  1. See literally googled 343industries.

The first link is Wikipedia, the second is us, a community, fan-made forum, and the Halo Waypoint is third, the official site for 343Industries. We get this issue a lot, but it's what happens when we got approval from 343i to use this name.

Sorry, I would try to help you otherwise, but you do need to contact 343i on Halo Waypoint.

Also, what are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to rent consoles and games for an event, or buy them and keep them afterwards? If you are trying to rent them, you need to get in contact with the game developers and rental services in your area. If you intend to buy them and keep them, just go out and buy them in bulk at your local retail stores or order online, you do not need to get permission from developers to host a local community event if you own the games and consoles.

  2. The example above is not really me:

  3. Forum Gaming Census:

In order to bring the forum a more complete and diverse experience with playdates on systems and games you all love, the Staff are proud to present the first Forum Gaming Census (FGC). We all play a variety of games but never really know who all has or plays certain games. In order to help address this issue, we have put together this census to gather this information and use it to create better playdates for the forums. All you have to do is fill out the answers to the following questions to the best of your ability and we will take it from there. If you are unsure of how to fill out this form, please see the example provided at the bottom of the post.

Deadline for this Census is Halloween of 2014.

    The Census:

    1. What consoles/handheld devices/PC do you own that can connect to others via an online connection (internet or matchmaking services). Please note any fees or paid subscriptions.

    2. Do you have Xbox Live Gold or the equivalent services for your consoles/handheld devices/PC? Do you use any special servers for games that no longer have multiplayer matchmaking, (ie Steam, Gameranger, and other server hosting sites). Please note any fees or paid subscriptions you have to pay for these services.

    3. What games do you own for each console/hand held devices/PC that can be played with other forum members? Do you have any DLC for the game? If there are special restrictions or places you have gotten the games (ie Steam for PC), please list those games separately and explain as best as possible the situation.

    4. Place “+” at the beginning of your preferred games to play with others and put those on top of each console list. Place “-“ at the beginning of games you would not want to play, and place them at the bottom of each list. If you have no preference start with a “>” Please denote any Free to Play games with "F2P"

    5. What days and times would you prefer to play or have open on a regular basis?

    6. What is your favorite genre of games, and give three examples of games that you believe fit that genre.

    7. Describe you internet connection.

    Example Answer:

Xbox 360 - (Xbox Live Gold):

+ Halo 3 (All maps due to ODST disc)

+ Halo 4 (Forge Island DLC)

          + Minecraft (No DLC)

          > CoD Modern Warfare 2 (no DLC)

          > Brink (No DLC)

          > Fifa 2012 (No DLC)

          - Viva Pinata (No DLC)

          - Lego Batman (No DLC)

PC - (Whatever you feel necessary to describe for Specs. If you can also give an example of your “best possible rendering/playability” for a well-known game, that would be great. Also try to include any issues with memory)

        Steam Games

+ Total War: Rome II (All Faction DLC, no unit packs)

          > Team Fortress II (No DLC, F2P)

    Favorite Genre:

For 360, First Person Shooters (Halo, Call of Duty, Titanfall)

And that's all there is to it. Please feel free to help younger members and fear your moderators. If you feel this Census is incomplete, feel free to pm the Events Staff so we can take your suggestion under consideration. Yes, we plan to use this data for creating better playdates and events for the forum.

  4. You are going to want to head over to Xbox Customer Support and Halo Waypoint (343i's official site). This is just a  community forum, so we can't do anything about the ban.

But thank you for explaining your problem as best as possible, this helps so much when you are needing help or trying to help someone.

    Issues that I potentially see:

         1. Connection problem: (does not sound like it, as you aren't disconnecting from games or complaining about huge lag issues)

         2. Account hold or issue: Either MS or the Halo servers are not registering your account the entire time, or have something in the system against your account (ie a permaban, not resetting ban points, or something that should not be there).

         3. Hardwire issue: Your xbox, router, or other device on Microsoft's end is being tripped up and registers you quitting games or disconnecting, even when you are not.

  5. League of Legends is not really an RTS game, it has some elements of it, but is not a true RTS game. If you are looking for a true RTS, try to pick up Starcraft II, or Age of Empires 2 or 3, which are available on Steam. My first RTS game was Age of Empires 2, and I still play it, as do hundreds of thousands of others on a weekly basis. Age of Empires 3 is also a great game.

But if you do decide to play League, a few of the other members on the forums play as well, and would be more than happy with playing with you.

ONE NEW RULE! since Jack was high Smeezeoseron last game and was Smeezing left right and centre, there can only be one Smeeze EVERY 24 HOURS!

So lets say Jack smeezes at 6am, no staff member can smeeze until 24 hours later.

This is  a dumb rule, as it give the members an opportunity to get to 100 hassle free for 24 hours. Therefore, to make things fair, there should be a count cap for the members as well. The Only time the members won (because I was still a member back then and forced it) was due to a burst of posting in less than an hour to gain 70+ posts. I think a fair number would be 30 limit, to give the staff at most 4 chances to stop the members if we are limited in our smeeze times.

  7. This site will most likely not have an app for a long time (years most likely). Twam runs other forums as well, and in order to make an app for the site for phones or the Xbox, it will take multiple people with full access to the site's information and admin passwords. Considering all staff on the forum are not paid and selected volunteers, and don't work for the site for a living, an app is very much not in the future plans for the forum.

Additionally, I find the forum works fine on the phones and device I have used, and the mobile version of the site works well for browsing everything but the shoutbox. If you want the full site, just use the full site button on the bottom of your mobile page.

  8. Sounds like you are downstream without a paddle, or a canoe for that matter. Here is what I would suggest doing instead:

    1. Find Machinima sites that are current and looking for voice actors, editors, script writers/editors, etc. Find and read scripts. Go and watch the best Machinimas out there (Rise of the Spartans by Arbiter617 is one of the best). Doing this will make sure that you are part of the community and see how things run. You can see different ways of getting Machinimas off the ground, and those that are being made. Study the best ones.

    2. Create ideas for Machinimas that are different (and I mean decently different) from others. Make sure your ideas are not too generic, or way too far out there so that it is impossible to do in Halo. Expand your best ideas into mock plotlines and create a few draft scripts fro certain scenes. Have the scenes sketched out, possible map locations (ie Adrift top blue Hallway), and have ideas of where the cameras would focus on. This is not your key to fame, but your key to getting involved in a larger Machinima or being a part of a Machinima team. Your need to show that your are creative and are able to visualize an overarching plot, and then work on the small details. But make those details count, they are what separates the good from the okay.

    3. Now take a deep breath, because your work will get trashed on by others; I guarantee it. This is to be expected. Notice how I haven't told your to share your works yet, this is key.

    4. You volunteer on projects, just helping out with small things at first (small voice role, background/minor body actor once you get live, minor script reviewer, etc). Show that you can do those well on a larger project, and you will get invited back for more things. After you find a good group, then you can start to share your ideas. You will of course have refined many of them, and generated more on your current project. If working with others, don't try to force or suggest too drastic of a change, unless you can list and explain your reasons for it.

    5. As time goes on you can make a name for yourself and others you work with/for and make a decent if not top notch Machinima. Over time your will get Gold, get proper recording equipment, etc.

    6. ?

  9. I wouldn't consider this an update, but more of common sense and well, already a rule. But thanks for the reminder Mr. President Moderator.

EDIT: Might I suggest linking the rules for those too lazy to find the rules and read them. To make sure that people can't claim they could not find them.

    Link: http://www.343industries.org/rules

Where to find: Scroll to the bottom of the page, on the Right, in White, right next to "Privacy Policy."

It is time for another update on what is going on in the forums during the next month and beyond.

I felt the need not just to promote specific events or contests, but other things going on throughout the

forums so you can participate while they are still happening. So this month, September of 2014,

we have a good deal of things coming your way, prepare yourselves for the Wall:

    First up this month,

The Events Team has a new color, and a new member in case you haven't noticed. You shall respect our authority!

And something entirely new, our Monthly Short Story Contest:

    med_gallery_30063_641_235254.png

Every month members are tasked with writing a short story based on the prompts given in a master thread. By the

end of the month all participating must create their own story and create a thread following the guidelines set up

on the master threads. Get out your typewriter, stick, and crayon and get writing!

A Monthly Award, that's right, an Award!

    gallery_30063_641_47273.jpg

Get your sarcastic comments loading, because they might just come in handy, when you try to out wit,

or out humor the rest of the forum in the monthly caption contest. You might just make someone's day,

find something to make your day, or win an award for being the best this month! Did I mention there was an award?

Another Award, but this one is new!:

    SIG181889.png

You enjoy the forums right? Spending hours every day browsing the dark reaches of the forum's corners,

only to find a brilliant post, that died over two years ago? Maybe you find a great idea that is recent but no one else

commented on it. There are discussions out there, great ideas by members that die because they are not fed, not

discussed as much as they deserve. You all enjoy having your posts, ideas, and creative works shared, so

go out a find other works that need to be shared. Oh yeah, if you do it, you get an award....

    Free Rice Still going on:

    fr_logo_eng.jpg

By participating in the United Nations Freerice program, the community can make another positive impact in the real world.

To join just follow the links and sign up at Freerice.com and join our group. For every 20,000 grains you generate under the

forum group, you get an award. Feel good about giving the essentials to people, while receiving an electronic award for your good deeds!

    Staff VS Members Playdate Poll

    gallery_21109_433_1329.jpg

If you want to kill the staff, or die trying, on a game of your preference, partake in the poll so we can choose a

good date, time, and game so that as many people can participate as possible. Good luck, we have GSD.

    Weekly Community Poll:

    WP2bd2d.png

You guys know how this works, vote and argue stuff about Halo, both in the past, present, and future.

Your comments might be highlighted in the next poll!

And way out there, but not that far in the future:

    HALOc596.png

Total Mayh3m, or whatever he decides his name will be by the event, will be hosting an opening day Master Chief

no matter the forging skills or ideas. Check out the master thread for more details.

    Member Events:

These are events hosted by members that could use highlighting to increase attendance and participation all around. If you create a event,

please feel free to pm me with a link to it so I can add it, pending a proper grammatical and event management combing of the material.

Sorry guys, no descriptions, otherwise this would be bigger than it already is!

As always, a friendly remember: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/13184-custom-game-night-forum/

    Other Important Things:

But Sikslik7, what else could there be? More, and lot's of it. The podcast is restarting, the Youtube channel is expanding, so check those for more news and updates from your lovely Staff. Things are in the works to expand forum contests and events, to get more members involved, draw more members to the site, and make the forums a much more enjoyable place to be and participate in. Be a part of it all, go to events, make better posts, you know the drill.

Expect More, Expect Better, Expect Fun.

  11. Welcome to the forums! As a fellow forger I invite you to join the Community's Teleforge project, which can be found in the same forum as this thread. I am currently on my phone, and therefore cannot give you a link rich now. It is the closest thing the forums have to a Forge team. Although I am sure you can find more than a few members to join you from time to time to share maps and forge. Stay awhile and stay forging.

    EDIT: Link to Teleforge: http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/35335-community-teleforge/
