBLE excuse to not show the rankings. It is apart of xbox live and human nature for there to be cheaters, they will always be there! (there are going to be boosters in this progression system too I guarantee it should they take this system out too?) That is fine by me if a "few" people cheat you can tell if certain people earned their ranks or not when you play them and IMO its not a common occurrence. We all know the ranking systems in the past were not PERFECT by any means but it gave some level of measurement at least to keep us striving to move up in the rankings.
  3. .....My jimmies feel rustled I just feel that is a big let down :/. Yes I am still going to buy the game and enjoy it but damn. The replay value for me has fallen significantly oh well maybe after I enjoy the game I will forget about the competitive ranking playlist I wanted.
  4. I myself preferred halo 2 and halo 3 over reach but it doesn't mean I want halo4 to be as "simple" or just like any of the games. This is halo 4 a completely different game and what they are implementing into this game looks promising (long as everything is well balanced obviously). I do hope they do come out with a ranked playlist myself (which I believe they will).
  5. Doesn't mean we don't want a ranking system now lol XD Winning a single game against random players is "nice" but its not like being recognized for you talents with a ranking playlist. The games are more competitive by nature because everyone is trying to increase their rank. In a progressive only ranking system it matters significantly less both in reality and psychologically whether you win or lose because you earn points either way and move up. In a ranking playlist you are more likely to be matched up against individuals with similar talent making games more fair and you are more likely to have teammates come in and communicate and want to try to win (unlike Reach in casual playlists where half way through the game half of either team is AFK or left the game already - especially if leaving ranked games impacts your rank negatively more then usual). There are plenty of casual playlists for everyone that wants them now why not have a separate ranking playlist for everyone else I don't see how one would want to argue against it (it is just more options for players to get advantage of).
  6. Primary: DMR Secondary: Pistol Grenade: Frag Armor Ability: Thruster Pack Tactical Package: Mobility Support Upgrade: Dexterity Look Sensitivity: 7-8 I don't see how you guys can play with such low sensitivity Id feel like I couldn't even aim. I also think it is easier to snipe when you can aim quicker (just my opinion obviously though) My Strategy = Get into the fights quick and lay down consistent fire (with my faster reload) I play extremely fast paced and will use the thruster pack to compliment my playstyle by getting in and out of situations a tad quicker. Also I will use the thruster pack to strafe you fellas with 1-2 sensitivity . I will be that annoying player with top shots fired everygame being all over the map (quickly with mobility and in ideal places to lay out mid-longer range shots with dmr would be ideal).
  7. Having both will the Progression system and the Ranking system would be ideal and 343 should be aware of that (as it is pretty obvious the majority of the consumers want to see the ranking playlist) and I am very confident they will have a Ranking system for us in the game. The Ranking system to me is essential to keep Halo playable it adds that incentive to work together and win. Also the game is so much more intense when you are actually playing for something, if it soley a progression system it barely matters if you win or lose so those close games are significantly less intense. I want to be the best and compete with the best I don't care about unlocking stuff as much and playing casual players that go afk for half the game to check their facebook status no fun in that at all.

    BPR

Might be a stupid questions but what does BPR stand for?
  9. Agree with a lot of these replies not much we can do.....just sucks having to deal with these type of people (just like everyday life). It doesn't happen TOO often though.
  10. Not a bad idea but when it comes down to the situations where the hologram will be most effective for you to get a jump on your opponent, that feature (imo) seems like it would not provide much more benefit if any.
  11. Just have both. Everyone is going to have different opinions (we have more casual players and more competitive players) but if you put in both you will make everyone happy.
  12. I completely agree with you OP. Hell I don't see why people would DISAGREE with impacing a true skill ranking system because there are so many other playlists for you more casual players. Us competitive players are just asking for that one true-skill ranking playlist that would make everyone happy.
