ElGato Game Capture card review

 

 

i just bought a ElGato capture card and a got a request to make a review about what i think about the ElGato

 

 

i don't think there is to big difference between the new capture cards like Roxio HD PRO, HDPV v2 and the ElGato only the price, all of them record in 1080p.

But the elgato got the playback feature so you if you forget to press record you have the opportunity to reverse the play about an hour i think similar to theatre in halo (but OFC the capture card must be connected and have the software on the computer on)

 

but the only negative about the ElGato is you cannot record your own voice with an original xbox 360 headset

but you can always record your voice on the computer

i have an Turtle Beach X41 but i have no ability to use both the ElGato and the X41 because i have an old xbox and those don't have an optical cable input like the new "slim"

i will try that one out when halo 4 lanches (i'll get the halo 4 xbox)

 

but i think the ElGato is a great capture card but not the cheapest

For the second video are you using the factory settings? for the recording or did you tweak them?

i did not do much just put it on 1080p instead of 720p

and specify it to xbox 360

but if you are going to make macinemas you have to consider that you can't record your voice

The HD PVR dosen't allow you to do that also, just use audacity

Thanks for the review skumm! Still unsure of the choice between Hauppage or ElGato and your review makes it more difficult to choose, lol!
