  1. I'm REALLY torn on this, especially because I wanted to be one of those people who is playing from Day 1. I'm not even sure of the current state of the XB1 after all that was changed after the disastrous release. Also, I just got my 360 about two years ago. I have so much hope for Halo 5, it's a shame that I probably won't end up getting it.
  2. Cat and Mouse is going to make a comeback!
  3. I have an Xbox 360 and a Macbook Pro (spring '11 model). I was wondering what would be the best way to record my screen based on my situation so I can make Halo videos for my YouTube channel. I have checked my TV and it has no A/V Out port ( ). I would prefer to record in 720p HD or better. I have looked at a few capture cards but they only support Windows.
  4. I'd rather not have Dual Wield in Halo 5.
  5. To summarize, what I really want to see out of Halo 5's Forge is a more dynamic Forge. Dynamic Environments Previously, the environment in which we Forged in was static. What if we could change that? The ability to change time of day, water level, etc. would allow for a more dynamic environment to Forge in. Skinned Objects Each structure piece - and some non-structure pieces - could have several UNSC, Covenant, and Forerunner skins that could be selected. That way you could choose a simple skin for a floor, a more complicated one for a wall, or a complication for an an aesthetic structure. This would also allow for Covenant and Forerunner themed maps, something that was not easily done in Halo 4. Smaller Pieces and Groups Traditionally, we had several prebuilt buildings to work with in Forge. These buildings were good, but also somewhat restricive. What if Forgers could design their own buildings using basic building pieces and small, decorative pieces to bring it all together? Then, you could group all these parts together so that they move as one, and save the group to be used again and even upload it to your Fileshare. Forge World? A lot of people want to return of Reach's Forge World. Although Forge World was great, I don't think that having one main Forging map is the best approach. Like in Halo 4, there should be several different Forge maps, each with its own environment. A lot of people didn't like this, but I think that if it was tweaked correctly it would be better than the boring and bland Forge World. Basic is Better Forge canvasses contain a lot of rocks, trees, and other natural elements. In Halo 5, I think that they should strip all of the natural scenery and just give a basic and blank canvass. Then, Forgers can make their own unique environment. Natural Objects Forge Island had trees, which was a HUGE addition to Forge, because now you could create your own vegetation. In Halo 5, Forge should include lots of trees, bushes, rocks, etc. to create a unique environment and set your map apart. Other A custom powerup Ordinance drop More visual effects, and add visual effects to trait zones Buttons, levers, switches, and other activators A better system for linear style maps More Gadgets! Coordinate increments decreased, precision editing (Not technically Forge) A gametype category for non-traditional (miningames) games (like Haloball in Reach) 343, please try to add some of these! Community, please tell me what you think (and please don't hate)!
  6. Really? My fileshare works just fine. I'd check your network connections if I were you.
  7. The files are in my fileshare with the names Outpost 713 0, 1, and 2. And fileshare is up, but there is no web interface.
  8. Things that SHOULDN'T be in Halo 5: - Dual wielding. That combat mechanic really didn't do much for the gameplay, and any GOOD weapon that you dual-wielded caused you to look straight up like a moron. - Flood. That storyline is gone. It's over. That's why we have it in multiplayer. - Throw things in just because they were good in another Halo. It's the same as Flood. They need to follow a storyline! Things that SHOULD be in Halo 5: - Multiple Forge worlds. Most people hate Halo 4 Forge worlds, but I personally love them. Instead of just forging in one bland, boring stone and grass environment, we can access three unique environments - Better Pulse grenades. Honestly, Pulse grenades can't kill a dang thing in War Games. Perhaps they could add an EMP to them, to make them anti-vehicle? That would be a cool mechanic. - Better ranking system. Compared to the ranking system in Halo: Reach, the Halo 4 ranking system is amazing. Still, it needs to be more on personal skill, and a little less on victories and play-time. - More Forge pieces. Some ideas are the explosives crates for covenant and forerunner in the campaign, weapon crates (the ones that are lined with weapons), and perhaps even a few species-specific pieces. Also, Forge could definitely use some natural pieces (trees, for example) - Better Co-Op. Really? Double Master Chief? What if the first player was John 117 and the rest were unidentified Spartan-IVs? - Another flying vehicle - A promethean detachable turred. This turret could have a slower rate of fire than the other turrets, but is more accurate and has a scope - More gametype options. Things such as custom flood loadouts, naming loadouts (not just presets) and more customizations would make custom gametypes more immersive. And just maybe... - Covenant allies ARE possible, since my understanding is that the section of the Covenant that you fight in Halo 4 broke off of the rest of the Covenant
  9. I just finished a forge map in Halo 4 and want to get some screenshots. I'd get them myself, but the TV doesn't have an AV-Out port and I don't want to spend $$$ on a recording device. Can anyone get me a version of my screenshots to put online if I put them in my fileshare?
  10. Gash Gamertag: Ryguyrules147 Gametype: Team Slayers, CTF, King of the Hill This map is a remake of Halo Reach's "Hemorrhage" map, but with several additions/changes. Gash is placed on "Ravine" and is somewhat symmetrical. There are two bases on the map, one for red and one for blue. Each base contains a Ghost, two Mongooses, two Warthogs, and a Mantis. The Mantis does not spawn at the beginning of a game, and has a two minute cooldown. The battlefield between the bases consists of an outpost for each team. There is a ridge to snipe on at the back of the map. There are no weapons on the map. All weapons are delivered via Ordinance. There are several initial and random ordinances across the battlefield, and each base has a random ordinance with only power weapons. The map was made for team slayer games and Capture the Flag, but also works with King of the Hill, and will soon be made to work with Extraction. Screenshots:
