  1. I can see this being bad, it definitely puts me off wanting an Xbox. Not because I use pre-owned games often (have maybe 3) but because I consider what I buy MINE to do what I want with it. If Microsoft did not want games to just be installed willy nilly on hard drives everywhere, why they hell are they making us do it in the first place? It's not all about hacking. It's more likely to be hacked on the HDD. Secondly I can see store's paying a levy of maybe $20 for pre-owned to MS to make the game more appealing for resale, store pays MS to get the new key or whatever, then store add $30 on top for themselves. Nice little money maker.
  2. Matchmaking lag is terrible, terrible. Instant respawn needs some work to make it more balanced. Map rotation could benefit from a bit more variation in the way it chooses maps. Bring back matchmaking options. Hard to repeat what has been said all through this thread but please listen.
  3. Hi guys and girls, I noticed when I tried to log on to the challenge that when I entered Australia in the required fields, no Australian states showed up but showed me US states. You DO NOT have to select any state, just leave the state part blank at select and register. Pretty daft but as of the posting there was no states and I've seen people posting on Twitter about it, so there you go. Enjoy!
  4. Oh god a game for the Kinect! AHAHAHAHAHA!!! A shooter too! AHAHAHAHAHAH! God this will be awful! :3
  5. I hope so but there were a couple of map packs that locked me out of all matchmaking until I paid and bought them. I still cannot fathom the mentality of console pricing when pc games are free to play (but if I had that much of an issue I would stop playing consoles online too)
  6. I've liked the whole match playing part of it, I've enjoyed it really. Finding a game with match making that's connection friendly is the rage maker for me. It's a new game, new issues, new bonuses. If this is the way they want it done, it's up to 343i. I'm not loving this as much as I did previous titles, but I had issues with them as well. The developer will likely listen to feedback, I'm quite surprised that they rushed out other play modes "due to overwhelming feedback". That should have been a no brainer on the part of 343i, but still they came to the table. Kudos to them. It's hard to go this far with one developer in a title then have it change hands and try to be fair about it. They have to make a game that not only keeps me and you, the old school fans happy, but they still need to continue to compete in a market for the new breed of gamer too.
  7. How many dollars am I going to have to fork out to play Halo 4 online again when a map pack comes out that I don't have? If Swat got one new map I did not have, but no other mode of play used that map I would still be locked out of online play unless I got that one map. Is this going to happen with 343i map packs, and if yes, why lock us out of all mp options if this comes to pass?
  8. Spartan ops is a nice idea but I'm not a real fan. I've played the first 3 chapters only really to see the video cut scenes. If they made the missions with a bit more interesting variety it would be great, so far I've found the whole process a tad boring and repetitive with little more than the satisfaction of having finished it and it's waves and waves of Prometheans. I'm holding out for the story but would have liked it to have been more involved in the missions and being able to select an OLD chapter to find a match for would have been nice too. Yeah thought that was obvious Raised from 7 years old to be a badass no nonsense Innie killing machine makes a Spartan 4 look like G.I Joes compared to a S2.
  9. I've read through all the posts that are in this thread and I agree with just about any point that anyone has made thus far. I have to say that I was looking forward to Halo 4 and wondering and hoping that 343i could pull it off, in some ways they did and did not. I have been a very long time Halo fan, ever since it was first supposed to be a PC, then MAC, finally a Xbox game. To say I love this series is pretty accurate, and I had likes and dis-likes with each title but generally very happy. WARNING THIS IS LONG! and potentially funny. SPOILERS!!! SO WHY I PLAY? (or why use bad Engleesh) This is not a bad game. It's not a overly good game either. It is enjoyable, it has lots of parts that are wonderful! It has terrible bits and plenty of average to sub-par too. 343 Industries, you had pulled together a rather clean first attempt at a solo project. You have given us plenty of the familiar, plenty of new twists on those as well as brand new memories. Do I see more exciting things to come from you? Yes, yes I do. Do I think that Halo 4 should have been your first game to make away from the Bungie yolk? Probably not, but that is a hard thing to say. At this point I don't know whether to love you or hate you. I don't think I can hate you. I'm not sure we can hate you. This effort, this potential wonderful work - so much attention to detail, so much expectation. These things are not easy to achieve or to balance out. Anyone who has made a game, written a book or posted a way too long review rant failure at criticism comedy on a forum knows that you can never get it all right for everyone. I think we all hope, maybe expect that your efforts to continue the wonderful Halo universe in your own light will grant you lessons from this game for the future titles. That we may play them and enjoy them even more. To love them as we did the past titles. Best of luck Halo guardians, I look forward to seeing where you take us next time. Also Multiplayer! What is up with that anyway!?
