New here so .... the covernants role in halo 4?

This is actually a fairly common question that's been answered before, but I'll go for it again here. The Covenant are spread out throughout the galaxy, and maybe even beyond. There are a couple of opinions as to why the Covenant are a part of Halo 4. Opinion 1 is that they are a part of the Covenant that haven't learned of the Brute/Elite deal, and still believe that the Prophets are correct. Opinion 2 (and is more likely, in my mind), is that they are a rogue group of elites that don't wish to follow the Arbiter in his ploy to have peace between the races, and just happen to stumble upon the Forward Unto Dawn and Chief.

We won't have a real answer until we play the game, though.

Sorry for reviving this thread if it is dead but all three major powers the Sangheili have have been shown to be at least tolerant of humans, all three have signed peace treaties.

Shipmaster from the return (who leads a fleet) - deferred to the Arbiters judgement

Servants - signed peace treaty in return for re-armament

Arbiter - "humans are noble" 'nuff said

the group of covenant on requiem have been confirmed to be a "splinter group". In this time period, the elites are on the verge of a civil war because some dont accept the humans as allies. So this is a group of covenant that hasnt accepted peace with humanity after the war

Wasn't the Civil War because a group wanted to treat the forerunner's as gods still while the Arbiter didn't. Then there was Jul who wanted to kill humans who tried to get the religious guys to follow his ideas also, but before he could get mad at them for trading with humans he got captured.

I guess the next book will shed some light on this.
