Microsoft's Arcade Next promotion continues over the next few weeks with Fable: Heroes and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. Lionhead's first post-Molyneux release is out on XBL tomorrow, while the long-awaited Minecraft hits next week. Both look pretty promising. Meanwhile, the Forza 4 Top Gear Car Pack arrives tomorrow, bringing a bunch of new cars with it. SSX's Mt. Eddie DLC also spins into view. You can either download the mountain itself, the character pack - which features familiar faces from the franchise's history, or a bundle of both. Next week there's a load of decent looking deals up for grabs on a variety of Ubisoft games. You can get 50 per cent off DLC for GRAW, GRAW 2, Splinter Cell Conviction, HAWX and EndWar. Plus, there's the usual smattering of avatar items and Games on Demand releases. Find the full list below, courtesy of Major Nelson. It's not listed on Major Nelson's site, but Awesomenauts is out tomorrow too, for 800MSP. . So complete 9 campaign missions on Heroic Want to do it the normal way and spend hours playing 9 campaign missions? Neither do I The easy way is this Load up Winter Contingency on Heroic Set to Free for all (This is important) Now play through the campaign mission, when you get to the last section kill the grunts that exit the room, then kill the Elite, now run into the room as normal and press the x button at the junction, Now the important bit the screen goes black, count to 2, and press away at the START button. as soon as it comes up with the menu, Save and Quit Now resume campaign mission and this loads up the summary page, and adds 1 to the count of completed missions, it will return you to the campaign menu, guess what you do now, resume campaign again, and again it takes you to the summary page and adds 1 to the completed count. rinse and repeat until challenge down. Easy 30,000cR.

Luke, Undead asked for the thread to be closed after he realised he was in the wrong, Theorix explained the situation, case closed. Forgive me I may be wrong, isn't Theorix the one who should be jumping down Undeads throat? Remind me where Art Department concerns you?

Community Awards - Trimming Them Down
Spectral Jester replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Announcements
compensate you? on that note i will bow out of the conversation until such times as it becomes more grounded. They are awards on a forum there for certain milestones, etc and are for fun nothing more. Its like removing WWII war medals and compensate me? If you have such an issue pm Twam. As this thread will now be closed ad its straying way off tpoic -
Community Awards - Trimming Them Down
Spectral Jester replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Announcements
Maybe? No seriously it is overkill, there were too many awards some were removed, they are for fun period! My answer in a nutshell -
Community Awards - Trimming Them Down
Spectral Jester replied to Spectral Jester's topic in Announcements
all 3 of those awards have been removed as they are not necessary. -
Community Awards - Trimming Them Down

so being a staff member isn't enough? Slight overkill there derp comparing WWII medals to fun awards on a forum -
Need some extra in-game credits? Then hop into Super Slayer because starting today and ending on Sunday, games played and completed within that playlist will present you with the chance to receive a 26,000-credit bonus <courtesy of bsangel>

Moving this now to the Annoucement Section

Okay just a quick heads up, I am currently in the process of removing some of the awards. For the simple reason there is way too many, and some of them are kind of the same thing. I know some of you (Azaxx) will be gutted. But the time it can take the moderating team to allocate these awards is very time consuming. So when you check your awards and there are some missing, dont panic, check the awards tab first, you'll probably see its no longer on the list. I do realise that this will upset some of you, so please keep your rants in pm to me, Ive got broad shoulders. Some of the awards will be replaced with others, some will disappear altogether Thanks for reading, and sorry once again Jester

we are on the same wavelength just going to add that exact title to his profile
-
thats it, its not much i know but just thought it was fitting. it stays an elite club, and hopefully i dont have to promote many people to it.

Evening All. Just to let you know, myself and Twam have created a Legendary Member group. This is not obtainable by promotion of number of posts. I will call it a Hall of Fame of members / Retired Staff. those who we can truly call Legends The first 2 members to be put into this category are Absolute Dog & Bob. Im sure you will agree that the title is fitting for the first 2 members. . They also get the Legendary Member award. There name is in Yellow as above, so they will stand out in the crowd, as legends should. Its a small way of honoring those that have done so much for this forum.

May Matchmaking Playlist Update It’s been said that April showers bring May flowers. Considering the Matchmaking Systems Team was so busy this month they didn't have time for daily body cleansing, they’d like to offer you a matchmaking playlist update in place of the more traditional botanical gift. The details of their aromatic bestowal are outlined below. • Firefight updated. The Firefight Arcade playlist was changed to Firefight, and new Firefight Arcade game types were added (with the original Firefight Arcade game types remaining intact). The new game types have been suffixed with NEP, which stands for "New Enemy Progression." As indicated by the acronym, you will see a more diverse enemy offering in all three types of waves–initial, main, and boss. Making a triumphant return to the same playlist are Limited game types, in both their original form and with a new enemy progression. Firefight Doubles was also updated, adding new enemy progressions alongside the original Firefight Doubles game types. I believe there are only three things left to say. And that would be bip, bap, and bam! • New 4v4 maps added to Arena, Super Slayer, and Team Slayer. We know you’ve been waiting for new 4v4 playspaces, and with the help of the Community Cartographers, we were able to scour multiple submissions and implement a handful of the highlights. The new community-created maps added to Arena, Super Slayer, and Team Slayer were Ellul, Imago, Temple, Midas, Unconquered, and Pulse. All six were added to Super Slayer and Team Slayer, while Imago and Pulse were added to Arena (as we found them to be a good fit for the symmetrical, competitive spaces found in that particular playlist). • Team Objective updated. We’re always crunching numbers and looking at statistics to determine how we can improve your matchmaking experience. Reorganizing voting options is one of the results of that regular data mining. To ensure you get a diverse offering of map and game type selections, we updated the Team Objective voting options to have Capture the Flag in the first slot, Oddball or KOTH in the second slot, and one of the other available game types (Territories, Stockpile, Assault, etc.) in the third slot. In addition to the voting reorganization, we’ve also implemented a credit stimulus based on win-scaling to spur the economy in this playlist. Basically, that’s a fancy way of saying victorious teams will receive double the normal win bonus. So cap those flags and arm those bombs already. Objective holders, I may or may not be looking at you…. • Speedflag updated to lower carrier speed. In Speedflag, we noticed a trend of defending teams unable to catch up with flag carriers. While I suggested military physical training exercises as the fix, we opted to instead lower the carrier speed. Consider your Spartan officially off the hook. For now, anyway. • ZB Slayer retired. While the Zero Bloom Slayer playlist is being retired (gasp!), those game types are not disappearing from matchmaking (phew). Hop into the Super Slayer playlist to keep them in your regular rotation. Keep in mind the MLG playlist currently features Zero Bloom game types exclusively as well. • Super Slayer voting options updated. Super Slayer voting options were updated to have DMRs in the first voting slot, standard Slayer in the second slot, and the remaining game types (including the aforementioned Zero Bloom variants) in the third slot. • User-created maps updated. Updated versions of Select and Synapse were added to matchmaking, and updated Heavies variants Rasu, Delta Facility, Asphalt, and Cragmire were incorporated into the Big Team Battle playlist. Look for these changes to go live on, near, or around next Tuesday

AD, you know my feelings on this, and I am still stunned. This is a sad day, the forum has lost THE MODERATOR!, but from my point of view II gained a friend. So long my friend, enjoy it, you deserved it, and we look forward to seeing you pop in from time to time. There will be a spare chair at the table for you always

Microsoft has struck a deal to introduce TV-style commercials to Xbox Live in an effort to further monetize the service. The commercials will be 15-30 seconds long and run within TV and video apps. The deal also confirms that new channels are coming to the US version of Xbox Live, including one from Manga Entertainment. Microsoft's general manager of Xbox Live Entertainment and Advertising, Ross Honey, said "With the growth of Xbox Live, advertisers no longer have to choose between digital and TV advertising - we're offering the impact of TV and the interactivity and addressability of digital in one platform." "As more and more industry leaders like ESPN work with us to help monetize their content on Xbox Live, TV media buyers win with the ability to extend their standard TV spots to this highly engaged consumer audience." Microsoft has recently seen a huge upswing in advertising cash from Xbox Live. Since 2010, the service has seen an increase of revenue of around 142 per cent. This has been no doubt bolstered by last year’s dashboard redesign and the increase in advertising space it provides. However, it has also caused ire from users who feel the dash has become less user-friendly as a result. News that users are to be force-fed TV-style commercials and adverts may well provoke further anger, as the service is already paid-for. <courtesy of Eurogamer>

Arcade Next continues this week with the arrival of the bloody and gory - and appropriately named - Bloodforge, which brings its own brand of pitch black hack 'n' slash to the Xbox Live Arcade. You can also get your hands on sci-fi shooter Deep Black: Episode 1 this week. There's also FIFA 12's UEFA Euro 2012 expansion, which adds all of the Euro 2012 licenses to the game, including kits, teams, players and stadia, as well as the new Expedition mode that enables you to take your dream team around Europe. You'll find new add-ons for Soul Calibur V too, some episodes for Asura's Wrath and more. And to celebrate the NBA playoffs, there's discounts on NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and other NBA stuff. Modern Warfare 3 also gets a one week discount for Games on Demand, going down to 3200 Microsoft Points [thanks to Xero Shinobi for the tip], which isn't too shabby. Finally, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record hits Games on Demand, and demos of both Ninja Gaiden 3 and Dragon's Dogma hit Xbox Live, rounding out a pretty decent week.
