Hello members of 343 Industries Community Forum, never really spoke out through the entire website, but I can do this Lol. I am here to tell you about Our Fellow Staff Our Fellow Moderators And Our Fellow Admin. This forums staff work hard to keep this place in balance. They are not paid, or will they be in the future. The staff stood up to do this, and are never thanked enough, since it is always the same people liking, commenting, or just saying Thank You. There is so much going on behind the scenes that most of you do not know. The staff work there hardest, to see this forum grow! Twam brought this website up with his own money, and you gotta remember he isn't getting paid for running a website off his own money. Twam the Admin does so much to keep this website running, I myself do not even know in full extent what he does. But everybody should know what he is doing is hard work, and deserves a thanks. The Site Moderators, aren't just banning,promoting,demoting members there is allot more than that. They ban there own friends sometimes and that is rough. They get hundred of emails a day dealing with awards,problems,to talk, basically everything in the book. Also when they work so hard to bring something or some people in and it fails. They get not thank you for trying, but they still do there position. Some of the old staff went through allot, and people do not realize it. Newer staff might say it is easy, depending how it has been so far. Community Moderators go through posts and posts to find something wrong or spam Or anything a threat, or harmful to other users in this forum. They have to give manual awards, like the Facebook, YouTube, Twitter awards, and that gets very tiring I am sure. The staff go through allot, and it doesn't seem like it But they actually do and I will tell you what each one does. The Art Department gets loads of requests from, profile pictures to signatures to banners.They are not rewarded and they bought Photoshop,Gimp and all these other software. Do they get paid for buying a 40-80$ program than making signatures and profile pictures for free? No. So thank them every time, and do not overkill it with signatures. The news group goes through allot to, and if you didn't know, it is hard work. Finding news, writing the source, collecting information, and analyzing what you got before you publish. When I first became news I loved the position, it was my favorite thing to do, but no thanks from anybody. I would create 2-4 or maybe more articles a day , and no likes or comments, and even in the shout box you get blown off. I do not wanna sound like I am attacking anybody, but what I am trying to say is, the staff work incredibly hard to keep this website balanced. I would mention other staff groups, but they are inactive right now kinda. Here are some interviews I did over the week, and this is what some staff/ ex staff have to say. RedStarRocket91 As for my job on-site, for the most part I handle any big announcements on the site, as well as planning and organising Community Events. I also do a fair bit of general moderator stuff, like checking through reports, reading through the forums, and promoting topics of interest. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Director My last staff position was Community Moderator. It wasn't tough, not very. It just demanded a lot of time, something that I no longer have very much of. The toughest part of it was deciding whether or not someone deserved a ban or just a warning. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Total Mayh3m Being a moderator can fill you with joy, sadness, frustration, and at times regret. But it all is for the better good of the forum. You constantly have to go through every topic and every post to make sure that what is going into the forum is appropriate and not spam. It gets tiring and you get mentally tired of having to go through everything. You also have to look at all the reports and use your better judgement on what to do. The moderators now have it east compared to back when Halo 4 got released... and even before. We have filters now that prevent about 99% of spambots from getting through the forum, where before we didn't have that feature and had to pry the spambot accounts out. I remember stumbling across a thread where the last 10-12 posts were nothing but spambot posts... and not one got reported. It almost seemed like the spambots were talking to each other. Anyways... you also have keep an eye on the members and what they are doing. I've seen high profile members get banned because they tried to get around the rules, or decided to ignore the rules. There is no way around it. We have had members get banned from the forum... make a new account to sneak back in... get banned again... and so on and so fourth. I've seen staff members fall from grace before and get banned or leave the forum... but there are reasons behind it. I've seen a lot on the forum, it is not all pretty. One tough thing to do is having to moderate those that you consider friends on the forum. You don't want that responsibility.. but you have it and it is something you have to do. I had to, and believe me... it wasn't easy. You can not imagine how much planning and discussion goes behind the scenes to ensure that the forum runs smoothly and that there are things for everyone to do. It is not a walk in the park as we have to make sure that everyone is in agreement. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Spectral Jester He has told me not reveal his interview, but I will speak for him. Many newer members do not realize what he has done, and I just wanna say he was a Site Moderator who did allot for this website. I imagine being a mod now-a-days is "rough" I left due to my internet access at that time, which was very little. Currently the Xbox 360 version of World Of Tanks is still in Beta, and still in works. The entire point of moving the PC version of World Of Tanks to, the Xbox 360 is so far a success. I myself luckily got my hands on a World Of Tanks Beta code in the first 24 hours it was released as a Beta. I played it for a while, and when you first play it can be very hard to know how to shoot your shots. During the beginning of the first beta, they gave away tons of gold. I would say 500,000, and that is allot. So that was easy money you could transfer from gold to silver. Silver is the main currency in buying tanks,upgrades,packages,consumables, and Etc.... But they gave away all that gold, that it wasn't much of a challenge. In about 1 week I used all that gold to get a T1 Heavy Tank, and it was kinda fast, but it was like a hulk. It was like a bullet reflector, and that made the game so easier! During The first Beta Of World Of Tanks I Give The Game A Rating Of. 3 Star After the first beta, I came back on the game, and I had to re download everything. Which took a while, because of all these updates but it was "COMPLETELY" worth it. All my tanks were gone, but it didn't matter to me. I saw that they added so many more features. You could customize your tank, you could use your gold for silver,XP,and premium. And premium is when you buy it with gold and you get doubled the income you get from each game you play. They also added that you can buy tanks with gold. So I decided to start out with a light tank. Light tanks are more like spotters for artillery, and they were bullet magnets BUT fast!!!! I decided that rather use mediums, but the first 2 mediums you get for the American side isn't really effective against anything. Once I got a M3-Lee, everything changed for my thoughts on the medium category M3's were basically a big threat for lights,tank destroyers,mediums,artillery, and sometimes heavy. I continued with my awesome rad M3, until I got an T1 Heavy. Once I got into a game, with the T1 Heavy, everything was balanced now. It was no longer a hulk, it was more like the damage and speed went down allot. Which made this game, to be continually more fun!! Light Tanks- Light tanks are mainly beginning tanks, and are mainly spotters for artillery, to peg the other team. Medium Tanks- Some Mediums Tanks can be tough, while some others can be very weak. Mediums are mainly used in the main battle, fighting in the fronts. Heavy Tanks- Heavy's are your main battle tanks, each match needs a heavy or you are practically dead. The heavy's are mainly big bullet proof tanks, that can withstand basically anything. They are the main battle pushers within the game. Tank Destroyers- Tank Destroyers sound like a Class A battleship, but they actually are not. They have a incredibly strong attack level, but there health and armor is horrible. Destroyers mainly hide in the back where they can see everybody. Artillery- Artillery can be a big or small , and they are really effective against every tank in the game. They usually stay int he far back, out of the battle field, and once somebody spots a enemy, Artillery wipes them clean. Game Modes (Currently) Standard The goal is to capture the enemy flag/base or eliminate all enemy tanks within 15 minutes. If time expires it is a draw. 4J Studios has been keeping devoted Minecraft fans waiting for quite a while now. Ever since TU13′s release in early October, fans have been eagerly waiting to experience the new features that the next update holds. Although there is far more speculation floating around concerning release dates and features than actual confirmed information, here is what information 4J has given fans: The PS Vita version of Minecraft will be closer to the Xbox 360 edition rather that the Pocket Edition. The PS3 version will be released first, then all other consoles. Title Update 14 for Xbox 360 is put on hold until PS3, PS4, Xbox One, and PS Vita are released. DESTINY Destiny has graced the cover of GameInformer’s January issue, and as usual the press has picked its paper bones clean of news. See what’s what here. GameInformer unveiled its January cover last night, complete with new Destiny artwork. OXM has hoovered up the news crumbs, and explains that each of the game’s three classes – Hunter, Titan and Warlock – can equip the same guns, but that armour sets remain tethered to specific classes. Players can further tailor their class with a specific ‘focus.’ Focuses can include anything from weapon stat bonuses, the ability to double jump, a teleport move, new grenade types and a selection of special moves. For example, they covered the Titan’s ‘Nova Bomb’ focus back at gamescom when they interviewed Bungie. There’s also the Warlock’s ‘Heart of Fusion’ support focus and ‘Circle of Night’ attack skill, as well as the Titan’s ‘Fist of Havoc’ shockwave focus that’s basically an electrical DPS move. Setting include Old Russia on Earth, the Vex Citadel on Venus, the Moon and Mars. Across those environments you’ll encounter several alien enemies including, pirate warband the Fallen, the Hive – who OXM reckons have taken a leaf out of the Zerg’s style guide – robot force the Vex, industrial heavyweights the Cabal and man-made machine race the Exo. Halo 4’ multiplayer flaws and ‘Halo 5’ improvements discussed Brad Welch has made several comments in regards to the multiplayer mode in the Xbox 360 exclusive video game, “Halo 4.” According to a report from VG247 on Nov. 28, the design director admitted to some mistakes that were made to the online component of the fourth main installment while promising that improvements would be made to the next game in the series, which will presumably be called “Halo 5.” Brad Welch stated that the development team at 343 Industries “didn't service” multiplayer well in “Halo 4.” When one fan revealed that it was too easy to max out the progression system, the design director disclosed that he actually designed the structure. However, he had to pull out of working on that particular element as he needed major surgery at that time. He went on to apologized about the unbalanced DLC maps in addition to admitting that the development team may have been under time constraint (although he also stated that this is a common occurrence among game developers). Finally, Brad Welch promised that the aforementioned problems will be improved in the next entry of the series, reconfirming that the forthcoming title features 60 frames per second and dedicated server support in the process.
