  1. I have zero regrets going back to Halo 3 since December. Apparently Halo 4 still sucks
  2. Finally a sigh of relief! I'll definitely take this over nothing!!
  3. Apparently our 80% of forums across multiple sites still only make up 1% that want ranks. 343 has ran most of the competitive players out of town like were some sort of outlaws.
  4. Yeah I'll still play this game for a couple months. Then I'll get bored and start griefing like I did in reach. Then I'll jump on my horse and ride off into the god damn sunset
  5. Behind the scenes!!!! Are you kidding me?! If halo has enough life to pump out an H5, maybe they'll put in a progressive "behind the scenes" system. After all, 343 seems to think anything shown to us is likely to be abused, so lets just hide it all. Great job 343!!! Keep up the behind the scenes work!
  6. To only have a progression system is like standing in line for a welfare check. Getting something for little to no effort. Maybe in Halo 5 they can also make the progressive system hidden. I don't understand how 343 can make an unbreakable progressive system, but fail to do the same with a visible rank system. Unless they really are just catering to ADHD gamers these days.
  7. Its amazing how a few pixels for rank can add so much depth to a game.
  8. A visual way to see your rank improve or degrade based off wins/loses is the way to go. Heres to hoping
  9. If no visible number rank is implemented into the ranking system, we should be punished in other ways. Perhaps losing a great deal of xp and whatever armor you unlocked after losing a match. I still play ranked halo 3 to this day. Could I have played halo 3 this long if only the social playlists were available? Heck no I would have moved on to BF3 or COD at that point. IMO hidden skill based systems in halo bore the hell out of me, which is why I skipped reach. The competitive community simply wants to be punished for losing games, and know that we were punished.
  10. A split playlist lineup for casual and competitive is the way to go. It appeals to both competitive and casual players alike. The reach system created a purely social playground. I stopped playing Reach a month after its release because of this. Playing 50 high in slayer with the risk of LOSING my 50 still keeps me playing halo 3 after all these years. This is purely my own personal conjecture but, the incredible success on H2 and H3 online was the fierce competition to chase the elusive 50 and display it with pride to your peers. Reach failed to deliver by its "no halo player left behind" motto thus rewarding individuals for losing. I understand 343 is working hard to create a ranking system that works. We've seen the halo3 (boosters/cheaters) and Reach (congrats you lost here's some rank) flaws and I'm excited to see how 343 tackles these problems without losing the competitive nature that makes halo what it is.
  11. Halo 2 was comparable only to crack....talk about an addicting game. Something about the unique visual ranks and fast game play set the standard for Halo which since then, has been below the bar. IMO the idea of removing ranks to eliminate boosters and new accts is lazy and unconstitutional in the online halo world. Instead of admitting defeat, new countermeasures should be implemented to deter cheaters/boosters.
  12. Finding out if 343 implemented a competitive ranking system.
  13. I'm certain 343 has very intelligent people that can bring solutions to the flaws of 1-50. It was never bad enough to completely remove (like reach). As a competitive player and huge fan of halo 2-3 online I hope this hardcore ranking system returns. More simply put we want to be PUNiSHED for losing matches that affect our number rank.
  14. Ultimately I'd like to see a competitive ranking system and of course the intense fun factor that the previous titles delivered (Reach excluded). I remain optimistic that 343 will deliver an amazing game to please every crowd.
