  1. I don't see much future for handhelds like PS Vita or Nintendo's DS family. If you have an Android or iOS device, you can download games in addition to the other functionality you get from the mobile device. I think gaming on smartphones, tablets and similar mobile devices will kill dedicated handehled systems like PS Vita in the not too distant future, so I'd stick with whatever mobile devices you've got for gaming on the go.
  2. In the unlikely event you haven't heard of this, it was an April Fool's Day gag in the form of a video promoting a cross-over between Sega Bass Fishing and House of the Dead. The video showed undead fish jumping out of the water and people shooting at them. My question is this. If this game were actually made, would you want to play it?
  3. Here's an experiment to try. Find a F2P game you haven't sign-up for, any game you choose, play it without using any real world currency and then see how far you can advance and how long it takes to advance. You'll probably be able to advance well enough at first, but if you don't use your credit card to buy gold or whatever is needed to build or craft comething you'll hit a wall and the pace of the game will move like the slug monster from Monster's University who didn't want to be late for class.
  4. Create your own Darkwing Duck line. Here's how: Just follow this format: 'I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am the (put your line in here). I am Darkwing Duck!' Here's one to start with: 'I am the terror that flaps in the night. I am the achievement you cannot unlock. I am Darkwing Duck!'
  5. May as well put my 2 cents worth in: Console I miss the most: Saturn, mainly for Sakura Taisen Most unused potential: PS 3. It's more powerful than its rivals and it's more technologically advanced. It should have been the dominant console. Console I wish I'd gotten: Dreamcast Console I wish lasted longer: Dreamcast Most disappointing console: 3DO. Yes, now you can tell your friends you came across someone who used to own a 3DO.
  6. I'm a Godzilla fan! I've been watching the adventures of the big guy for as long as I can remember. I've got some of the movies on DVD and the first one on Blu-Ray. I'm a stickler for seeing movies in their original language (Japanese in the case of the Godzilla movies) so I only have the ones that include the original Japanese dialogue, and the performances are better. The first Japanese Gojira has scenes that were taken out of the US edit and those scenes made the movie more suspenseful, plus the scenes with Raymond Burr were obviously tacked on.
  7. The catagories are as follows: Console you miss the most Console with the most unsued potential Console you wish you had gotten Console you wish lasted longer Most disappointing console
  8. SG-1000 is indeed the correct answer, just check the link Jester provided. Sega's most successful console by far was the Genesis (called Mega Drive in Japan). I used to have a Genesis (I even had the Sega CD) and I later had a Saturn. Saturn had some good games, but most of those were not released in the US (i.e Sakura Taisen and the arcade perfect Saturn version of X-Men vs. Street Fighter). I never had a Dreamcast, but I did download Sonic Adventure from Xbox Live.
  9. Of course I know the answer, this is a trivia question. You ask such a question to see who else knows the answer.
  10. What was the name of Sega's first console?
  11. Sega does indeed make games other than Sonic, but Sonic is their flagship character. I used to own a Genesis, so I remember the days when Sega was one of the top developers around. Yes, Sega has made some quality games in recent years, Valkyria Chronicles is an awesome RPG, but the number of quality games from Sega is not what I would like it to be. I don't see Sega being bought out in the near future, but unless they turn things around they'll probably be bought out by somebody. Probably not Disney, but if that did happen we'd no doubt see Sonic at Disney parks (maybe even a Sonic ride).
  12. My intent is not to start any rumors, I don't really see Disney aquiring Sega. This is just hypothetical. Sega is not what they used to be and, a few great games not withstanding, they seem to be on their way out. Would Disney be a good match for the blue blur, or do you think he'd fit in better with Nintendo or Namco Bandai or some other game company?
  13. Marvel vs. Capcom and Disney Infinity. MvC could have new characters and levels as DLC. There are so many from both universes who would be cool in the game but are not in MvC 3 or Ultimate MvC 3. From the Marvel side, more X-Men could be included or characters like Black Widow, Blade and Daredevil could be downloaded. From the Capcom side, Leon Kennedy, Mega-Man, Cammy, Sakura or some of the Rival Schools characters could be made available. I still wonder why they haven't done that. As for Disney Infinity, new playsets could be created using DLC. For example, a TRON playset could be made and that content will download when the player puts the piece on the power base, the cost of the download could be included in the price of the playset. This could also be done for more power-up discs or new figures.
  14. That would be great for multi-player. Give players the choice between Spartan, Elite or Brute in multi-player campaigns.
  15. I don't have any of the Nintendo systems, but I've noticed that a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog games that are on Nintendo systems exclusively (i.e. Sonic Lost World and also Sonic appearing in the next Smash Bros.) So I am wondering if Sonic team and Sonic himself will move to the Nintendo fold at some point or if Nintendo will acquire SEGA altogether. Any thoughts?
  16. I was not aware of a Pacific Rim game. In place of that, I choose Yojimbo. If the Pacific Rim game is that bad, it is unfortunate because a great game could be made out of that concept.
  17. Think of two movies that you think would be good games and two movies that would not, the only rule is these movies can't have already been made into games. Here are my choices: Movies that would make for good games: Pacific Rim Avengers Movies that would not make for good games: Driving Miss Daisy Raising Arizona
  18. Just checked it out. It looks like they based it on the 2600 game 'Adventure'. Strange to see the Chief taken down by just one shot.
  19. You ever draw the Master Chief with a dinosaur?
  20. You'd have a stick figure Chief running around the screen making "vut-vut-vut" noises and "ploosh" sounds when he shoots at a stick figure covenant. the vehicles would look like a piece of pizza that had been dropped on the floor and you'd hear "vrun-vrun-vrun" as they moved across the screen. I think we can all be thankful this never happened.
  21. Just out of curiosity, would you rather have Halo weapons while playing Mass Effect or Mass Effect weapons while playing Halo?
  22. It reads something like: "From the creators of Halo and the company that brought you Call of Duty' It should read: 'From the creators of Halo and the company that brought you Call of Duty, Call of Duty, Call of Duty and Call of Duty.'
  23. Halo+Mass Effect= Halo Effect Forza+Plants vs. Zombies= Plants vs. Forzombies Kingdom Hearts + Disney Infinity + Kingdom Infinity Sonic the Hedgehog + Mortal Kombat = Sonik Kombat
  24. I wouldn't mind seeing a Halo/Dead Rising crossover. I think it would be cool to see the Chief take down hordes of zombies. I'd also like to see Marvel vs. Capcom X Tekken. Imagine Chun-Li and Wolverine against Anna Williams and Trish.
